I did not expect that 'someone else's dog' would have such a profound effect on me. I met Ziggi when he was still a puppy/mini-bear. He was a wiggle machine, highly excitable, yet extremely gentle and sooky. He clearly 'loved his mummy', cos he was always so obedient to her every request. As he grew up into a bigZig or 'beary', he still wiggled like crazy, but never changed from being that wonderful gentle soul - he just bumped into things a bit more. Through all the goods and bads and ups and downs Elise went through over the last 13 years, Ziggi has been there with unconditional affection, always ready with a beary hug. I'd like to think that, for sometime now, Ziggi has been in quiet preparation for after his inevitable last day, with his sister ganache, beary number two; she has been learning the ropes to take over as head beary, who's only responsibility is to continue her unconditional affection for mummy bear. I expect Ziggi will sleep with a contented spirit knowing his mummy bear is in good paws. 🐾🐻🐾
