that’s when i met your father, the boy of my dreams. the most beautiful man that i’d ever seen.
“mommy?”
you looked away from your coffee cup to meet your child’s bright eyes staring back at you.
“yes, honey?” you asked, smiling softly.
“what happened to my father?”
immediately, you felt your heart tighten. you had put off talking about your husband for as long as you possibly could. phil, techno, even tommy. everyone who cared for you worried about you. you had thrown yourself into caring for your child, barely even giving yourself time to feel.
“when you’re older, baby,” you tilted your head sympathetically.
the daughter clung to your leg, pouting up at you with puppy eyes. the same her father would make whenever he wanted a hug or kiss from you. you were never the disciplinarian. to be honest, neither of you were. you hoisted your daughter onto your lap, preparing yourself emotionally.
“well, since i was your age, i was convinced i would be a leader. no one could ever tell me i needed a husband, i thought boys were frivolous. while my friends would talk about crushes and cooties, i would talk about sword skills and the inner workings of our country. i never thought i’d need anyone. until i met your father…”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
you swung your wooden makeshift sword at a tree, grunting as it was stuck in the bark. you pulled at the handle, kicked at the stump, and eventually plopped down in the grass beside it, frustratedly.
“need some help?” a soft voice asked you.
a small boy your age crooked glasses and a yellow sweater he seemed to be quickly outgrowing.
“no. i can do it myself,” you huffed, brushing yourself off and attempting to pull the sword out again.
“my dad says it’s always best to accept help, even if you think you don’t deserve it.”
“my dad used to say if you can’t do things on your own, you shouldn’t do them at all.”
“your dad’s wrong,” the boy shrugged, leaning against the tree.
“do you mind?”
“i’m wilbur,” he grinned, sticking his hand out for you.
“i’m tired of this,” you folded your arms against your chest.
“well, tired of this. do you want to be friends?”
“my dad said friends make you weak,” you muttered, shifting from foot to foot.
“your dad’s wrong,” he repeated, smiling. “anyways. sometimes, everyone needs a knight in shining armor.”
with a swift hit to the handle in exactly the right place, the sword fell to the grass. your chest rose and fell as you glared at the weapon.
“thank you,” you mumbled.
“i’ll take a friendship as an apology.”
you rolled your eyes at him, a smile threatening to cross your face.
“fine.”
wilbur’s face lit up with a toothy smile.
“but,” you began, pointing a finger at him. “only because i owe you.”
“oh, of course,” he nodded, stifling a grin.
“y/n. my name. i’m y/n.”
“y/n,” he repeated. “i like it. i’ll see you around, y/n.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“and then what happened?”
your curious daughter that had been squirming in your lap, now settled, relaxing in your arms.
“well, a few years passed, and we became practically attached at the hip. inseparable…”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
i can tell by your eyes that you’re in love with me
“stay together- be safe!” phil called after the two of you, as if you would’ve gladly left the other alone.
“we will!” you chorused, already bolting away.
the once short and underdeveloped boy had grown into a lanky, somewhat scrawny teenager. stretch marks dotted his knees from an unexpected growth spurt at twelve. he had long since ditched his glasses, claiming that he was too mature for his crooked lenses. suspiciously, he had adopted the spectacles back once he had overheard a conversation between niki and yourself in which you told her you thought boys with glasses were cute.
the two of you flopped onto your backs at the same willow tree you had first met. it had become a memorial of the start of your friendship, a place you visited often.
clouds drifted through the sky, the both of you pointing out ones that looked like ducks and cats.
“d’ya ever think about your future?” wilbur asked you out of the blue.
“yeah. i’m gonna be a ruler. you can be one of my royal consorts,” you shrugged.
“what’s a consort?”
“i dunno, i heard my mom use it once. i suppose it’s like an advisor of some kind. you’re my second in command!”
“well, i’m fine being your second. as long as you don’t let it go to your head,” he nudged you, smiling.
you rolled your head to the side, meeting gazes with wil. his eyes searched your face, and for a second you were confused. you had barely even acknowledged the thought of crushes- you didn’t know what they felt like. later on, you could assume it felt a little like this.
the two of you leaned in, connecting your lips gently. neither of you had any clue what you were doing, it was both of your first kisses. as soon as it began, you pulled away. you didn’t miss the blush creeping into wilbur’s cheeks, just as he didn’t miss the smile you tried to hide behind your hand.
“i- crap. i li-“ wil stammered.
“i know.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“ew, cooties!”
“you’re right, cooties. that’s why you never kiss boys,” you pointed at your daughter.
“anyways, we loved each other. we had since the day we met, just were too young to know it…”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
im asking you, please. you know that i love you, will you marry me?
“gods, you look beautiful, honey,” niki cooed as she placed flowers behind your ears.
“you think so?”
“i know so! wil is going to be speechless.”
“we haven’t been out for weeks, with all of the battle preparations,” you sighed, placing your face in your hand.
“don’t remind me. there you are, perfect!” niki smiled, squeezing your shoulders gently.
“thank you so much, i owe you.”
“oh, hush. you owe me nothing,” she dismissed. “now, hurry! he’s waiting.”
there was a calm breeze as you walked to your willow tree. the air smelled floral and familiar, like it was curated just for you. you heard the soft strum of a guitar, and your steps quickened.
a grin plastered itself across your face as you saw your love, surrounded by blue petals and lanterns, plucking the strings of his instrument. it was a scene out of a movie as you took a seat in front of him. he smiled at you softly, not speaking until the melody finished.
“i love you,” he began, clasping his hands around your own. “i have loved you since i’ve known you. you are my muse, my meaning. without you, i’d perish beyond means. i promise i’ll care for you when you’re sick, when you take up half of the bed, when you insist on midnight walks- i’ll take it all.”
by now, tears of happiness were falling down your face, you practically already nodding.
“y/n y/l/n,” he started, pulling out a dark ring.
you interrupted him, throwing your arms around his neck and all but tackling him to the ground.
“will- you- marry- me-“ he laughed in between kisses. “i’ll take that as a yes.”
“yes, yes. of course it’s a yes, you idiot. i love you,” you smiled.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“but if you lived happily ever after, where’s dad?”
again, your heart felt pained. your eyes filled with tears as you squeezed your daughter’s hand.
“sometimes, it was just never meant to be…”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
please don’t be sad now, i really believe, you were the greatest thing that ever happened to me.
you were married as soon as possible, only your close friends and family invited to the wedding at the willow tree. a few months later, you were expecting. once you told wilbur, he was ecstatic. your family was growing. alas, the past few weeks had been strained. wil had grown further apart from you, feeling as if he were worlds away while he laid next to you. it all became clear, all the pieces clicking once the three of you stood in the final control room.
“wil, please. you’re going to have a child- you have me! you can’t do this, think of everyone,” you pleaded as phil held your arm.
“i’m sorry, my love. truly. i wish there were another way. i will never stop loving you. never,” he smiled sadly, his fingers dancing across the button that would annihilate your entire nation.
“it was never meant to be.”
phil held you close as you sobbed, his shouts at his son drowned out by the sounds of explosions. once the dust settled, you saw your boy, the same one who had always had the brightest eyes, dull and lifeless as he stared at you.
“i love you,” he mouthed as he nodded at phil.
you didn’t quite understand what was happening, not until it happened. your hand flew to your mouth to muffle your screams as the man’s blade plunged itself into it’s target. you scrambled to your lover, his soul already left his body. you cradled him in your arms as long as you could before his father had to carry you away from him.
from that day forward, you pledged to throw everything you could into daughter- the legacy of your late husband. you swore you’d never leave her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
don’t let it get you, i can’t bare to see the same happen to you.
“he’s gone?” she breathed out, tears falling down her little face.
“yes,” you sniffled, failing to hold back your own tears. “yes, he’s gone. but he loved us very much, even if he never got to meet you.”
your daughter clung to your shirt, not fully understanding everything. you would explain to her later more in depth, when she was old enough to understand.
“you were his unfinished symphony. his little melody,” you smiled down at her.
melody would learn to understand her father through stories from you, her uncles, and her grandfather. the two of you continued to visit his final resting place- the willow tree you had buried him at. for a while, it had only reminded you of misery, memories you’d never get to relive. but, ever since melody had been born, the tree was rejuvenated. it even seemed to sway as if it were listening when you spoke.
your wilbur, his love, and your baby, melody.
your symphony.

i'm back whoops (part two of mitjo ghost au)
Submitted by @captainredd
Run. I was in the woods again. The trees leaning over twisted distorted far more then anything else. The wailing sirens from the car pounding into my skull until it sounded like screaming, maybe that was me screaming. Run. Thickets scraped my knees and branches pulled at my clothes. My feet felt like led and my lungs burned but I still couldn’t stop. I didn’t dare turn around. Run faster. God dammit run faster! I was slowing down. No that wasn’t right I was still running at the same pace. But the world around me was speeding up. The siren whirling, the sky changing over and over night and day. All the voices getting closer now so morphed together it was like a hideous wave of collapsing voices begging to be heard. Run! God run Jonas you insufferable bastard can’t you run any fas- a branch caught my foot and fell.
“oof!” my head smacked against the wooden floor as my feet hung above my body still tangled in bed sheets. My breath was shaky and I could feel the tight skin of my cheeks where tears were drying. Home. I was home. I was in bed. I was in my room. I was home.
“Jonas if you don’t get up soon dean’ll tear you a new one for missing the bus.” and I was late. I struggled to kick myself free before sitting up and taking a few hesitant breaths. It’s just a dream. It is just a dream…
“I don’t know jonas it sounds like a premonition to me. Could be more than just a nightmare.” why was I friends with him again? I leaned against my locker door trying to keep my eyes open. I got tons of sleeps but that didn’t stop me from being exhausted. Somewhere behind me Lewis and Sid were arguing. “I’m just saying having the same dream for weeks? It means something. Probably way out of our powerful comprehension.”
“how you don’t realize those alien theory shows are rotting your brain is beyond my comprehension. He’s probably just stressed by school. When winter break hits he’ll be totally fine again right bro?” I nodded not even bothering to look up. The bell rang and people started filing towards class. My sister grabbed my shoulder and smiled. “Hey don’t let him get to you. You’ll be just fine. I’m sure of it.” I thanked her. She pulled me into a hug and ruffled my hair. I half fought half laughed. “I mean you better be fine. You still gotta help me with my art project. Can’t do that if you kick the bucket.” I broke free and promised her I’d be fine. We parted and I was just about to leave when I stepped on something.
“huh?- hey!” my drumstick. I had been looking for that earlier, I was starting to worry I lost it at that dumb park but, shoot it’s broken. I picked up the pieces and noticed faint scratches on it. Wait that kind of looked like let- Brrriiiiiiiing oh no I’m late. I’ll just have to get a new one for practice later. I threw the broken one in the trash as I hurried down the hall to science.
*
Really? Again? If I weren’t dead and incapable of feeling shit I’d be hurt. For a nerd he didn’t seem to read anything. Fuck I wasn’t gonna give up that easily. I took the cig from behind my ear and plucked it in my mouth and reached in my pocket for a ligh-dammit right. I looked around and grinned seeing the worn out door labeled ‘Boiler Room.’ perfect.
*
Mr. Newman was a kind god sent who didn’t notice when students were a little late. Well he didn’t notice much of anything (kind of a push over) but hey I wouldn’t notice much if I had glasses thicker than my thumb either. So it was easy to sit in the back of his class and do whatever as long as you were quiet. Which was good because I didn’t think I had the ability to stay up through one of his lectures. Even half asleep I could feel the edges of my brain picking up where we left off. Blurry trees scraping at the corners of my vision, the taste of coppery blood in my mouth, and the absolute stench of-
“Smoke!” um no I was going to say dirt. However the girl still screamed smoke and I was brought back to reality. The sound of dozen chairs scraping as smoke seeped in from the open door. The fire alarm went off shortly after.
“Alright alright no one panic let’s get in an order-I said orderly fashion, oh for the goodness sake just get to the field without killing each other please!” the squat man ushered us outside leading away from the smoke, classes everywhere confusingly poured out of each room and towards the football field. I followed with went I heard laughter.
That laugh
It wasn’t something I heard before but felt so damn familiar. I saw a figure dart down a hall. I turned around, Mr. Newman wasn’t paying attention. I turned back but the figure was gone. Without thinking I went after it. It was like a scene out of a horror movie, the hallway was empty but filled with the echos of student’s faint voices. The smoke made everything hazy and I could swear it made some of the school posters look like they were floati- “Hahaahaha” there was that laugh again. Only this time there was a body to it. At the end of the hall. The kid was sitting on a windowsill half his body leaning inside and the other out. A cigarette in his hand.
“seems a bit redundant the do that now doesn’t it?” the guy stopped laughing and stared at me. It might have been the fumes burning my eyes but the way I couldn’t quite make out his face but felt the icy stare was giving me an unsettling feeling in the pit of my stomach.
“Jonas Wagner?” a hand grabbed my shoulder and I nearly jumped out of my skin. I turned around to face the principal. “What are you doing where’s your class?” I looked back but the guy had left. Must have ditched seeing her come on.
“Uh”
“Well come along then. The less children get charbroiled the bigger my end of the year salary is.” we both headed out towards the field…
As it turns out the boiler room had caught on fire. A spark in the fuse box or whatever. Dean wasn’t pleased. “Do any of these places even TRY to use precautions to this kind of thing or do they just HOPE the ENTIRE SCHOOL doesn’t blow up by accident? I swear what am I even PAYING that school for? It’s not like you would even make it out if that happened. HEY didn’t I tell you to slow down? Jesus Christ Jonas it’s called chewing.” that had been a fun dinner. But I wasn’t really in the mood for eating anyway. I excused myself upstairs after dishes and flopped onto my bed. Homework was out of the question. My body was exhausted and my brain wasn’t planning on shutting down anytime soon.
I wasn’t sure when I fell asleep but the woods were back. I wasn’t running though, the sirens weren’t whirring and dogs weren’t barking. This forest wasn’t distorted in fact it was kinda calming. A lightening bug buzzed around and I held out my hand for it to land. It did so momentarily before suddenly taking off. “Ha hey wait up” I walked at a comfortable pace. The lightening bug always ahead but never out of sight. I vaguely remembered the path. A trail were there wasn’t enough sun to grow anything but there was always…I heard the rushing water. Faint enough that I had to strain to hear. The lightening bug sped up and starting flickering out. “No wait come on don’t leave yet.” I picked up the pace chasing after it. It dove behind a large branch and pushed through it. “Come on please don’t-” I stopped. The cove. I was at the cove. Heck I hadn’t been here since me and Sid were tiny. Dirt faded into sand which faded into lapping waves of the lake. Small boulders protruded from the ground some peeking out just above the water. God they had seemed so giant before. I ran my hand over one of them, the “S” carved on top. We had played a rigorous game of king of the hill for who got to write there name on top. I almost had her. Almost. Out of the corner of my eye I could see the flickering light. “Ha gotta!” I spun around and my stomach dropped. It was the guy again. He leaned against one of the boulders legs crossed and chin resting on his hand. The lightening bug landed on the palm of his and he crushed it in a fist. “y-y-you’re…”
“It’s m-m-me wagnerd. My question though-” he stood up, he was tall as heck, lanky but easily could do me some damage. I backed up tripping over myself. The world around me started twisting again, the sirens coming in and im sure the dogs were close to follow. A green mist floated around me. “Is how can such a loser nerd see me?” he towered over me, leaning down and I swear I could smell the campus fire from yesterday. “Boo!” I flinched and he pulled back laughing. “HAHA hahahaa Haaahah ahaahhaaa aaaa aaaa aaa…
aaa aaa aaa
I sat up in bed. Light nearly blinding me from the opened. My alarm clock blaring still.
Aaa aaa a-
I struggled the find the off button and gave up just pulling it from the outlet. Another dream. It was just another dream. But it felt real. Nope nope no not thinking that nope. I hoped out of bed and grabbed my board and my backpack. As I tip-toed downstairs I could here Sid in the living room. Lying through her teeth no doubt how I was getting ready and I hadn’t felt like eating breakfast today is all. God that woman was a saint. I snuck out the front door and a few minutes later Sid came out too. “Ew dude are you wearing the same thing from yesterday?”
“You wear the same jacket all the time.” she laughed and punched my arm.
“Got me there bro.” the bus pulled up and some began another day.
“-For this assignment you’ll need to be paired up into partners.” I peeled myself off the table a looked around however how many times had I counted student out of bored? I knew what was coming next. “Mr. Wagner seeing as you don’t have a partner you can either join another group or do the modified single project.”
“I can do the project by myself just fine.”
Briiiiiiiiiiiing
After school I said goodbye to Sid and Mads and skated out of school. Since mot of Sellwood was going to the game tonight the roads were peacefully quiet. The cold wind blowing against skin was nice without having to swerve every time you thought you saw a headlight. I was half way home when I slowed down to watch the trees. Not an unfamiliar sight the whole town was littered with them. In the fall there was so many leaves on the ground you couldn’t take two steps without hearing leaves crunch. But I didn’t mind. Kicked up my board and stared into the woods. I shouldn’t but… last night’s dream echoed in my ears. Well my project was about the flood after all. I glanced around but there was nobody around save a few parked cars. I smiled and stepped where pavement met dirt.

Neighbour In Danger
MXM's / Produce 101's Im Youngmin X Reader
TW: mentions of alcohol, smoking, violence, sexual harassment
Word count: 1868
• You're walking back down a shady ass lane after school
• it's hella creepy so something's bound to happen
• neighbour! Youngmin ( saves the day ) says hi
• ft. created character Jessica
⚠️ ATTENTION ⚠️
YOUNGMIN HAS DEBUTED WITH DONGHYUN AS MXM ( alpaca and buffalo ) AND I AM LIVING THANK YOU
thank you for requesting this anon, hope you like it :))) sorry it took SO INCREDIBLY LONG I SHOULD QUIT
Fun fact: my school actually has night study sessions
________
You groaned, rubbing your temples and slammed your mathematics textbook shut, the sudden thud cut through the graveyard like silence in the library yet every student was too focussed on their material to even flinch at the noise.
You glanced at the clock.
10.12 pm.
You should have started to head back home about an hour ago, as your house was pretty far away from your college but of course, you were too engrossed in your notes and hadn't realised how fast time had flown by. It had been an exhausting Friday at school, the last thing you wanted was to stay any later for night study.
Your best friend, Jessica, who you had come to the night study session with, barely noticed when you stood up and pushed you chair in. Of course, you could wait for her to wrap up and take a taxi home together but she lived within walking distance... it was late and dangerous for anyone out though.
"Jess, let's go. It's so late already," you hissed, tapping on her shoulder.
She nodded, packing up her books and stationery. You bid the sleeping librarian goodbye and ventured out into the night. It was weird to see campus which was usually bustling with life deserted like a ghost town.
"There's no way we can get a taxi at this hour, school's too inconvenient. We have to walk out and I might as well just walk home," Jess said, half asleep.
"Do you want me to walk you home? Are you okay?" You offered.
"No, no. Thanks but you stay really far away and I don't want to detour you any further. Walk out. Grab a taxi, go home," Jessica insisted, declining your offer.
She had a point, a good one at that.
So, you hugged her goodbye and made sure she was safely across the street until you flagged a taxi and began your journey home. It was so dark in that part of town it made you shudder, at least around campus was better lit but this estate is more rundown than the one I live in, you thought.
I hope my parents have gone to sleep already, waiting for me would be too late.
"Oh my god!" You yelped as the taxi ran over something, after that, something felt amiss. "Uhm..."
"Sorry miss, I think it's a flat tire. This is how far I can bring you. My apologies, I hope you get home safely," the driver apologised as you paid him for the ride.
"It's okay, accidents happen. Goodnight, be safe," you replied despite the displeasure of walking the remaining journey home. You knew there was a stretch of famous bars before your house, it was pretty freaky at night and you hated to even look at it, much less walk pass.
Whatever, I'll just ignore them and have the police on speed dial.
When you stuffed your hand into your pocket, you discovered you had forgotten to bring along your ear pieces. Now you had to just put up with the horrible and loud music playing from the clubs.
Is today just a series of unfortunate events?
Slowly but steadily, you stumbled along the street that lead to your house. To your delight, it did get more brightly lit as you ventured closer towards the more developed housing estate but you knew what was coming up soon. Maybe I should have just crashed at Jessica's penthouse......
...
You shivered but not because of the cold gust of wind that blew by. Your ears could already pick up the sound of shitty music in a near region. To make matters worse, it was a Friday night. To clubbers, the night was still young and you knew more people would be arriving to party.
The stretch approached, it was just across from where you hid, behind a large tree. You hoped you could avoid it.
Should I call my dad to come and get me?....No! No! He's probably sleeping after working so hard... or he's still in the hospital working.
You shook your head free of unreasonable ideas and inhaled a deep breath. "Okay, Y/N. You can do this, there's nothing to be afraid of," you told yourself then poked your head round to check.
Ew, there were people smoking outside.
Not that you had anything against it or them, you just hated the smell of smoke. Tentatively, you took a small step but quickened your pace as you passed club after club, bar after bar. You tuned out to the wolf whistles, cat calls and shouts, trying to attract your attention.
"Hey! You! School girl!" ( that kink can fcking die already )
"Someone's got cake!"
"Join us!"
You forced yourself to look away and continued walking, jogging almost.
"Hey! Come back!"
"Don't ignore us!"
You could feel the anxiety and fear bubbling inside of you. The second you heard a beer bottle smash on the ground and fast footsteps approaching, you tore off down the road.
...
Thud. Thud. Thud.
You weren't sure if that was the sound of your heart or the sound of footsteps pounding on the pavement. Beads of perspiration trickled down the side of your face but you didn't even stop to wipe it off, all you could concentrate on was making a break from those weird guys.
But of course, you were beyond dead-tired and your heavy bag and books weighed you down tremendously. There was no way you could outrun them... but you had to try. The ground was bumpy and made it hard for you to get a stable grip, your ankles throbbed from all the exertion. The tears which had welled up in your eyes because of your fear started to drip down your cheeks when you felt your legs buckling in, worn out.
"Aww, she's crying." One of them said, slime dripping from his words. Another yanked you up by your hair, causing you to scream. "She's a loud one. Let's see how loud she can really be tonight."
"Don't touch me!" You shouted, kicking but it was useless, they were just too strong for you. Their chortles disgusted you to no end and you wanted it to all end but there was only one ending to situations like these. You felt fury, not fear rise in your chest. You opened your mouth to retaliate but someone cut you off.
"Hey!"
There wasn't time for the first dude to react, he was on the floor, knocked out cold with his nose bleeding profusely in seconds.
Your eyes shot up to the person who had punched him but it became a blur after that. Managing to wrangle free from the other man's grasp, you escaped to a safer corner while a knight dressed in a black hoodie and black jeans battled with the other two sickos. He seemed to be really young, you got a glimpse of his face.
Wait, wasn't that Im Youngmin? My new neighbour? He had briefly introduced himself a few weeks ago.
You couldn't be sure but at least you had a suspect.
Wow, he's so strong...and handsome. Shut up! This isn't time for you to be thinking about that!
You blushed at the memory of you watching Youngmin watering his plants shirtless early in the morning as you were doing some morning stretches.
Y/N, no!
You gasped when Youngmin didn't notice the other man come up from behind with a glass shard, he was too busy fighting the other one off.
Instead of yelling 'look out' helplessly, you grabbed your 10cm thick, hard cover with 400 pages of text mathematics textbook and ran forward. There was an advantage from a back attack, using all your might, you brought the book down on the man's head, before he could spin round, you hit him again with the book and he collapsed on the ground, writhing in both shock and pain.
Hmm, I suppose math textbooks are now important.
Youngmin managed to subdue the other guy, he didn't take a second glance but grabbed your arm and together, raced down the street.
...
"Wow, Miss Y/N. I didn't know you were such a badass," he finally broke the silence.
Playing along, you scoffed, "That's my neighbourhood you moved into, kid. You don't know anything." But despite your brave exterior, you were still badly shaken from the incident, your clammy palms was a dead giveaway.
"Hey, you okay?" Youngmin asked in a soft, comforting tone. He even stopped in front to look you in the eye. Cautiously, as if not to spook you, he placed his hands on your shoulders to steady you.
Your breath caught at the sudden close proximity but Youngmin didn't seem affected by it so you tried to control yourself. "I-i'm fine...thanks."
"You sure? That was... a really rough incident you had," he asked again.
You nodded, unable to manage uttering words, at least intelligibly.
"Why were you out so late?"
"I could ask the same for you."
"Ahh, there she is. The infamous little chilli padi I hear about from my neighbours. Well, Donghyun wanted to watch a movie but we realised we had like zero snacks so he sent me out on a convenience store run," he revealed without hesitation.
Donghyun? Another other attractive boy?
But you couldn't lie and say that you weren't more attracted to Youngmin, especially after he had saved you. "College night study session," you answered, looking down at your feet as you continued walking.
"Ahh! It must be finals season. Well, all the best, study hard."
"T-thank you," you whispered, face reddening.
"Aww! You're so cute!" Youngmin complimented, his eyes twinkling brightly.
You were grateful you arrived at your gate, unable to tolerate anymore of the handsome boy who had rescued you. "Uhm, thanks...really...f-for w-what happened just now," you stammered out, ashamed.
Youngmin adopted a more sincere tone and posture. "Hey, don't worry about it. Please take care of yourself, okay? Don't be too shaken by it, I know it's scary and traumatic but I'm right across the street. I'll come when you call me. Please do. Okay?"
Giggling, you agreed, at least it helped you banish whatever had just happened from your mind for now. "How about I come over tomorrow?" You boldly suggested.
Youngmin clapped. "Wow. A pretty girl wants to come over to my house. How can I say no?" He smiled at you. "Sure, I can introduce you to Donghyun. I think he'll love you....Well, goodnight Y/N....Oh! Let’s go to the police station tomorrow, I’m not going to let those bastards off.” He waved goodbye and blew a kiss.
You pretended to catch it, "Goodnight, don't dream of me too much."
You knew Youngmin was watching to make sure you entered your house safely. Tonight had been wild, it was scary and something you would never forget. At least Youngmin was there to help. You settled onto your bed, sighing, cheeks blushing bright pink. You could see from your window that Youngmin was opening the gate to his own house, he had got home safely too.
That made you feel more assured that your new crush friend was safe.
