How DARE he! Who in all of God's army did he think he was? After what she'd witnessed, after the unknown game she'd been a part of. He had the audacity to emerge unannounced, unwelcomed, and demand to know what was unfolding between them. Her insides are set aboil; A steaming inferno brought on by the likes of Hades. Had her unexcused exit from the event, not spoken volumes? Were all his unanswered texts and calls not enough to tip him off? There was nothing to be said. It takes every ounce of resilience to withstand the urge to launch her bubbling beverage in his face. He had the gall to request honesty when he was the miscreant keeping secrets. Slinking around like a filthy rodent behind the curtains with a woman married to a business associate of her father.

"How did you get past Dustin?" Her tone is stony and demanding. "I specifically advised him not to let you in." She'd have to get her key back. "If there was anything to discuss I would have bothered returning one of your messages. Which, If I recall correctly, I purposely ignored." Valentine could be a tyrant when scorned and of all the people in her glorious universe, she never expected Seb to betray her.

it’s cruel what she’s done, casting a little spell on the girl’s lover to turn them off from her. essentially breaking sweet laura’s heart and sending her crying to mariska’s door. she might have felt bad if this isn’t exactly what she had wanted when she’d done it. “oh, sweet girl, come inside and tell me what’s happened.” she says, not hesitating to usher the girl past the threshold of her home with a hand resting just a touch too low on the girl’s back. “what’s got you in tears?” she questions, as if she doesn’t know already. it’s truly diabolical how well the woman plays the part of concerned mentor to the young apprentice when the reality is so much more sinister. leading the crying girl into her kitchen she let’s her take up a seat at the island standing in the center. leaning against the countertop she Mariska reached out to tuck a lock of the girl’s hair behind her ear, feigning affection all for the sake of getting closer to her goal.

“you’re the one who ended it...” he spoke in a cold tone of voice, in response to her outburst about his new relationship. her question whether or not it was easy seeing him with someone else, when she’d been the one who broke things off came as a surprise but he wouldn’t let it show, opting to light up a cigarette with a matchstick in order to act unfazed. inviting her to his new show at an opening at an up-and-coming gallery while pretending they could be friends, when they’d dated for over a year, had been a stupid idea. they now stood outside in the cold night air in some type of verbal showdown, when he should be inside enjoying the attention with his new girl on his arm.
