Why do yuu think 2D animation is a dying art? I love Pixar animation and thinks it’s gorgeous but there’s something really special about hand drawn animation and think it’s expressive In a way that 3D isn’t. I just saw the frozen concept art and was blown away. Do you agree and what is ur thoughts on 2D OR animation in general?

Hey, and oh! I don't think it's dying as an artform at all - in fact, I lowkey think its heading into a bit of a renaissance given the calibre of work that's come out in the last 18 months - I just don't think major studios are investing in it anymore.

That is thrilling to me as someone who once wanted to be an animator, and I think shows a huge range of styles and, with the exception of The Boy and the Heron of course, shows a real investment in terms of indie animation and treating 2D animation as the unique and varied artform that it is.

I actually don't necessarily agree that 2D animation is more expressive, but I do think it often feels more creatively unique because it is. There's something about 2D animation that creates an intimacy between artist and audience that I think can be there in 3D, but often isn't? And regardless of the story, it can build in this sense of immediacy and connection and the feeling that you're truly experiencing art as opposed to, well, watching content, which I do think sometimes 3D animation can feel like when it clearly lifting from a factory template.

But yeah, that new Frozen concept art is pretty amazing.

🔸Roger Taylor: Yes, it is our first studio album since 1986, I think that the reason for, for the delay, no, not the delay, for the long wait in between was that we wanted to sort of go away, and just recharge our batteries, quite logical really, and er, and just sort of generate some, some new energy and enthusiasm for, for being Queen

John Deacon: After we did the, the tour in 1986, which was a very big European tour, we were all absolutely exhausted, and shattered, and basically we didn't want to really work together or see each other for a while

Roger Taylor: To get into the whole cycle of er, just making an album, then going on tour, then coming back home and making an album again, we wanted to get out of that

Brian May: We said right, we'll take a little break, we're not, we're not going to split up, but we just er, we need some space for ourselves, and when the time is right, we'll make the album, rather than, you know, somebody says you've got to make one so we make one, so we waited, and we did some, did various other things, you know, Freddie and Roger both did solo projects, and I'm half way through one, and did a lot of producing

John Deacon: That took at least a year to a year and a half, and then towards the end of that second year, er, we sort of met up, and Freddie suggested, I think it was Freddie, perhaps we'd try a little time in the studio

Roger Taylor: So we went into the studio, saw what it was like, and we enjoyed it very much, and we still didn't have any material, so then we decided to go in for the long, for a long, longer time

John Deacon: You know, the third year was spent making the album, so the, in a way it was a two year gap to us, rather than three years, and er, and what was the, I've forgotten the second part of the question already

Interviewer: Did it help you to return to the studios feeling refreshed?

John Deacon: Yes (laughter) yes

The first few weeks of the recording we did a lot of live, er, material, a lot of songs um, ideas came up, some jamming, we had a few ideas that were already prepared, er, 'I Want It All' was one of the, one of the few songs that was actually, written before we went in

Deborah Jane Leng Burgess is a model and actress, and Roger met her on the set of his side band The Cross' video-clip "Cowboys and Indians" (1987). She next appeared as the masked lady in Queen’s “Breakthru”. Debbie started her modeling under the artistic name of Debbie Du-Bell in 1982, and represented the UK in the 1986 edition of Supermodel of the World. She created a sensation in 1987 when she became the iconic Cadbury's Flake girl in a TV commercial and got axed three years later for being "too sexy".

Roger and Debbie’s relationship was immediately object of interest for tabloids, especially since he married his previous girlfriend Dominique in 1988 to secure their two children and the media didn't understand their relationship was actually over, and Roger he soon moved in a new mansion with Debbie. Another object of scandal was the alleged diffusion of a sex tape between the two, and the media never failed to point out their age difference of 14 years. The drummer of a world famous band and a beautiful supermodel couldn’t stay out of the spotlight, after all...

However, besides often appearing together at events, concerts and parties, looking dashing and rich, what happened privately in their lives seems to remain very private. (short to say I’m not really finding much out there besides gossip articles mentioned above). Of course, Debbie is a beautiful woman and always looks friendly and smiling around her family, often having fun with Roger, but there's not much additional information about her personality.

They had Rufus, Tigerlily and Lola together and it appears that Debbie has stayed a lot by Roger’s side after Freddie’s death. “Freddie Mercury was still alive when Rufus came along in 1991 and those two got on famously. Mind you, Fred was always fabulous with kids — he was the one who came up with Rufus’s middle name: Tiger.”  They split in around 2004, but they still have a close relationship nowadays and Debbie introduced Tigerlily and Lola to the modeling world, following her steps, while Rufus is drummer of The Darkness, much like Roger.

“Although Rufus’s mum [Deborah Leng] and I were together for about 15 years, we never did get married. I also had Felix and Rory Eleanor from a previous relationship [with Dominique Beyrand], but in that situation, we did eventually tie the knot. I guess I wanted to make sure Felix and Rory were looked after financially. “I’ll admit my life back then was, well… let’s say it was complicated. It was a strange time for all of us. Wouldn’t it be great if relationships were simple and easy? Sadly, breaking up with people who mean a lot to you is never simple or easy. The important thing for me has always been that the kids support each other and feel like brothers and sisters. There’s not some from “this relationship” and some from “that relationship”; they are a gang of five.” (Roger in 2014)

“Mum and Dad never actually got married, but their separation was still pretty rough. There was a bit of shouting for a while and a few headlines, but, y’know what: shit happens. People split up. PMDD (or what I suspect is) got me again! That darn rascal 🤪

No, but really. Why do I forget that almost every month for 2ish weeks I feel like the world is ending and that it’s JUST MY HORMONES.

Anywayyyyyy now that I’m not clouded by darkness, I think I will be okay with this job and my position. Also being mindful that once that darkness lifts, I am extremely euphoric for a day or two before I even out. So I may swing in another direction BUT euphoric me says that I can do this.

I’m excited because another piece of the puzzle clicked into place today. I was able to figure out where things were in the authorization process (which is currently my only barrier to feeling like I understand the job). I was able to see where it was and what needed to be done next. That’s a big breakthru! Still fuzzy on the surrounding steps, but hey! I’m almost there 😊

I think part of my distress was that it was starting to feel like the hospital. Not connecting with “safe” people at work or having a good relationship with my boss and not understanding the financial process.

But, I feel like I’ve really connected with two coworkers. One who goes out of her way every morning to say hi to me (she does this for everyone and it’s so genuine). And the other who’s been checking in with me to make sure I’m doing good. Still don’t have a good view of my boss, but I think that’s just how it’s gonna be. I do really like my coworkers (even if I leave the office drained by social interaction. I think I’d rather this than my WFH job where I literally saw NO ONE for days on end)

I think my feelings will even out with time.

Oh, also one of my coworkers said I’ve been “over the moon” with my performance so far and thanked me for jumping in and helping out with all the chaos. It was a nice reminder of what I was also told at the hospital by the best trainer I had “I think you’re too hard on yourself! You’re doing great”

Its really starting to make sense in my head since processing through my perfectionism this time around. Not sure what’s changed, but I’m seeing more and more just how much I pressure I put on myself for no reason.

idk if other mentally ill ppl do this im sure they do but i have little phrases i use when my emotions etc are getting intense tht like defuse it a bit so like suicide cw a bit but i often jst start saying out loud to myself "i want to die i want to die" or "i hate myself" + its like weirdly effective @ calming me down. but obviously like i dont rlly wanna keep it up as a coping mechanism bc the phrases (i call them my chants) are usually overwhelming negative. BUT major breakthru!! this past maybe week. i have a new chant + its not negative its rlly weird ive found myself saying "you have no idea" + its not self directed its like the outside world has no idea.. of what specifically? idk but saying it calms me down. im still saying the unpleasant shit too but hopefully i might pick up a couple other nice chants tht eventually crowd them out

XQc Almost Got Scammed While Trying to Buy His Own VALORANT Team

Streamers like Disguised Toast and Ludwig are scooping up VALORANT rosters on a regular basis in North America, and the king of Twitch himself, xQc, may have followed suit if he hadn't nearly fallen victim to a fraud when looking for a team. XQc had shown interest in signing a VALORANT roster right after Disguised Toast picked up steel’s men ahead of the open qualifier for NA Challengers League Split One in January 2022. XQc wanted a team that could “smoke” Disguised Toast’s squad, but his search wasn’t successful at all and he ended up seeing Ludwig form a team before him. “My brother, I said I was interested in buying a team and I contacted one team to buy, I was way ahead of Ludwig to sign a team,” xQc said on a recent live stream. “They had already found a sponsor and I said ‘yo guys I want to buy a team’ and the other DM I got was from a bunch of low Silver crypto scammers and that’s it. Nobody else, nobody DMs me again.” It’s unclear at this point if xQc is still looking to buy a roster in NA Challengers League after he almost got scammed in his initial attempt. Week three of the tournament is set to conclude today and after that, there are only two more weeks left to be played before the group stage ends and the best teams move on to the Challengers Mid-Season Invitational. This leaves xQc with little time left to make his move and poach one of the teams playing in NA Challengers League Split One. The only squad attending the tournament without a sponsor is Turtle Troop, a team who recently spoiled the debut of the BreakThru roster under Ludwig’s banner Moist Moguls. So if xQc is still interested in joining his fellow streamers on this trend, it’s more likely he’ll have to wait for Split Two. Read the full article
