my hot take that i know i’d be absolutely ratio’d to death for on twitter, and tbh i’m not even gonna make it rebloggable here bc i know somebody will try to drag me for not being able to take a bit of slander and “that’s what sports is about 🤪”, is i think there are some ✨goatifi✨ memes that go way too far onto the side of being straight up meanspirited

#like blah blah he’s not very good and he’s very rich and doesn’t need an internet rando sticking up for him #but also.#my even HOTTER take.#is that even though he was undeniably not good at formula one #he got very reasonable results in his last f2 season and i’m sorry but you can’t do that without some level of talent #just not everyone is suited to specifically being a formula one driver #i think we’re all slightly blinded by f1 being viewed as the pinnacle of motorsport #and the idea that anyone who doesn’t make it to f1 has summarily failed #that it’s easy to forget that finishing in the top 10 of most major feeder series is pretty fucking difficult and requires skill #basically. shit f1 driver. undeniable. but that doesn’t mean he’s like. a buffoon who cannot drive full stop
