Have you ever cut someone else’s hair? yes. I used to be pretty good at doing my brothers hair-- even the fading. But I’m sure I’ve forgotten it all by now.

Who was the last guest in your house and what were they staying for? probably my sister or my nephews.

How many long term relationships have you been in? blegh. not many. Whenever I’d know that it didnt have long term potential, id drop it. no sense dragging out the inevitable.

Do you sleep with all the lights out, or do you leave a lamp or even the television on? so for the longest time I kept my room super dark. I slept well. once miller died and kile broke my heart, I couldn’t sleep without the tv playing. I needed to hear something calming and voices talking so I wouldn’t be left with my thoughts. I still can’t turn it off.

Who is one person you have forgiven, but still have not “forgotten” what they have done? i think its easy to say “forgive and forget” but the reality is that once we have endured trauma we don’t easily forget. I think its kind of unrealistic. I’m trying to forgive kile but thats going to take.. i dont know how long. As for what it was... it was just betrayal.. lying. for six+ years. lots of laughing at me.

Are you looking forward to any day of this month? i was really looking forward to Kile’s birthday on monday, but since we arent talking anymore then there is no joy in that. all the other special dates have been ruined by covid.

I had much more self confidence and some of it was because kile LOVED my selfies -- or so he said. and I just had so much fun doing that. Since the heartbreak, I’ve maybe taken 10 selfies. I just don’t have any self confidence in my looks anymore. its so different now. most of my pictures now are of other people or scenery.

What kind of face wash do you use? cerave when I want to. otherwise i use water and a very particular type of fabric.

Winter blooms (chapter 1)

Alfred has had an interest shift to say the least.

He was late for work which at this point didn’t even surprise his manager, Harold.

Alfred was not great with managing his time and being a pre med student in the middle of finals made it worse.

At this time of the day he tried not to fall asleep in the middle of talking to customers, he was glad that the majority of people who brought coffee this early in the morning where mostly students like him because he didn’t have the energy to deal with Karens today.

“Hi! can i get a Venti Iced Skinny Hazelnut Macchiato, Sugar-Free Syrup, Extra Shot, Light Ice, No Whip”

A melodic voice brought him back to reality and his green eyes met with light brown ones.

He was looking at a brunette girl with her hair in half a ponytail and a beautiful light blue dress and a white apron.

Alfred was too stunned to speak for what felt like either three seconds or an eternity, he finally managed to open his mouth.

“Oh sorry could you repeat,,, everything?” he smiled sheepishly

The girl laughed and Alfred’s heart did somersaults, she repeated the whole order again and he got to annotate it in his notepad.

As Alfred started making the girl’s order he couldn’t help but stare at her, She was fidgeting with her necklace while she watched her coffee being made, she also had the brightest smile he had ever seen, which was odd for someone to be this happy too early in the morning.

“Do I have something in my face?” The girl furrowed her eyebrows in confusion

“No, you look great” Alfred blurted out and immediately blushed. you look great?? god he was so awkward.

He handed the order back to the girl trying to avoid her eyes, she accepted the cup with a smile and started to look in her purse for her wallet.

After a minute of looking, the girl muttered a fuck and placed the cup on the counter

“I forgot my wallet at my job” she admitted “but don’t worry I can leave this here and go get it!”

Alfred softened at that “Hey no it’s fine!” he was gonna get killed for this.

He slowly moved the cup of coffee towards her with a shy smile “It’s on the house”

The girl looked surprised.

“Are you sure? I can just run back and bring the wallet.”

“Yeah! don’t worry about it!”

She sighed in relief. “Thank you so much uhh-” she seemed to realized she didn’t know his name

“Alfred.”

The girl smiled. “Alice.” And with that, she left the coffee shop.

“You should’ve seen him Tabby! he had the fluffiest hair and a cute dimple in the side of his face and-”

“Alice, you have been rambling about this boy for the past thirty minutes” Tabitha, the flower shop manager and one of Alice’s closest friends complained. “We get it, you’re in love with the barista from starbucks because he gave you free coffee.”

“I’m gonna pay him back!” Alice protested

“Just like you payed me when I bought you chipotle the other day?” Tabitha raised her eyebrows and smirked.

“It was one time!”

Tabby just laughed at Alice’s short temper, it was really easy to get her rilled up for something stupid and she found herself doing it often for her entertainment.

After that the two girls fell into a comfortable silence while both cleaned their respective sides of the flower shop, today they had the luxury of opening a little bit later but they also had to do Angus’ work due to him being MIA since yesterday.

“I’m gonna go back tomorrow,” Alice blurted out suddenly, breaking the tranquility of a quiet morning yet again.

“Oh are you now?” Tabby replied sarcastically, without even looking up from what she was doing.

“I need to pay him back!” Alice tried to justify. “Plus I wanna thank him for being so kind yesterday.”

“Are you sure you’re not going back just because he’s cute?” Tabby threw a little twig playfully at Alice, the former just frowned and flipped her off.

Alice stood up suddenly, grinning like crazy.

“Oh no, I know that look.” Tabby said as she rolled her eyes. “you’re having an idea and it’s probably not going to end well.”

Alice decided to ignore her friend as she sprinted towards the back of the store.

When she came back she was holding a little bouquet of white roses, Tabitha raised her eyebrows at that.

“I could give him these roses,” Alice said, as if it was not obvious, “as a thank you gift.”

“Alice,” Tabby sighed. “Those are one of the most expensive ones.”

“C’mon Tabby,” Alice pleaded. “It’s in the name of love.”

“So now you admit that you like the boy?”

“I- d- I never said that!” Alice blushed again.

“Why would you give flowers to someone you don’t like then?”

“Tabby!” Alice protested, knowing the older girl was just messing with her “please”

Tabatha stayed quiet for a few seconds until she sighed in the end. “Fine, but you better get together with the boy, and this is the first and last time I let you take the merchandise for free.”

They both knew that was not going to be the case.

Alfred couldn't stop sneezing.

Apparently right before his shift Alice had come looking for him but she didn't realize that his shift hasn't even started yet.

According to Clarissa, his coworker who was working at the moment, she ordered a super complicated coffee and left a gift for The boy who took her order yesterday.

He had been super excited to see what the gift was until he realized with dread what Alice brought him.

A bouquet of White roses.

He prayed his sneezes were quiet enough that no one found out, but after almost dropping another cup of coffee on himself due to an allergy attack Harold had to pull him aside.

‘Are you sick or something, Alfred? You’re scaring the customers away,” He whispered as soon as he was out of earshot from the people in the coffee shop.

“No It’s just allergies, don’t worry about it.” Alfred shrugged.

He was used to telling people that, after all it was a rare occasion when Alfred was not suffering from allergies or a cold. Some days it seemed like his own body hated him.

“What are you even allergic to?”

What was Alfred not allergic to would be a way shorter answer, but he decided to only say what was causing his reaction at the moment.

“Pollen, mostly.”

Harold eyed the vase of roses on the counter, which has certainly not been there yesterday,

then looked back at Alfred and tilted his head in confusion.

“I don’t even want to ask,”’ Harold sighed and started to head into the back to the store but not before turning around and saying, “Just try not to die or scare the customers away.”

“No promises,” Alfred muttered and tried to go back to work without spilling coffee on himself.

8 // One year

Uhm hi. 

Has it been a year already, lol? I know, little me. I have been neglecting this blog for quite some time now and honestly I knew that. I just didn’t want to face reality.. my reality by writing things down: my problems, regrets, insecurities all of them. It felt disgusting just aknowledging them so I avoided confrontation. But hey, in my defense, covid has been going on the whole year and 2020 was a big fat mess. So many things happened, changed, escalated and barely had the time and energy and strength to face all those problems and changes. 

2020 was gonna be THE year, i said. So many times. Trying to tell myself that there’s no need to be scared. No need to back down, because everyone goes through high school graduation, university, adulthood. It’s completely normal to panic a bit because in the end you’re gonna manage. You’re capable of so many great things. I told myself, or rather lied to myself? I don’t even know at this point. 2020 was memorable. Yes. But in a good way? aboslutely not! :’) And just a short disclaimer. I know how damn serious the virus is, but let me just rant about my life for once, because it’s hard on me, too.

Schools just suddenly closed down 2 weeks before my graduation. My friends and my whole grade in general did not get to experience the legendary “last week” where we’d prank the whole school. Everyone before us did, though. Pretty unfair. I mean we went to school for so many years and that was gonna be our HIGHLIGHT! Marking our GRADUATION. Making epic MEMORIES. Well, fuck that, I guess. Didn’t happen! :D Instead, we got 1 month quarantine where we had to study for finals. For unsure finals. For “we don’t know if you have to take exam yet” - finals. But we had to study, study for finals that may not even happen. That were some horrible ass weeks of studying, crying, panicking, stressing out, questioning myself, more crying and a lot of anime, lmao. And then it was May and I took my exams and I did pretty okay-ish. It wasn’t the best I could’ve done but I mean, considering the situation back then and how lazy I really am, it was okay. At least, for me... kind of? Honestly speaking, I knew it was bad. My grades used to be GREAT but now they were just good but for my parents that meant failed. And did they not hide their disappointed in that, no. They actually went ahead and told me in my face how absolute horrible my finale grades were and that theyre absolutely not satisfied with them. Thanks, mom. It’s not like I didn’t know that. Sorry for not being able to go into Med school like U wished. But it was hard on me, too. Comparing myself to my friends who despite this damn situation still managed to get the perfect score in every damn subject. Am I even allowed to use the pandemic as an excuse or is it really just me who sucks at everything. It’s not like not being able to go outside without mask and 1.5m social distancing was helping me in any way. It’s not like the constans pressure of my parents wasn’t enough. If not Med School, then Law, they said. And funny enough, I could’ve gone there but then suddenly remembered how I applied to Psych School in December 2019, whoops. Why, you ask? Because my mom already pressured me into looking up universities in goddamn 2019 and so I went ahead and applied to a school in aneighboring country, because going as far as possible was basically the aim. Psych was never my dream, I mean yeah, it’s super interesting (and spoiler: I am enjoying studying it a lot.) but I never actually considered a profession in that area. Not because I didn’t see myself there, but I didn’t see myself ANYWHERE at all. I didn’t know what I wanted to do. I had no passions, goals or dreams. Sounds sad, but the Internet assured me, I wasn’t only one so thumbs up to us guys. Anyway, so I applied to that University and in the middle of finals I got accepted, suprisingly! Didn’t expect that and for sure didn’t remember that LMAO. I told my parents and they were not pleased. My dad couldn’t understand why I wanted to study Psychology ??? The fuck u wanna do with that, he asked. And I didn’t know what to answer, because hell no, I don’t know, bro. I just applied to move out from home. Fun fact: my household is not that toxic, just stereotypical asian strict parents who love the idea of med school a little too much. But I still went there, even if they disagreed but I mean they cannot change the fact that my grades weren’t good enough for med school, and even if could’ve gone to Law school, I DECLINED. 100% sure I’m not made to defend anyone in court. Probably woulda start crying or something.. 

And so I graduated, had a weird graduation ceremony in our P.E hall (?? idek lmao) and went to university 2 months later in september. Funny story. LMAO. Seriously, things happened in such a fast pace that I wasn’t able to properly accept the fact that I am no longer a high school student, and just started my new path?!?!?!?! Wtf?? stop!? Months and Months went by and I was emersed in studying and exams and deadlines. And all of that online. Via Zoom. Great. Nice University student life. No parties, no real life lectures, no making friends in the cafeteria or any sort of actual experiences like those. Great. Second lockdown, and third lockdown - oh there’s a vaccine! Yey! Oh no, wait. There are mutation of the virus. Not great. :’) And that my friends was 2020. The year I turned 18. What a wonderful start into adulthood <3 

And now, it’s already 2021. And tomorrow I turn 19. And im fucking scared. And sad. 1. Scared because I don’t wanna age and become old and knowing i havent accomplished one single thing in life and instead rather than turning 19 i turned into a failure and 2. Sad because I’m 18, do not have a drivers license, never went clubbing for adults, graduated in the most disgusting and sad way possible (and most unmemorable way i dont even wanna think about that musty gymnasiums hall lmao) and pretty much did nothing cool in my 18th life and thats just how my young adult life’s gonna be! :DDD nice guys. 

Ok, this sounds pretty depressive and petty and sad and lowkey annoying but idk how i am supposed to sugarcoat that.... if i find a way, i’ll come back but until then, stay safe

hey peeps. today wasn’t particularly exciting. woke up 8:45 to my alarm, but since I didn’t have court, just clinic, I gave myself an extra 30 minutes and got up at 9:15. It was the end of our winter break intern program, which was very interesting this year since it was all virtual, we had Yale law students and people just from schools everywhere rather than just those physically located in Chicago for the break. Wild, I tell you. Anyway, we were being super fucking productive today, we got 3 cases filed and made a lot of progress on a few others. There was one that was taking like 3 volunteers all damn day to do, and I know it’s because they haven’t actually been doing this very long, but damn boy it’s been like 5 hours, lol. I did the first hearing with this dude who’s filing against an “ex-girlfriend” and of course take down dates of birth, his was 1967 and hers was....1997. The first thing I said to the volunteer was to double check if that was correct, and it was. That one went to the really stubborn annoying judge that doesn’t like us, but I also don’t like this guy, so I didn’t particularly care that his emergency order didn’t get granted. I had filed another one right afterwards that they initially said was going to go back up to the same judge, but for reason it didn’t, and like 15 minutes later they sent me to the courtroom of the judge that really likes me haha. I’d been in the other courtroom for this entire week so she was like “oh nice to see you, it’s been a while!!” and is generally just in a good mood while I’m interacting with her which is nice. It was also a much better actual case, so it wasn’t a concern if the order was getting granted or not, we knew it would be. I felt kinda bad though, because the other case that got filed my coworker was handling, because it had been leftover from the previous day when she was running things, and that case did go up to the really stubborn annoying judge, and that case was with an older woman who didn’t own a computer so was just calling in by phone, which is written into the chief judge’s order about covid procedures that we’re allowed to do, and I could’ve sworn we did it with this judge before, but apparently that was just unacceptable because she at least needed to see them swear in. So they went on this wild rabbit chase making like an organization facebook account because the only way to get a video was on her facebook, with my coworker then holding the phone up to the screen for the judge to see....and after they go through this whole thing the judge was like oh yeah so I read the affidavit I’m just going to grant it now without like any further discussion, and they were not pleased with that haha so I felt a little bad about avoiding dealing with that, but at the end of the day the order got granted, so that is still a better outcome than a lot of other times (though still being wildly annoying). Things were looking okay by the end of the day and we were able to close things up pretty well. We have Monday off for MLK Jr day (court’s closed!) so our next day is Tuesday, which is my clinic day, so I get to come back to this and do all my own follow up, which is always fun. For a short minute I was considering running to Target and food with friend, but my legs were just super shaky today and as much as I wanted to go (which I really did), I knew it was a bad idea, so we’re just going to hang tomorrow and go from there, probably do an evening Target trip and food. So for the most part I just watched Chicago Med and chilled. I still wasn’t able to reach my mom, despite calling in the morning and leaving a voicemail and calling again in the evening, but idk what’s up with their phones right now (but I’m a bit peeved at her about it honestly). I eventually just called my brother, and he confirmed that the hospital had just held my sister overnight and released her this morning, basically the story being she had a bad panic attack or something like that but they deemed her okay and not a danger to herself so I guess that’s good. I was trying to get her to call me but she was getting something to eat so I just texted her a bit, she seemed fine. my mom had told me a few days prior that she had broken up with her boyfriend that she’d been with for like two years, but she also has been saying she’s going to break up with him for like 6 months now, so I didn’t think she was that down and out about it, but I guess it didn’t help. I was trying to tell her she needs something to work towards, a goal to get out of there, because I know she isn’t happy being there, and if she got enough credits for an associate’s degree she could finish college somewhere and actually get away from everything. She seemed to agree but I don’t know, I’m going to actually talk to her about it and see what happens. and yeah, I watched Chicago Med until I took a shower and then started getting ready for bed and am now here and it’s almost 2 am and I have to wake up like 15 minutes earlier than normal tomorrow even though it’s a Saturday because I got myself signed up for this legal clinic through my church which I love the idea of in theory but in reality I just get extremely anxious that I’m not going to know how to do whatever random thing the person comes in needing, and like last time it was fine but apparently tomorrow’s is about divorce and like I know some divorce stuff but not like how to serve your spouse who is stuck in a Latin American country and isn’t allowed back in the US....so I’m hoping we don’t get that far into the discussion. I’m sure it’ll be fine, I’m just anxious because I’m anxious, nothing new here. And on that note I’m gonna go to bed. Goodnight my friends. Sweetest of dreams, happy weekend.

Sansa only nodded and hugged her empty food tray to her body until it was time to gather her lunch. Her eyes darted towards all the guard posts as if they could hear Margaery’s blasphemous words.

Margaery (or Marg as she insisted on being called) was the only other girl at the facility that had attended the same school as Sansa. They had both been in their Sixth Form Art Class when the Government officials burst into the room, separated the male and female students and started the apparently compulsory 'testing’.

Sansa was a bright girl, she had a feeling that when they were all being told that their families knew what was being done to them and where they were going that the words were most likely not strictly true.

She remembered eying the stern looking guards at the door before she complied to her test and placed her legs in the stirrups. The 'doctor’ disappeared under her hospital gown with the torturous looking speculum. It wasn’t that bad - probably like a smear test, she mused - apart from the fact that it seemed like she was unable to refuse this test should she want to - what with the guards and all.

“Ding ding ding - we have a winner” Sansa remembers Dr Qyburn saying while still between her legs, the sting from his examination not yet subsiding. He gestured towards the guards and that’s when they took her away and delivered her to the facility - wherever that was.

“I don’t know what their game is yet but I’ll figure it out” Marg said with a smirk “whatever it is, it won’t be pleasant - of that I’m sure” she said, her expression darkening considerably.

“What makes you say that”? Sansa whispered almost inaudibly.

“Anytime someone prattles on and on trying to convince you to 'do your duty’ - you know your 'duty’ will be about as fun as peeing on a spark plug” Marg finished with a nod. Sansa couldn’t bring herself to disagree.

The daily doses of injected unknown drugs started two days later. She knew they were being groomed for something… but to what end?

The reality hit after a time, when each girl was issued a small pamphlet entitled “Increasing the Possibility by Dr Pycelle”. Sansa sat on her single cot with the hard mattress and the blue scratchy wool blanket in her cell and flicked through the booklet. Sansa thought of her sister Arya - she would have just turned 15. Her gut twisted uncomfortably - she missed her terribly and now she feared for her too.

Hi and thanks for taking time to help me out. I have bought a BMW 540i (1997) back in January. I was really happy as this was my first car. Two weeks ago, I was driving to France and my gearbox died leaving me only with the first gear working. I went to a garage in France and we phoned the insurance but the insurance said that it cannot guarantee that it would cover me. They offered me to leave the car in France and to go back to London by myself. I refused to consider this option as I could not allow my self to stay in France (I had to go back to work) for more than the week-end and I could not afford to take the train/plane from Paris to London. The insurer said that they would not cover any costs associated with me going back to London. So I had to get the car back to London, and to drive it back home. I went to a garage where a very nice person accepted to take care of the car. He phoned the insurance and arranged everything. The insurer sent some engineers who inspected the car and the insurance said to the garage that they would only cover 65% of the costs...due to the mileage of the car (83,000 miles roughly). The garage has repared the car without asking me if I was ok to pay the last 35% and the insurer did not mention it to me either. I am going to call the insurance tomorrow to get more details about this story...but my concern is that : 1/ I am afraid of talking to them and to commit a mistake that could cost me more 2/ I don't know exactly what I am entitled to get and what are my resources in case they just refuse to change anything on this 3/ They ask me to pay the money upfront (around 2,000) and then I would have to make a claime but...I don't feel confident doing this..and I am far from having this money... What to do when rental car got damaged and I dont have insurance?

I rented a car from Enterprise and declined their insurance. I had credit card insurance. However I made a blunder of not initiating the rental in that credit card. While driving the rental car the tire blew out and the car hit the median and there is some extensive damage to the car. I am in deep trouble now as my credit car insurance will not work as I didnt initiate the car rental in that card. Is there any way that I can salvage this situation? Please help!!

Our car insurance was expiring on the 28th of may. We had all the premium paid by the end of march. At the end of april we got rid of the car. Couple of days later we received renewal documents from the insurance company. We have been with those company for 2 years, we didn' t make any claims. For the past 2 years we were paying 102 pounds a month. The renewal documents were saying that we only got the 1 year NCB and that our monthly instalment is going to be 140 pounds a month. I rang them on the 6th of may and said that first of all we have 2years of NCB and we want the documents from them proving that , second of all I have asked how come the instalment went from 100 pounds to 140 pounds a month the nice guy explained that there was a mistake (in their system 1 year of NBC was showing) and now it has been sorted and we are going to receive the proof of 2 years NBC and the monthly instalment is going to be 100 pounds. I thanked the guy and said that we do not wish to extend the insurance and I am only waiting for the 2years of NBC. He said ok and I thought it was sorted. We went on holiday abroad on 21st of May and got back on the 7th of June and imagine my surprise when in the post I have found the letter from insurance company with the certificate of insurance enclosed and them thanking me for deciding to stay with them and saying that my monthly instalment is 130 pounds!!! (because apparently i decided not to the the brakedown cover that i had before!!!!) I decided to call them first thing in the morning, but befor I did it i checked my account and of course they have already debited it with 130 pounds. I called them and the woman there explained that they were never informed of not extending the policy and that of course they have it registered that i phoned on the 6th of may with questions but they called me and left a message on my voicemail and apparently i never rang them back. She explained that all I have to do is to send the certificate of motor insurance back and then i will get the money. So i did. Once they got it they rang me saying that now they want the proof of selling/scrapping the car, WHY???I do not think it is any of their business. Especially that as far as I am concerned I am not cancelling the policy , I never wanted it. It is all their fault they did not listen. Can I do something about it, I have also got the funny feeling they are not going to give me full refund that they are gonna come up with something.""

Hi, Me and my fiancee currently own and insure a Rover 25, V reg, 1.4 ltr, through Quinn. I'm the main driver and she's a named driver. We currently pay about 400 for tpf&t for the policy, and this has been roughly the price since we started the policy about 2 1/2 years ago. We're now looking at getting a second car as we will be working in different areas. My Grandma offered me her old Nissan Micra (1.3 ltr, K-reg) for us to have. I phoned up Quinn to get a quote for this car and they quoted 2,020!! I can't understand why it's so much more expensive, it's ridiculous! The lady I spoke to couldn't give me any adequate explanation of why it was so expensive, though she mentioned that we wouldn't be able to use a NCB on it as it would have to be an entirely new policy. But we took our first car policy with no NCB and that was a fraction of the price. Apparently the micra is called a Super-S or something, though it is not suped up or a fancy model or anything. Could that be it? We've tried a few other insurers and they also give expensive quotes (1000+) though not as ridiculous as Quinn. Any ideas why it would be so expensive? What could we change to try to make it cheaper? Change each car to have one named driver ony? Try a different car? Find a multicar insurer?
