I love playing with light, and my goal is always to showcase the world in a different way. Of course I will do some "safe shots" but as soon as I get them I will start to experiment. If you look at my previous post and compare it to this one you will realize it's the same couple, at the same spot, probably just few seconds of difference. I was offline for a while but it was a great opportunity to reflect back. After my 3rd year as a wedding photographer and a sense of progress every year, I can only say It was worth the risk to enter full throttle in this industry called weddings. And no matter how difficult and saturated the market is these days, I believe there is still a place for anyone who wants to dedicate themselves 200% and work hard. Something always pushes me to explore new territories, especially those where I don't feel comfortable. My first public speech at the Blenda Conference was a proof for that (read: #stagefright ) but I felt really fulfilled to share something and give back to the photo community. It's a general rule that for good cinematography you need photography skills. That's true. But for good storytelling in photography you also need cinematography skills. I used to do wedding cinematography in my beginnings. I loved it as much as I love photography now. By beeing a movie addict, I can say that cinematography maybe left the biggest influence on my work. Few weeks back I was at the wedding in #sarajevo with a great cinematographer and a great guy #ivancrnjak He just published a highlight video from that wedding. I love the getting ready part of the wedding day, especially if it's quiet and calm, but I will adapt to each situation. It’s important to know what's your personal preference. Decide early on whether you want a quieter morning of getting ready alone, getting ready with just a couple of your closest friends, or having a room full of people around. It's up to you. I spent the last week on the road, visiting 4 countries and going to visit the 5th today. It was a mixture of work, pleasure and family time. Let’s face it! #flowers just aren’t going to last. Some people dry them, but they are never going to look the same as they did on the wedding day. That's where photographing details gets into play. #memories are just like flowers, they wither or fade but if photographed, they will always shine. Instead of photographing them by themselves, or getting the bride holding them (still do it sometime) i try to incorporate an element of a story in detail shots.
