My small collection of #makeup sponges. I got most of them from random brush sets and one or two packaged together with BB creams. I have to say, out of all of these, the #beautyblender really is the softest, and the least "dense," but I don't really mind using any of them (except for the round one. It's kinda hard to use). #makeuptools #makeupsponges #colouful #swirly #beautyblenderalternative #comparison #interestingshapes #differentshapes #makeupforfun #makeupfun #officialbeautyblender #soft #squishy #softandsquishy #bundledeals #foundationapplicationtools #makeupapplicator #review #makeuptoolreview https://www.instagram.com/p/CEiY6Hap58t/?igshid=7wod8p8jit4l

Hello and Happy Hump Day, Beauties!! I typically use brushes to apply my foundation and concealer, but definitely have some beauty sponges that are my jam. Since I know some of you are always on the hunt for great ones, I figured I’d share my faves with you.
I’m not largely into beauty sponges, per say. I just prefer the efficiency of a good foundation or concealer brush. However, when I am in the mood, I have a few beauty sponges that I will reach for before anything else.
I will tell you right off the bat that the Beauty Blender is NOT on this list. I absolutely REFUSE to spend $20 on a sponge that will just have to be replaced in a few months with regular use. No thank you, ma’am, and no shade to those of you that swear by them. I just can’t get with it, y’all. Twenty whole ass dollars for a sponge?! Nope, I won’t do it. Now, if I was gifted one, I’d gladly use it. Let’s be clear about that lol.
Anywho, here are my favorite beauty sponges.

The Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge is most definitely my favorite beauty sponge EVER. A single sponge is $5.99, but you can get the two pack for a smooth $10.99. This sponge is soft and bouncy, and I’m definitely into the flat edge of the sponge for applying powder underneath my eyes. The pointed end is great for getting into those corners and crevices of the face. You can even use this sponge dry and get fabulous results. Just like with every other beauty sponge on the planet, it will absorb some of your foundation, but not to the point where there’s more in the sponge than on the face. Oh, and here’s a bonus: For the holidays, you can get a pack of twelve sponges for $50. That’s enough sponges for the whole year!

Another beauty sponge that I’m into is the one from ecoTools. As seen above, the Perfecting Blender Duo, $9.99, comes with a larger sponge for the face as well as a smaller one that’s great for concealer. Just like the Real Techniques sponge, I find this sponge to be soft and squishy, although the ecoTools one is slightly more firm. Don’t worry, it doesn’t feel like a rock on the face or anything like that.
Here’s a closeup of the pair of sponges so you can see that one side is almost entirely flat, which makes it great for under eye powder or cutting your contour if you’re into that. Of the pair, I definitely use the smaller sponge more frequently. It’s perfect for concealer and under eye work. Neither sponge absorbs a lot of product either, which is always the goal.
My last sponges are from the Ulta house brand, Ulta Beauty. Their Super Blender sponges ($4.99 for the large sponge, $4.99 for the set of two small sponges) are THE BOMB!!!! Out of all of the sponges I’ve shared with you today, these are definitely the softest and the best value. Ulta has a bunch of other sponges in varying shapes and sizes, but these are my favorites out of all of them. While they don’t have that flat edge and side that I tend to like in my sponges, they make up for it with their softness. These are just fantastic. I don’t really know what else to say other than definitely recommending you pick these up. Ulta always has sales and coupons, so you can get an even better deal than the original price.
As a whole, I would highly recommend all of these sponges to you if you’re looking for a less expensive alternative to the coveted Beauty Blender. All of these are Regular Girl Approved for sure.
Have you tried any of these sponges? Do you have a holy grail beauty sponge you think I should try? Let me know in the comments below.
Until next time, Beauties!! xoxo
