I came across this photo today of me at 22 years old in Berlin, Germany (circa 1992) in the process of painting the “Juice Bus,” aka Björn’s Saft-Express. Fruits everywhere, everywhere!! 🍏🍎🍐🍊🍉🍇🍅🥭🍍🥥🍈🍌🍒🥝 Enamel car paints *galore* and my jeans were my constant painting rag. LOL! Great memories and awesome times from 1992!!!! It wasn’t the only car I painted but it was the only one I painted with a brush instead of using my trusty airbrush. Once finished, the bus would drive around the city pressing fresh juices, on the spot. How funny that #juicing is now such a big thing? Björn H. was ahead of his time. I have spent way too much of my life trying to fit into different molds, jobs, and roles I thought I was supposed to be putting myself in, trying to accommodate others...but always, always have I been an artist. I’ve never been able to not call myself one. It’s like breathing to me. And there was a period that I held my breath for a long time, but that part is definitely over. I will live and die by my brush, and there isn’t a person alive who needs to bother standing in the way of that. Including me.
