The thing is when people are for once not passing around misinfo is the way it’s presented or the language used is very often still antisemitic. People make those “slips,” so easily, “accidentally” saying “Jews” instead of “Israelis” or “IDF” in certain places. I’m just tired. I wish the bulk of tumblr cared about actually being vigilant about those things.

#or the original post isn’t misinfo but people will add misinfo onto it #like the thing about the idf stripping palestianian men and parading them around a square previously used in Hamas demonstrations #that appears to be true.#but the additions about a ‘mass grave’ or that we know those men were murdered? we don’t have any evidence of that. at least not yet #these were men who allegedly surrendered and therefore were being taken into custody #difficult to know how many of them might’ve actually been involved w Hamas or otherwise #idf said they were stripped to be searched for weapons but it’s still an act of callous humiliation #I think people see stuff like that and genuinely don’t care which parts are true or not.#bc they’re going oh well israel/the idf are evil anyways; so it MIGHT AS WELL all be true #and like. not how that works actually. facts do matter #it should be obvious but none of this is a defense of the idf. it’s just about caring about the truth.#people don’t care about facts though; they care about rhetoric. about the narrative in their heads #that much is clear #antisemitism #Israel
