“I wouldn’t go in there if I were you.” You say as you watch the YorHA android attempt to advance into one of the many caverns that make up the desert area. “I just finished rigging it with a new kind of mine, wanna see how long it takes before one of those machines sets one off.”

You’ve set the mines up in a chain, detonate one, and it will set the others off in a series of fiery explosions. Honestly, the last thing you want is for 2B and 9S to go wandering into a cavern and setting one of those explosives off.

Life would be boring without those two...

    a2 wordlessly stares at the other android in utter silence for what seems like an eternity. it was so inexplicably weird to see 2b alive, considering the final memories she had of her was when she was DEAD, mercifully put out of her misery by her own two hands.

    and yet here she is, standing in front of her, most certainly ALIVE.

    hands balling into fists [nails digging into her palms, straining, trembling] before quickly relaxing, she lets out a quiet sigh. some part of her is almost... happy to see 2b.

“2b, i...” she hesitated. this isn’t like her, this ISN’T like her. “i’m glad you’re alright.”

    despite her words, her expression is unreadable, unable to tell if what she says holds true.

        It didn’t matter? Of course, it mattered! Raphael had reason to press on, to live. Amy needed him and he could not let her down, not when he was so close to being able to secure a safe future for the both of them. “Given the current state of the area, I don’t really see why they would be here anyways.”

The scanner unit raises and lowers his shoulders in a shrug. It wouldn’t surprise him if the machines would spend their time in the area, since.. Well, they seemed to be full of tricks up their sleeve.

“As far as the area indicates, there’s nothing much of value to be had from this place, but.. Y’know, I could always be wrong. Keeping our guards up sounds like a good idea.”

     He’d only been able to catch glimpses of their fight, slipping in and out of consciousness. His pain sensors were on overdrive as he was forced to stay on the wall. It hurt his very soul knowing 2B was fighting alone. But then came the sensation of falling, and her voice. She won.

     “2B...” That and a weak smile were all he could manage, even if he had wanted to move. Either way, it seemed to be enough as she gently carried him away from the Copied City.
