#Throwback to Hemsedal, Norway anno 2000 ~ Bs air captured by the amazing, one and only @sidewaysspirits 📷 The story behind the session is quite dramatic: As the only girl at the Burton photoshoot I was honored (and a bit terrified) to be riding with the top caliber guys in the world at the time. The riders got slingshot into this hip by a snowmobile in very high speeds... The first times were nerve wracking, but after some tries I really started to get the hang of it... Inspired by riders like @mexifin who was boosting 7 meter airs I started playing with more speeds and bigger airs. We committed and dedicated our time for hours and on one of my last tries I went up feeling a buzz to push further. I remember the speed of the snowmobile accelerated and as I let go of the rope of the snowmobile I approached the massive extension of the quarter pipe faster than before. As I started climbing up the wall I could tell I was in for a real flight... An amazing feeling! But before I knew it I landed like a small ball on top of the deck, missing the padding (those red mats), resulting in smacking both my knees into my chin and face. In a nutshell, the result was not pretty. I knocked out four teeth and ripping up my lip really bad. There was no dentists open, as we were located in a small town in Norway on a Sunday evening 👍 You may wonder why I still snowboard? If you have ever had the feeling of flying, either in the air or down the mountain, in soft endless powder or just cruising around on the surface, you know the answer... ❤️🙏🏂 #tbt #hemsedal #norway #air #backsideair #flying #photography #snowboarding #dowhatyoulove
