after the incident-that-must-not-be-mentioned, leo cut back on drinking, and when he did drink, he made sure to look out for himself and remember to chug down a whole glass of water after every shot. rumor and callie’s party was an opportunity to prove to ian and to everybody else, that no, he wasn’t green faced, pukey boy leo—he was a grown ass man who can handle his alcohol.

leo only went to the bathroom for a quick piss. he remembered setting his drink down on the empty coffee table before heading off, so seeing four solo cups when he returned confused the shit out of him. his features contorted in a small frown. “wait, which one is mine?” leo asked, tone modulated with a tiny blip of hesitation. to leo’s alcohol induced state, all the contents looked vaguely the same.

open starter ! location:   the slopes. time:   early evening. muses:   ian  &  open.

               since the beginning of time,   ian has been pushing the limits of what he can do.   sometimes it’s been dark,    the times he stretched himself out so thin that he snapped and realized a whole lot of disappointing things about himself.   other times,   most times,   it’s been about his birth-given right to be an absolute idiot.    ian is snowboarding down the slope of the mountain and he feels it before it happens. 

in his experience,   losing control is something he can sense as an oncoming danger,   but most times it’s at the point where there’s very little chance of going back.    when he starts swaying back and forth,   obviously trying to keep his balance,   he doesn’t fully expect to right himself so he just lets it happen.   making the fall easy is better than struggling and landing a bigger blow in the end.    he’s already near the bottom when he gives out,   and his body rolls once and he gets a face full of snow.   a grunt leaves his lips and he makes the conscious choice of not moving.   not only because he’s winded,   but because he knows someone’s around that surely experienced his embarrassing tumble.    “   i’m okay,  ”    he calls out,   his face still in the snow.   it’s cooling his forehead,    so that’s nice.   “   just taking a little break !   ”

koda was already 3 hours into his shift, the initial rush of people had already breezed by. the male took a deep breathe in before walking around his eyes wandering around before deciding to go to the main lobby. “hey you wanna go grab a bite?” he asked, not paying attention to who he was even talking too. koda hadn’t really cared that he was still supposed to work, snowboarding was not that hard anyway.

“ just listen to the music of the traffic in the city ! linger on the sidewalks where the neon lights are pretty ! ” then, leaning closer – “ how can you lose ? ” ivan sang to the absolute worst of his abilities. flopping by the other and beginning to talk like a normal person, he said, “ you know, big bear really has some exquisite pay-per-view. i can now confidently say i am terrified of 50s and 60s soda pop – kudos to the horror movie franchise. ” he stood up yet again, bowing this time, as if in honor of the horror movie franchise, then turned back to the poor object of his stream of consciousness. “ i keep thinking: ‘you know what, i could survive a horror movie ! i would know to listen to those lyrics !,’ then the gravity of it all sets in... would i really think to listen to the lyrics after almost being burnt then almost freezing to death ? likely not ! ” with the most exaggerated point possible, he asked, “ do you think you could survive a horror movie ? ”
