“Are you sure this is a good idea, Bessika*?”, she asked, quietly.
“Oh no”, said Besslinda who was dying of Love. And leaning in for another kiss she added: “This is a terrible, terrible idea.”
* possessive, affectionate Ninuanni diminutive for Besslinda
With this one I somehow slipped and fell into the cool colours zone. I was experimenting with ways to do interesting shading and then the top image happened. But I spent too much time on colouring and shading earlier to waste all that effort so I also made the compromise version below.
This is kind of a concept piece. My idea for Bessy's Bed & Breakfast.
It's situated on the highest rooftop of the living district on the island she lives on, overlooking a gorgeous vista of the beach and some ominous pyramids in the waters below and around. Up there, any traffic noise is pretty quiet, and together with the greenery on the rooftop, her BnB is a serene little haven.
You may begin to see what inspired this campaign's setting... ovo
I actually drew very little of this by the way. I am experimenting more with assets lately, and with using them to quickly mock up or block in more complicated ideas I have so that I can still easily communicate them. These are almost entirely assets from the CSP store or algenpfleger's brush packs.
Also, @nichtschwertart went in and refined some stuff, like adding the reflections of the pyramids. I really love how much they can add to any image with just a few strokes!
New Campaign, new Bessy! Her standard outfit has changed a little as she now owns a bed & breakfast and my research tells me that as such, she must now wear simple dresses and big cardigan jackets!
Bee cupids. Beepids. Cubees. This isn't easy to pun.
I've recently revised Bessy a lot for a new campaign of Glitch I've started with some new friends! And I wanted to make her Bane (she's dying of Love) a bit more... family friendly, you could say?
Basically when I played with just my SO alone, I felt fine playing around with concepts of obsessive, destructive love in terms of it warping people. Downright inspired by Junji Ito's "Tomie" in some ways. But I wanted something lighter for playing with new people, especially since we decided to record and publish the episodes later.
So now, Bessy's Bane is expressed through a strong allergy to Cupid arrow stings. Where most people feel those as a gentle butterfly flutter in their stomach's and a heart beating slightly faster, Bessy literally gets sick from them. More than one or two can actually do her in and these weird little critters keep popping up around her. On an average night, she will wake up from one of these bumping against her window from the inside and have to get up to let it out.
They are of questionable intelligent, very similar to bees and wasps. Maybe a bit more stupid, at least the workers.
The cute one with the butterfly-ish wings was drawn by fellow group member Steph who is so cool!
It's been a hot minute! Please enjoy my lil Besslinda, Queen of Tethers, Rider and Excrucian of the Host, tasked with extinguishing Creation itself. Don't worry though, she's retired.
So this is Besslinda, or Bessy for short. She's an Excrucian from Jenna Moran's amazing TTRPG "Glitch", which means that she used to be a Queen of the Lands beyond Creation and a warrior of the Void eager to extinguish Creation itself. But don't worry, she retired lately and her self-help group for fellow Enemies of Creation actually has great track record of NOT killing things anymore!
She's still trying to get a handle on this whole Life in Creation thing. It's weird.
Attack for @peppermintbanne featuring his character Aimer and my lil Bessy. Aimer is a Goddess of Love and Healing. Bessy is dying of Love. This is fine.
Welcome to our little chapter of the Riders’ Abstinence Society. Current members are (in order):
Besslinda, dying of Love (She/Her)
Liuveric Ercariman, dying of Dissociation (They/Them)
Drusait Hanasqus, dying of Softness (???/???)
Gathlec Saridan, the Deceiver (She/Her)
Not a lot of people are aware of this, but there is actually an effective way of spotting Excrucians besides looking for the falling stars in their eyes: As a matter of inevitability or perhaps symmetry, each and every one of them must eventually be drawn in a Chibi style.
