Envy Box Review- December 2016

The season of giving, the season of joy. The season we all love irrespective of caste, creed, gender or religion. There is a certain cheer in the air itself. People are happy, getting married, or just merely celebrating. For us beauty and fashion obsessed women, what best season can there be? We get to dress up and make up and go OTT without having to even bat an eyelid of what someone will think. And this review is my favourite OTT beauty subscription box- The Envy Box. My first review for these guys and also, my last review for this year.

A little bit about The Envy Box. It works on similar lines as any other beauty subscription box and has these beautifully designed boxes (which I always end up using to store my ever increasing jewellery collection) that contain beauty products. The December Envy Box is a grey box which has eyes and lips printed on it making it look uber quaint. They call it the “Lashes & Pouts” December Envy Box and its aptly named given the design and the products sent.

The first product is a lipstick by Soultree in the color- 906 Cocoa Rich. Soultree specializes in ayurvedic lipcare and they have 24 shades available in this collection. It contains organic sweet almond oil and essence of rose which is quite evident in the smell of the lipstick. The color is a warm chocolate brown which is perfect for those serious work meetings where you mean business. This is a full-size product of 4.5 gms priced at Rs. 550/-

The next product is an Eyelash Curler by this company called Gubb (I kind of find the name cute- for lack of a better choice of word). TBH, I’ve never used an eyelash curler in my life, which I attribute to good eyelash genes passed on by my mother *all smiles*. Nonetheless, I will give this a shot. It is made of stainless steel and silicon padded gripper for the curling. It also comes with an additional gripper (just in case). The packaging of the product says it’s priced at Rs 199/- while the leaflet that comes alongwith the Box that talks of the products they’ve sent has priced it at Rs. 299/- I would say it’s probably a typing error (feedback here for you guys at Envy Box).

Next product is a Raspberry Lip Butter by Bliscent. The smell of the lip butter transports you back to the days when we used to open the bottle of mixed fruit jam for the smell more than the taste. It is that good and the memories it brought back- priceless (a lil bit of mastercard plagiarism never hurt anyone). It is a mild pink berry colored lip butter which has the goodness of coconut oil, olive oil, and sweet almond oil. I have received a full-sized product which is 5 gms priced at Rs. 150/-

The next product is a Brightening Nutmeg Undereye Tailam by Roots & Herbs. Again, a product based on the ancient secrets of the Ayurveda which is crafted for the protection and rejuvenation of the under-eye area. The noteworthy thing is that it is not supposed to be left overnight. Just for a maximum of 2 hours. Which, according to me, is good considering the extremely strong Indian kitchen spice scent it exudes. Forgive me for being so crass but that was the best I could come up with to describe it. It is a full-sized product of 50 ml prized at Rs. 1190/-

The fifth product is my favourite from a subscription box of the past- The Frizz Kiss Lip Balm by Kronokare. It is exactly what it says- frizzy with a chilling feel on your lips. Kiss-worthy lips? Oh yes. Definitely. It leaves your lips feeling incredibly supple. I usually apply this before going to bed at night which makes my lips very soft to touch in the morning. It has a nice pepperminty smell which is a win win again. This a 10ml full-size product priced at Rs. 95/-

The last of the lot is a surprise from Envy Box that played Secret Santa (I told you, there’s something about this season. So much giving and joy). An All Day Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick by Colorbar in the color- Olive 009. The eye crayon is gorgeous. Very soft to apply and given how the Pantone color of 2017 is Greenery, this gift totally nails it. Talk about swag eyes in 2017 *wink* This is a 1.4 gms stick priced at Rs. 850/-

December. The last month of the year. The last round of reviews. And the cherry on the cake, all products I have received this month by Envy Box are full size products. Yay to that.
