i've been wanting to speed up the process and maybe??? get it out before saya shows up in silk 2023?? but it's 10k words and i'm not sure if it's close to finished😭😭 but we will see!! we will persevere through the pain 👍🏽

27: A kiss as a suggestion

just a Suggestion

“No. Absolutely not.”

“Why not? Call it… a business proposition. It would be beneficial for both of us.

“ Dating you? ” A business proposition? Cindy’s mind is reeling. When Saya approached her earlier, this is not what she had thought would come of the meeting.

“ Fake dating,” Saya corrects, pushing off the table and moving toward where Cindy’s standing, incredulous, in the middle of the room. “It’d be beneficial to both of us, being seen with each other. Think about it for five seconds, Cindy, and you’ll see how it’s a good idea. You’d gain more recognition as Silk.”

“And you? What do you get out of this deal?”

“Media attention. Good media attention.” Saya tosses her hair out of her eyes and looks her over. There’s a grin playing at her lips. “Besides the fact that you’re ridiculously hot.”

Cindy shakes her head, fights the heat that rises to her face, but before she can speak, Saya says: “Fine. Let me convince you.”

And then Saya’s hand is cupping her cheek, lips touching the underside of her jaw and then to the base of her throat, feather light. Cindy’s mind stutters to an abrupt halt.

Saya’s lips curl into a slow smirk as she settles back. “In the end, it’s just a suggestion.” Her gaze drifts downward for a moment, before coming back up to meet Cindy’s. “Think about it, yeah?” 

The sheer fucking audacity she has. Cindy wants to be mad. She sucks in a slow breath in an attempt to cool her cheeks; clears her throat. “Hell of a way to suggest. ”

“Aww. Are you complaining?” Saya lists her head to the side, her smirk has only grown wider. She takes a step forward, heels clicking against the tile. “I can be more persuasive, if you’d like me to… try again.”

Cindy fights the urge to take a step backward at the look in her eye, at how breathy her tone has gotten. There’s a table close behind, and she’s not going to be cornered against it by Saya. She’s not .

But Saya continues to approach, closing the distance between them with each practiced, weighted step, and somehow her thighs are pressing up against the edge. She holds Cindy’s eyes as she brings her hand back up, tucks a strand of hair behind her ear, lightly cups Cindy's jaw, tilts her head and studies her, assessing. She’s so close now that her breath brushes Cindy’s lips when she speaks. “You’re not going to stop me.” It’s said with absolute certainty, like she knows. Maybe Saya can see it in her face. Cindy’s lips part; she can see the exact moment that Saya notices. 

“So what are you waiting for?”

Saya grins as she closes the rest of the distance to Cindy’s lips.

during the school year i procrastinate by writing. i call it "productive procrastination"😭

i write in a mix of by hand and google docs! when i get in bed i just. write any ideas i have down in a physical notebook. all of it is barely legible and barely coherent.

i write angst for the sole reason of cackling when people are broken by it🧍🏽‍♀️
