We love seeing people get recognition for doing cool stuff but never expect it for ourselves. Tonight we were over-the-moon to receive this little beauty from Master Baker Brett Noy. Queensland's best up and coming bakers got to shine and "rise" in front of their peers and enjoy the accolades. Queensland's top awards were presented at the annual National Baking Industry Association Dinner. These young folks are winners because of talent in baking, commitment to hard work, integrity, values and sharing of knowledge for the baking industry. Award results: Terry Hutchinson - Finalist Holly Fennell - Bread Award Chloe Kelly - Cake & Pastry Award Amie Stewart - Combined Award Amie Stewart - Overall Apprentice Of The Year. (Prize: development training in Japan) Apprentices are nurtured and mentored in the baking industry by top International Master Bakers; Brett Noy & Dean Tilden, who represented Australia in the Bakery Masters in Paris, which is regarded as the Olympics of the baking world. Master de la Boulangerie! No matter where your bread is buttered, you can have your cake and eat it too... for generations to come at least! The clear message of the evening, (which identified the recipe of success) , was to always continue on a path of learning. And you only get out what you put in.
