Introduction Part 1: The Golden Era of The Gods
Once, there was one deity who ruled over all. The name of the deity was Mishkelle. Mishkelle created humans as a form of theatrics, for he was bored and he was alone. Terra was the name of the place where the humans lived.
The humans thrived for some time, and Mishkelle continued watching from his throne up in the Riksh. It was a sacred place that not even the Holy Devotees could enter out of fear of a karmic rule. In other words, they were scared to anger Mishkelle.
One day, a girl wandered too close to the sacred Riksh. Amadora was the name of the girl. She was the fairest girl in the world, and many suitors have come to see her and court her. But Amadora thinks they are all foolish. There are no one in this world who wanted her for anything except for her beauty, even though she was well-read and very adventurous.
When Amadora reached the foot of the hill where the Riksh was perched upon, she stayed there and prayed. Seven days and seven nights long she prayed. She did not eat nor drink during that time. She only prayed to the deity Mishkelle to end her suffering.
Mishkelle was an arrogant deity and at first was disturbed by Amadora’s existence. He paid her no heed and continued watching over his beloved creations. Drinking godly wine and eating godly fruits, he grew weary of Amadora’s relentless praying.
So the deity descended from his throne and went over the slab of stone in which Amadora was perched and praying on. When he came close, he saw for himself how beautiful Amadora is. Suddenly feeling very generous, Mishkelle asked Amadora what is it that she needed so, that she would let go of food and drink just to pray. She was, after all, not one of his Holy Devotees.
Amadora anwered him and said that she only ask him to take away her beauty so she would find true love. Feeling her despair, he granted her wish but on one condition. He would only grant her wish if she promised to be his servant for all eternity. Overjoyed, Amadora agreed.
Mishkelle took her up into the Riksh and turned her into a light so bright that it shone all over Guile.
All who have heard this story knows how it goes. Eventually, Amadora found solace in Mishkelle. They seek comfort in each other and thus were the Gods born.
The first born, Aramesh, was a God of peace and prosperity. After him was Giuliane, Goddess of spring and fertility. Then Nukos, God of the night and passage to the Land of the Undead. After Nukos came Saile, God of the day.
Giuliane married her brother Nukos and thus their kids were born. From hereonafter, it was known as the Golden Era of Gods.
Their firstborn Ameer would become God of war and lust. Their secondborn Hilde would become Goddess of the hunt and chastity. Their thirdborn Laema would become Goddess of the moon and poetry.
Laema would wed Saile and have seven offsprings. Gaile, Goddess of the crop and livestocks would wed her twin brother Juldais, Ruler of the Undead Domain. Myktos, God of messengers and songs would wed his aunt Hilde. Nyktra, Goddess of eyesight and wisdom, would wed the nymph Brute. Aileen, goddess of love would wed her uncle Ameer. Perpa, God of family and reunion, would wed his cousin Merda, daughter of Hilde, Goddess of birth and midwives.
It is said that Merda came from Hilde’s love of children. Forbidden by her vow to chastity, Hilde created Merda from ash and part of her ankles. Thus were born Merda.
Thus were the Gods born during the Golden Era. There were many other that came after them, and so many are unaccounted for.
The one thing about the Gods, they are very lustful. Some of them cruel enough to abandon their spouses for a younger, more fresh partner. Some other partnered for a lifetime.
The Golden Era was long and terrifying. Mortals would not dare to cross the insolent Gods. They were not afraid to rule out karmic punishments for those who dare to question them. The Gods would bear children out of wedlock, rape mortals and take their childrens, and even require sacrifices from human.
It was 10.000 years after the birth of the last Demigod, was when the Great Drowning happened. Mishkelle grew tired of all the blasphemy the Gods were doing in his name, and so carried out a karmic punishment from the Riksh. He pulled all of the Gods from Terra and locked them in the Silver Capital in fear of them infesting Terra with their rash actions again.
After the Great Drowning, only several villages survived. Namely, those who have never crossed Mishkelle and stood their grounds against the insolent Gods.
It was around this time a new kind of Terranians arrived. The Elvens.
