new FGO chapter has a node where you have to kill a wave of enemies in one turn it forces you to bring a Servant on your frontline that can do this with one NP. It specifically buffs him so that he can do it. Except for the slight hiccup that he can't charge his own damn NP. and also they force part 2 mash who does literally nothing for this

it's literally just a check of "did you bring a Servant who can charge an ally's NP" but there's no way to know that beforehand so either you're psychic or you fail it at least once

FGO is finally getting another 4* select ticket which means that at long last it is time for

FGO 6 anniversary thus far manages to be simultaneously neat and incredibly disappointing

-You can now level Servants to 120! But doing so requires an utterly absurd amount of EXP. I fed a full 20 gold EXP to Bryn, some of it 5* Lancer EXP, I got a Great Success, it took her maybe a tenth of the way to level 101. We’ve got Great Success rate up, this is the best time to make use of this, I already don’t want to do it.

-Raising the level cap from 100 -> 120 still requires Grails, and goes 2 levels at a time (10 grails! For a single Servant! On top of what it took to get them to level 100!). It also requires a new Servant-specific currency, based on bond and NP levels. (30 coins per 2 levels; for reference my NP1/Bond 10 Bryn got 170 coins; my NP5/Bond 9 Astraea got 210.)

-There’s new passives available that also use the Servant Coins, called Append Skills. Costs 120 Coins to unlock a skill (so 360 for all 3), they consist of Extra Attack Power Up (30-50%), Start Battle with NP Charge (10-20%), and a third that varies by Servant. After unlocking them you level them like normal skills.

-SSR Pick, which is great in that it’s a permanent thing that will be available to all players including future new players, I cannot stress enough that this is amazing, but also it’s only for non-limited SSRs from 2020 and earlier so as a long-time player there’s really not much there I, personally, actually want.

-You have to do a Memorial Quest to get the second Anniversary CE Ticket. The Memorial Quest in question is THAT FUCKING DEMETER FIGHT. I sure love tearing my hair out over horseshit boss fights!

Ok apparently Habetrot is just straight-up a welfare-style Servant

4*, is in the FP pool after completing LB6, has only one acension art + FA

Her third skill kills her at the end of the turn, but targets an ally to remove curse/poison/burn, give them HP regen for 5 turns, give them a Guts, and (if the ally is female) give 1-turn Invul

I’m down for getting a solid 4* healer/stargen support for free this is pretty great

fun fact: sometimes fgo gives you forced npc supports and also expects you to use them!

source: i just got bodied by a boss fight that can UN-BREAK ITS BREAK BARS because I plugsuited Percival to the back before using his NP

If you use Percival’s NP the break bars will stay broken and also it removes the boss’s 30k HP/turn healing and NP damage reduction buffs. (The existence of these buffs did not stop me from breaking the boss’s bar twice before Percival got back on the field, so imagine how well it’d have gone if I did it properly!)

transferred to an emulator so I can try streaming rolls after I finish Fire Emblem tonight but now I can’t play on my phone until I transfer back

there is of course also no password recovery system either if you should find yourself needing to transfer to a new device but didn’t get a bind code beforehand (or for that matter if you got a bind code but can’t find where you made note of it). even if you go into FGO on the device you bound from you can see the bind code but not the password that goes with it and it didn’t seem like there was a way to re-generate it.

this is. the worst way to handle this.

Ok so Chapter 24 of LB6 has a boss fight with a Berserker with three bars of health and something like ~250k HP per bar, along with:

-Clears two debuffs on itself every turn -Has standard Berserker offensive effectiveness, but is neutral to everything defensively -On first bar break, gains crit chance and crit damage buffs -On second bar break, gains a delayed buff that gives it attack up and crit chance up every turn, and ALSO gains the ability to clear ALL your buffs with every hit -Forced NPC Castoria support means you cannot bring either a friend support Castoria OR your own (LET ME USE MY OWN FUCKING SERVANTS THAT ARE IN MY GODDAMN ROSTER FOR CHALLENGING CONTENT DW GODFUCKINGDAMMIT)

And you DO have to win this fight, fuck you.

This was then followed up by

THE SAME THING, BUT AGAIN EXCEPT FOR THE BIT WHERE THERE’S THREE OF THEM THIS TIME

which thankfully you DO NOT have to win because what in the fuckdamn

oh also LB6.5 has new generic enemies that are labeled as Servants in battle based on the class card designs

big fan of the Lancer design, the Assassin looks like an off-brand Cursed Arm, the Berserker stands the same way Beowulf does

apparently Kriemhild has a line for Sieg where she notices his similarity to Siegfried, hears that his name is Sieg, and her reaction is basically

“no. absolutely not. you are CHANGING your name, young man, haven’t you ever heard of NOMINATIVE DETERMINISM? You’re going to get yourself killed doing something stupid and heroic with a name like ‘Sieg.’ Why are you looking away from me. What did you do-”

Apparently she also gets added to the FP gacha

gotta wait a bit to get paid quartz for it because buying stuff for JP account is a hassle but it’s GSSR time again so hopefully I can get Romulus

new FGO summer has Anastasia and Charlotte Corday, so that’s great, i need to roll for them with...uh...some pocket lint? I got like one ten-roll and that’s only after I finish scrounging the LB6 free quests.

also Anastasia’s a 4* Archer so I’m gonna call it now: I won’t get her, because trying (and failing) to roll 4* Archers is how I got into this mess
