5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Ethics Text on the Market to Date As a Counselor Educator and Counseling Psychologist, I feel that "Issues and Ethics In the Helping Professions" is one of the most nicely organized and well-written texts on counseling ethics ever written. I cannot think of another text I would choose over it to teach ethics to developing counselors. This text serves as an excellent source for the overview of ethical issues in counseling and related fields, as well as a guide to further reading. Corey, Corey, and Callanan expect readers to become involved in learning to deal with ethical and professional issues most directly influenced by the actual practice of counseling. The authors produce numerous useful examples for thought and discussion as well as well designed activities for the classroom setting. Even an instructor selects another text for her or his ethics course, the student should definitely consider purchasing this text as an ethics resource. This edition has also put more emphasis on the learning needs of School Counselors than past editions, although I hope to see it develop in this arena in the 6th edition. Go to Amazon

I just bought this book a couple weeks ago and it still has the 'content not available' messages all over the place. DO NOT BUY THE KINDLE VERSION. There is a lot of crucial information missing from the text. Please save yourself grief and buy the actual book. Go to Amazon

It is a great reference book to have on your shelf if you are going to be a threapist or if you are going to practice in mental health directly with clients. I have found it to be relatively easy reading and to be very realistic to the problems presented to most modern therapists. I will be keeping this book to use during my internship and practice. I would advise any potential advanced dergree seeking person in this field to purchase it. There are many situations presented in the book that one may find themselves caught in with a client. This book gives a very clear and thought out way to deal with such issues. It is very well written... Go to Amazon

3.0 out of 5 stars Major differences between 6th and 7th Edition! My 6th Edition arrived promptly and in excellent condition. Our course instructor had compared earlier editions when new one's were available in the past and noticed little difference. So, to save money, I bought the 6th Edition rather than the 7th and quickly found that there were some substantial changes that made it difficult to do a group study. Now, I see that new copies of the latest (7th) edition are available at a lower price than new copies of the 6th. Hopes this helps someone avoid this problem. Go to Amazon
