I think the reason why Liquid and Mantis appeal to me more (aesthetics aside) is that Hal/Snake and V/Kaz are both like... they dont represent the kind of mental problems I have lol. Like I'm not saying Liquid and Mantis are more mentally ill, but. They're coded as the more complex or 'volatile' types.

Liquid comes off as bipolar and borderline, and struggles with a very real (and familiar) type of delusion (as opposed to Venom Snake, or even Big Boss's) and Mantis is obviously coded with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (he literally defines his entire lifestyle by other people's thoughts intruding into his own mind) and maybe even apd.

There's not a lot of room for happiness for them, it's not soft like otasune, it isn't a tragedy like vkaz or a challenging unstoppable shitheadery like bbocelot... so much as it is an apathetic comfort zone. They can bring each other down but they can actually make a home down there without it being relentlessly sad. Idk. Its not that deep but I'm having insomnia lol

yes hi hello friend, i would like to take this opportunity to talk endlessly about all the random bboceleva headcanons that have sitting in my head for the last couple days if that’s cool with everyone :3c i know i’ve been hella inactive with writing but i have been thinking about random headcanon shit at random so here we go 

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS (AU EDITION)

the trio started out in a one bedroom apartment with just a full sized bed.  they were younger and didn’t mind much being squished or having someone sleep on top of someone else (mostly Eva and Adam did this, John was too heavy)

as they got a bit older and needed some room to stretch and spread out, they upgraded to a queen bed, which barely fit in the one bedroom.  Adam especially liked the queen bed for when he took naps in the middle of the day because he’d sleep right in the middle of it 

when George was born, they somehow managed to fit a crib in the bedroom along with the obnoxiously huge bed.  whoever woke up with George in the middle of the night usually ended up sleeping on the couch with him in a smaller crib they kept in the living room 

they eventually moved into a two bedroom apartment so George would have his own room down the line, and this time the queen bed ACTUALLY fit well in the room 

flash forward two years later and Eva is pregnant with the twins, which means having to shove TWO cribs in George’s room (George didn’t mind, he was just really excited about having two new siblings)

the twins are born, which means double the waking up in the middle of the night, and George is at the age where he wants to sleep in the same bed as his parents, which usually means someone is getting kicked out of the bed and most of the time it’s Eva or John.

when George is four and the twins are almost two, they finally move into a house, with three bedrooms– one of the parents, one for George, and one for the twins, who share that room until they are in high school and David takes the small guest room in the basement as his when Tretij moves in and Eli INSISTS they room together 

George is the first to move out, and they offer the room to Tretij first, but he wants to stay in Eli’s room regardless.  they keep it as a spare bedroom because sometimes Eva needs her space and gets too hot sleeping between two grown men 

John prefers being little spoon, but literally all three of them are little spoons and sometimes he has to compromise (usually by being in the middle, despite that being Eva’s favorite spot)

Adam has shoved both of them out of every bed in his sleep more times than either of them can count 

Eva is a blanket hog, which doesn’t bother Adam since he likes the cold, so it’s mostly John she’s fighting with for covers 

Adam is the first one to fall asleep, last one to wake up.  Eva falls asleep last and wakes up second.  John falls asleep second and wakes up SUPREMELY early, but that just means he usually makes breakfast 

ENGAGEMENTS AND WEDDINGS

the first actual argument John and Adam had that didn’t involve work was over who was going to give Eva the ring Adam’s father gave The Boss and who would buy her a new ring.  they ended up giving her just the one engagement ring for the sake of secrecy

John was the first one to bring up all three of them getting married (which caused both Adam and Eva to drop dishware on the floor in shock)

their marriages were actually separated into four weddings– one ring exchange between John and Adam, a legal ceremony between John and Eva, another ring exchange between Adam and Eva, and then one big ceremony with all three of them followed by a huge party afterwards.  Kaz got to be the best man/man of honor four times.

Eva’s rings are two thin silver bands (one lined with diamonds from Adam and a plain silver band from John) stacked together on her left hand.  The Boss’ engagement ring sits on top of them.

Adam wears both of his rings on each hand (the ring on the right hand signifies that the wearer is married in most European cultures).  the ring from John is a gold band with diamonds set in the middle and is the one on his right hand.  the ring from Eva is a gold band with engravings and is the one on his left hand

similar to Eva, John keeps both of his rings on the same hand, but keeps them on his right hand.  the first ring is an engraved band and the second is a smaller band with a single stone set in the middle

that’s all i got right now lmao i was thinking a lot about weddings but i forgot most of them i wanted to share
