Update on Prompts

We wanted to share the prompts we have, and continue to ask for more prompts as well. We're announcing a new set of prompt ideas just for this year, too!

First off, here is an edited list of the prompts we have:

A few prompts were changed and/or combined, such as Pirate and Western AUs were combined and made “Historical AU,” Couple YouTube Channel is “Social Media” and so on. The idea is to make sure all prompts have some angle for anyone to approach. Also the standard “Rule 63” prompt was changed to also be more inclusive, while still allowing traditional fandom shenanigans.

This leaves us with 21 prompts so far. We will probably do two prompts a day from this list, taking the top 14 once voting happens. Prompt submissions will be accepted until Sunday, January 30th, so please continue to submit them as needed.

Secondly

We are going to introduce Dialogue Prompts. This will also be open to voting and the top seven will be selected. While us mods will have a few of our own, submissions will be great. If you don’t know what those are, they are a single to a few lines of dialogue that would be included in the work or just inspire it. An example would be:

Person A: It’s dark in here

Person B: Don’t worry dude I got this

Person B: *Stomps their feet*

Person B: *Skechers light up*

Or something like:

“What do you need me for?”

“For better or worse.”

“Give me a kiss, you beautiful idiot.”

In the former, You can pick who says what, whether it’s Beast Boy, Raven or a third/fourth person, or keep it as above, and let the prompted make that call. It would be best to keep dialogue prompts under six lines but that’s not a hard and fast rule. For the second type, keep it more open, again as shown.

You can send them as an ask, tag us in a post with a prompt you want to include, or submit a post to our submission box.

So that’s everything to update to you guys so far.

We’re so excited to see what more prompts come about, and what is the final prompt list after the voting concludes.

So glad I was able to participate for at least one day!

Raven knew.

She knew every time Garfield stopped in the middle of battle to offer her his hand.

She knew when he’d buy her bacon at the grocery store even though he refused to buy any of the beef cuts Cyborg put on the grocery list.

She knew when he put his headphones on whenever she walked into the common room to meditate.

Garfield liked her. More than just a friend.

He knew she knew. She’d been aware for months.

He knew the minute she gave up the front seat in the T-Car. She sat next to him in the back and purposely let her pinky fall next to his. She’d run her knuckle over the hairs on his pinky and he’d look out the window.

He knew on the night the tower was empty, when she sat next to him on the couch and drew up her knees close to her body. He was clicking away at his game. She was reading a book

He knew ever since she started looking at his eyes instead of his wounds whenever she healed him. Her energy seeping into him. They both let it dangle the air around them when they walked into the training room to spar. They just pushed their way through it. But something changed when Garfield pinned Raven’s legs up until her feet were at her head. Maybe it was the suffocating heat emanating from their bodies, leaving no room in the air for anything else. Maybe it was the undeniably erotic position they where in. Garfield was pressed tightly against her. The ridges of his body filling the ridges in hers. Or maybe it was the way they held the position for longer than necessary. So close that they can count the lashes on each other’s eyes but with no intent to move.

Garfield was the first to get up, releasing Raven’s leg slowly, smirk draped on his face. Raven’s face was immediately hot. She bounced up and dusted the back of her leggings.

“Good session,” she said, enthralled by the laces of her sneakers. She tried to make up for the lack of eye contact by reaching out to shake his hand. She cringed internally, unable to remember a time she shook one of her teammates hands. She made the mistake of looking up. Garfield’s smirk had not faded. His arms were crossed over his torso. He was daring her to address how thick the air between them had gotten.

She lifted a shoulder to her chin and parted her lips.

“I-”

She dragged her chin up until the skin of her face was being tickled by his stubble.

She kept her eyes open even when her lips were so close to his that speaking would inevitably lead to their lips meeting.

Finally, she closed her eyes and gave herself to it completely.

Here is my entry, i think I made it a little too grim. Beast Boy feeling like a failure not preventing his parents’ death and Raven always feeling nothing but a demon. They would comfort each other about it

Here we Go!

With things settling down around the world, it’s time to start talking about BBRae Week 2020. We will be doing this August 2-8, so you guys have a few months to work on coming up with prompts as well as start working on your wonderful art and stories!

Also new this year, we will be doing a BB Rae Week Zine! A roughly 24 page magazine filled with your stories and pictures of our favorite pairing. If you want your work included, just post during our week and tag it #zine, and we will mark it as a possible entry. Digital copies will be $5 and print copies will be $10. All money will go to charity.

We will need a cover for the Zine, and if you submit your art now, you may get that coveted role! We will even send you TWO prints to have and give away, as well as a editing credit. 

We already received some prompts, but we will accept more! So let’s do this!
