my first versus second Tav (*˘︶˘*)/♡
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Top: Nerina 'Nina' Ahearn, Lathander Paladin. I'm romancing Shadowheart with her, and it was a 100% good run.
Bottom: Wren, Draconic bloodline sorcerer and Dark Urge, but hoping to resist it. I'm going to romance either Gale or Wyll with her.
edit - I now have an ask game set up for Nina, feel free to drop question numbers in my ama!!!

4,5 and 20 for the ask thing!
Yay my first ask!! And thank you for your comment on the original post haha
As requested *^^*
(Just a disclaimer, I wrote a lot of her backstory before finishing the full game, so a couple sections match more with D&D canon than game canon, sorry T_T)
4. What hobbies does your Tav have? How did they acquire these interests?
Nina didn't have much time for hobbies when she was younger, but the most prominent one is whittling. She picked it up when she and her sister Wren moved to Baldur's Gate, to pass time at her job (which I talk abt in the next question) She's not amazing at it, but it does bring her comfort. She also does like animals and the outdoors, but these are more so interests than hobbies haha
5. Did your Tav have any formal or informal employment? If yes, what was their job? If no, how did they make ends meet? How did they feel about it?
Nina and Wren were young when they moved to Baldur's Gate, so it was difficult for Nina to find reputable work. She eventually secured the night shift for a small temple district, guarding the places of worship. However, the work didn't make ends meet, and as time went on she started doing jobs for The Guild….. She was definitely not happy about it, but I'll answer that more in a different question >:)
20. What is your Tav's greatest regret?
(In her eyes) Nina abandoned her sister, Wren, and regrets endangering her by doing jobs for the Guild. During the final job she helped the organisation with, Nina lost her nerve, slipping away to alert the Fist. This resulted in a pretty bad fight and a fire, leaving a few casualties on each side. In return, a Guild member scarred her face and neck, and threatened Wren. Before Nina could get to their home to check on her, the Nautoloid appeared, and took her.
This was very fun!!!!! I hope more people ask about Nina, I love talking about her jfksksjs

9 & 22 for your Tav?
Hello! Thanks for the ask! :D
Just in case: the second question contains vague spoilers for companion stories in Act 1 and 2 :)
9. What was your Tav doing when they were taken by the mind flayers?
Kind of went into this a bit in the last ask for question 20? Basically the Guild made veiled threats against Nina’s sister Wren after Nina betrayed them. Nina was running back to their home to check on Wren's safety, but before she got there, the nautoloid scooped her up.
22. Has your Tav become particularly close to anyone romantically and/ or platonically in their journey? If so, who, and what is the relationship like? If no, why not?
Nina is romantically involved with Shadowheart. I actually have ideas for Nina's opinions about most of the companions! I wrote them out for a different prompt. Be warned, it's very long (╥﹏╥)
Astarion: Shadowheart has a fondness for the vampire, but other than that, Nina doesn't talk to Astarion too often. One night, she found him in a blind panic in the woods, and was able to calm him down. He didn't tell her what was wrong, and she didn't ask, but every so often, he will come to her tent at night and just sit with her. She's found out bits and pieces of his backstory, and doesn't mind the company at night, often plagued by her own guilt.
Gale: Nina has a positive relationship with Gale, taking every opportunity to gauge his opinion about events and chat with an equally optimistic personality. She almost sees him as a father or big brother figure, and he is the oldest (aside from Halsin and Astarion lol) and most learned, so Nina values his advice. She often helps Gale cook dinner as well, and lets him ramble about his magical interests.
Wyll: Nina likes Wyll, but doesn't talk to him a large amount. After the Mizoria reveal, she did talk with him about her own history of blackmail and service, which did make him feel better. She checks up on him often to make sure he's okay.
Lae'zel: Nina rarely talks to Lae'zel, finding her rudeness and condescending attitude very distasteful. She's had to stop herself from losing her temper many times, and it was difficult to break up the fight between her and Shadowheart instead of just letting Shadowheart go at her.
Shadowheart: Nina's romance. She initially found Shadowheart's secretive personality intriguing, but the cleric's kindness and humour truly endeared her. Although Shadowheart's Shar worship concerned Nina, their relationship grew, eventually growing strong enough for Nina to convince her to spare the Nightsong. They find easy, quiet company with each other, and love completing camp tasks together. She's the first one who Nina told about her sister.
Halsin: Nina doesn't particularly have an interest in bonding with Halsin. Originally, she was a bit intimidated by him, initially due to the reverence all the druids showed to him, and later because of his power and age. He seems to be able to take care of himself, so she lets him be.
Karlach: Nina doesn't talk to Karlach much, the main reason being her openness and mental stability (Nina does have a fondness for people she can help, hence Shadowheart, etc). However, Nina finds Karlach's optimism and sweetness infectious, and the tiefling's excitable personality makes Nina far more extroverted in close proximity.
That's it! Thanks again for the ask :]
and whoever's reading this, feel free to request more questions !
