he was always happy, not a bad thing, supposedly. you'd see him laugh and talk with everyone but you were the only one who could see through his facade.

you hated it.

you hated how he'd seem so happy, when in reality, he wasn't. you didn't hate him. you just hated this part of him.

you hated fake people — people who weren't genuine and were secretive. you despised such people but you wondered what was different. you wondered what was different about him.

"you know, you don't always have to smile all day." you realised you caught him off-guard by the looks of his expression.

"i mean.." you fidgeted, looking down, you didn't want to come off as rude, you were just worried. he was making you worried. "i come to you whenever i've had a hard day at work, i end up crying to you but in minutes, i'm laughing until my stomach aches."

"you're what keeps me going," you continue. "you're there for me, i know that, but you never let me be there for you. i want to be able to comfort you at your worst, i can't give up on you, so please, don't give up on yourself, i want to live my life with you, beomgyu." you almost choke.

but why would you like a liar?

"thank you for being here, with me," he stems the silence, his voice slightly cracking. you look up almost immediately after hearing him speak. you suddenly fixated on his glistening eyes as you notice his lips beginning to tremble as you slowly walk towards his embrace. you engulf him, muttering soft whispers while drawing circles on his back as he stuffs his head into the crook of your neck hearing soft sniffles here and there.

this was your first time seeing beomgyu vulnerable. obviously, you resented every moment of it, but you were grateful, grateful that beomgyu finally showed a side of himself you'd been waiting for. waiting to comfort and embrace
