Fluttering her lashes up at him, she looked up at Ben as if to ask if he could help her. In truth, Bri had taken a pottery class or two back in her high school art classes and she had done pretty well at it. But, it had been years, so a lesson from her very handsome professor of a boyfriend wouldn't exactly hurt, would it?

truthfully, this wasn’t the first time she had been cheated on. and in a world full of dipshits like this, it probably wouldn’t be the last. present company excluded. brie was sad, yeah. but maybe a little less so than she thought she would be. the relationship hadn’t been more than two months long, coming to a very abrupt end when she came home to their shared apartment and found her girlfriend on the bed with another lady. and that was the end of it. so now here she was, hanging out with the only person she really wanted to be with right now. laying on her back in the bedroom, with a half eaten carton of ben and jerry’s pistachio ice cream in one hand and a spoon in the other. “ we could use insulin to do it. i’ve heard it doesn’t appear on most tests they run on dead bodies. ”

"Okay, so I'm going to preface that I have likely once again went a bit too overboard. But, I'm going to need you to bare with me and just go with it, okay?" She asked, extending out her hand for him to take as she held the door to the library open for him. Bri was well aware that Ben was more of a low key guy, while she clearly didn't ever learn the definition of low key, having signed up for the Hideaway's Cupid's Getaway on a whim. But, while they clearly weren't dating long enough, to do any grand romantic gesture with roses and the works, maybe there was a way to find a nice in between. "Ta dah?" She hesitantly offered up as she walked them into the empty library that in deed looked like a library. There was no sign of Valentine's decorations in sight, but as they entered the room, she did place a boom box she had been carrying on the center table. "We have the library to ourselves for an hour and, I figured the one thing you can never do in a library, right, is be too loud, so now we can either grab some books and plop down over in the bean bag chairs to read or play music and be as loud as we'd like? Oh! I also brought this too, in case," She offered up, finishing a bottle of champagne out of her bag and two glasses. "This okay or did I fail at being a girlfriend once again?" She asked, half teasing.

"Okay, now open them," She whispered into his ear as she dropped her hands from where she had previously been cupping them over his eyes. "Ta-dah!" She exclaimed, taking a few steps back so he could get the full view of beach that was privately there's. "And before you freak out, I can explain," She promised him. Biting down on her bottom lip as she began to fidget with the many rings she was wearing, twirling them around her fingers as she peaked back up at him. "We've all been through so much and, with Jonah and Rohan's wedding coming up, they mentioned that they didn't have anywhere to go for their honeymoon and they can't leave town, which is a sentiment I get with the whole what if I go some place and someone recognizes me and freaks out because I'm alive and not dead thing and in terms of us. So, I was just going to find them an Air BnB in town they could go to, but then my realtor told me about this place and since we just got an offer on the house, I figured why not use that money to invest here? This way Ro and Jo can use it for their Honeymoon, but can't get mad at me for spending too much since I technically spent it on my self, but then I'll have my own sliver of paradise we can escape off to too and I was going to wait to bring you out here until after the wedding, but I don't know. You seemed really stressed after that Council meeting, so I figured we could spend the day here and it's only a thirty minute boat ride back to shore, so we can leave whenever you want to? Is it too much? I just figured it might be nice to have a place the whole family could go to and Ronnie, but maybe it's too much."

"Morning Trouble," Bri mumbled softly out as she curled even more into Ben's side from underneath the covers. It only took one peak at the room around them for images of last night to come flooding back to her. Her cheeks flushed a bright red as she moved to hide her face against Ben's shoulder and shield herself from the morning light that was beginning to peak through the curtains. "Or should I say Mademoiselle?" She teased, given how the maid costume he had been wearing was now strewn around the room along with her own clothes and some fallen books they must have knocked off the shelf last night.

"I'm still in one piece, promise," She whispered out, not pulling away just yet as she gave him another tight squeeze. Burying her face in the nap of his neck for a prolonged moment before her arms finally lowered back down to her sides. She could have told him that he didn't need to keep checking on her like this, but truth be told, it was nice to know that she wasn't going through all this alone. The one plus side to being a vampire that she was quickly learning was that she didn't have to sleep if she didn't want to. The fear of closing her eyes and being right back at those faire grounds having to die over and over again still sent a shiver down her spine. But, even with staying up, she completely escape her own mind. At least not when she was alone. "But, since you did come all this way, any chance you want to come inside? I have takeover and my own collection of books you can count?" She tried to tempt him.

"Ben!" Bri exclaimed happily. Emerging from the shadows, a few feet in front of him, she didn't wait a second before she threw her arms around his neck. "Hey Trouble or should I say boyfriend?" She let out a gleeful giggle at the thought. "Did you see what I can do now? And-" Only as her face brushed against his neck, a moan took over her. "Mhm. You smell so good and I'm so hungry. I was momentarily craving burgers and fries, but then Briar mentioned blood again and, god, yours smells even better than hers."

"And you said you weren't a poet," Bri hummed out, peaking over at Ben with a hint of amusement dancing across her gaze as she thought back to how the man had been reciting sonnets at the main entrance with J.C.'s Shakespeare just before they had ran into each other in the Enchanted Forest. "So, Trouble, or should I say Charming? You know I feel like I should get royalties for coming up with that name for you first, just saying. But, are you more of a flowery language or flower guy yourself, out of curiosity?" She asked, motioning with a tilt of her head towards one of the flower peddlers up ahead, entertaining the idea of buying him a rose depending on the answer.

Christmas, is a collector’s edition copy of Grimm’s Fairy Tales, illustrated and with 60 of the brothers’ most well-known stories. While this edition makes a lovely coffee table decoration, it’s just a nice to read. Inside is a handwritten note: 

“The real fairytale has been getting to know you, and I believe this one has a happy ending. Love, Trouble”
