Woke up to a new OC introducing himself.

His name is Lero and he's a ghost of a killed student who haunts the halls of NRC. By which I mean he mainly sulks around eavesdropping.

He wears a mishmash of discarded items from the various dorms. No one is really sure where he belonged when he was alive (not even himself).

Ara (twst): Poison/Dark Type with her main partner being a Crobat

Yuuri (twst): Normal/Flying with her main partner being a Pidgeot

Bly (om): Psychic/Ghost with her main partner being a Misdreavus

Blue (om): Dark with her main partner being an Umbreon

Ara: not at first though she figures it out later and ends up giving very maternal protective hugs.

Rat: if you consider clingy hugs good then yes

Thorn: Thorn was hugged as a baby and as an adult man with 0 hugs in between. He is bad at it.

Damien: God the best hugs. The kind of hug that makes you feel suddenly like crying out all your emotions, or that everything is going to be okay, no in between.

Falla: BAD HUGS very stiff and distracted. She doesn't really get the point...

Gigi: Good hugs, but she has a tendency to try to lift you off your feet, even if you're bigger than her. She's also good at cracking backs this way, actually...

Kana: Good...suspiciously good...did you practice this Kana...?

Ton: Fine, just fine...but unsettling in some way. Like he's counting your bones while he does it.

Olivine: Great hugs, he's soft and smells amazing. You're coming away with strands of her hair on your shirt though sorry. Kit carries a lint roller for this exact reason so ask him for help.

Asmina: Surprisingly good hugs? She smells amazing and holds you very preciously. But she's probably talking the whole time, lecturing you about something...

Hihi!!! Tis the season to ask holiday themed asks!! Assuming the world of TWST celebrates winter holidays, do your OCs celebrate any holidays? If so, what are some things they like to do?

Of course Hivechildren don't celebrate Christmas, so the whole matter is pretty bewildering to them at first. Even before they learned about GIFTS, Ara was simply dumbfounded as to why they were cutting down trees to bring them inside to die slowly??? And then cover them in random bits of glass and paper?? And lights? She supposed it was pretty, sure, but it still seemed rather silly...For once it was Rat who adapted quicker, mainly because he learned about all the food that was traditional and threw himself into learning how to make as much of it as he could.

The first Christmas, receiving gifts was almost a little...distressing, especially for Ara. Rat was too timid to reject anything handed to him, but Ara couldn't understand why she was being given things when she hadn't done anything worth rewarding. Ruggie finally sat her down and explained the beauty of the holiday (People hand you stuff FOR FREE just take it).

Later when the next gen comes around, he's definitely the one championing the holiday. Leona thinks its a lot of fuss for no reason but he secretly likes buying gifts and spoiling his spouses and the kiddos when they come along. Ara has improved greatly on this footing as well. As for the kids...

Falla begins protesting the felling of arboreal specimen for the purposes of a brief celebration at age 9 so the family switches to a fake tree. She's a pretty bad gift giver, mainly gifting books (Ton and Leona usually end up with them all). Gigi is marginally better though she tends to get a bit swept up in fad products (keep that girl away from the TikTok shop). The twins are excellent gift givers...to the point where it's a bit creepy. They get competitive with one another over who can give the best gift and it has resulted in some perhaps dubious intel collection methods (such as personal laptop search history...occasional tapped phones...just some light felonies no big deal...).

As Azul's child and the only kiddo between the Octrio at the moment, Olivine gets absolutely spoiled rotten. Christmas isn't really celebrated by mer, but what father needs an excuse to spoil his child? She's never wanted for anything, and so tends to gift handmade things, especially knitted or sewn goods.

Ara (twst): cut grass, soil and blood (strength varies depending on…circumstances)

Yuuki (twst): fresh linen and sautéing onions

Bly (om): incense, old books and ink

Blue (om): gardenia, coffee, gamer stink (courtesy of Levi)

Rat: 0 because what if they get mad at him :(

Thorn: 0 because real men don’t hide behind blocks obv

Damien: 54 mostly past lovers

Falla: 2, “botanists” who posted facts so incorrect it evoked true rage inside her

Gigi: 67, bad takes and hot women she DM’d and then immediately blocked without a reply after she lost her nerve

Kana: 331, blocks liberally and does not lose sleep over it

Ton: 2, he’s always watching.

Olivine: 1255, streamer and gamer so it’s a given. Also she gets some…interesting DM’s sometimes.

Asmina: 9, she is the type to get dragged into intense fights online and never block. She’s been blocked by hundreds.

∅ GOD so many delicious choices it’s hard to pic. I would love the Wei duo’s thoughts on Ara since I don’t know that we’ve actually discussed it?

Wei Renqiao- Ren's got a lot of respect for Ara. He sits somewhere in the middle in terms of how much he relates to her versus how much he relates to Rat, but in a few crucial ways he's closer to Ara in terms of similarities. I do think there's also a potential for them to be foils in different ways eventually, as Ara doesn't realize she's giving up one cage for another when she becomes leader of her STYX strike team but that's what she's doing, whereas Ren doesn't see his decision to join STYX as imprisoning himself. There's a potential seed there for them to have a very interesting discussion in the future.

Wei Xinyi- This is a very interesting one. Xinyi struggles a lot with their perception of self for a long time between the role they're expected to fill for their people, the roles they try to fill in their family, the person they are inside and want to be able to outwardly express, and especially how they're seen by others. Because of a lot of their past trauma, A-Xin doesn't exactly tend to get close to others, no matter how kindly they treat them. But I do think they'd see a similar struggle in Ara, and would want to offer solidarity to her as a result. They don't necessarily see themself as a teacher or mentor, but sometimes it helps more to have someone who can relate, even if it's just on a broader scale, to your inner turmoil and personal conflict.

Oh boy, Chrys roasting the nextgens. There's a need to hold back (he's probably known and looked after some of these kiddos) but also, that's not going to help them sort their shit if he does.

"Falla Kingscholar and Asmina Viper could both do with living a little. The former because she needs to do it for the sake of testing the waters, and also because she doesn't need to pick up her paternal lethargy. Of course, if she did get Leona's suspected depression, that's going to need a lot more work. The latter just needs to break out of whatever strict confines she's got herself in. Doesn't matter how she was raised; at this point, she is self-enforcing the behaviors that cause her loneliness and isolation. Sooner or later, between that and the rigidity, she's likely to snap and crumble if she doesn't learn to shake it up.

"Don't get me started on the Kingscholar twins. They've never been challenged and had their mettle tested. They're too comfortable. Sooner or later, something is going to crack the foundations of their world and they can either be tested or they can stay in denial trying in vain to repair those cracks. Smart as whips, I'll give them that, but they've got a lot of growing and emotional maturing to do. Brains can only help you so far there.

(there is a long, long pause as Chrys looks slowly at Olivine Ashengrotto, and he is yoinked offstage and magically silenced before he can open that one up with any remarks made about "so let me tell you about your dad when he was attending NRC-")

Ara: a small stuffed antelope that Leona and Ruggie won her out of a claw machine (the first toy she ever owned). In later years it’s worn thin but it’s still very precious to her.

Rat: the note Ara left him on his last day in the Hive. He rubs his thumb over it for comfort so after a while you can barely seek the ghost of the ink, and the paper is soft as cotton.

Yuuri: a friendship bracelet with the initials Y+H on it. It’s the only relic she has of the life she had before falling through the mirror into twisted wonderland. She still can’t remember who she was, so it both comforts and torments her. What were the initials for? Her last name? A friend? Lover? Sibling? She hopes one day she can recall.

Bored and work and randomly was inspired to make outfits for my MC's to share!

Bly (OM):

Prefers stuff she can move easily in, but likes dresses and things as well. The jacket is Solomon's, the cuff puts a cap on her power until she needs it. This is her usual casual look, she does let Asmo (and Mammon) dress her up when they want to.

Blu (OM):

Mostly clothing stolen from Levi. Isn't as fixated on utility these days, opts for comfort over style.

Ara (TWST)

VERY utility based when not in Ramshackle or NRC uniform. She honestly hates jeans but they're the easiest to get a hold of second hand at NRC, she prefers something with stretch and flexibility.
