Cats of the Sun

The SunClans are four clans making up the whole that is SunClan, each clan fulfilling a different role in serving SunClan.

DawnClan

DawnClan are the healers. While every clan has its medicine cat, they are trained and evaluated in DawnClan, with the DawnClan medicine cats being the most respected and skilled of all medicine cats.

DawnClan does have its warriors still, though they know more basic healing than the warriors of all other clans. They live by the sea, which provides them with an abundance of food, and the cats of DawnClan are known as laid-back and trustworthy. Though, less favorable cats of other clans think of DawnClan as lazy and unwilling to do the "hard work" of clan life.

DayClan

DayClan are the peacekeepers. They are opposed to fighting, and instead do everything in their power to end conflict bloodlessly. DayClan trains and holds the best mediators, and are the most welcoming to outsiders.

DayClan, like all clans, has its warriors, some very skilled, but they prefer to keep their claws sheathed whenever they can. They live in the plains, enjoying its warmth and peace, which is fitting for how many cats would choose to describe DayClan. This does have the downside of many cats thinking of DayClan as weak, and sometimes even a danger to SunClan's way of life due to their willingness to take in outsiders.

DuskClan

DuskClan are the protectors. They defend the clans from outside threats, enforce the warrior code, and punish those who have committed crimes against the clans.

Their warriors are incredibly skilled and disciplined, believing themselves to be the strength of SunClan. Their forest home gives them a mastery of climbing and stealth, you can never truly know when a DuskClan cat is watching you. DuskClan cats are known for being fiercely loyal and always reliable, but some think they take advantage of their reputation, and their "protection" can border on the cruel.

NightClan

NightClan are the guardians of StarClan. They live amongst the spirits of their ancestors and pass on the history and stories of times long since passed.

Their warriors are wise and calm, some thinking of their roles less as warriors and more as walking stories. NightClan lives in the caves deep within the mountains, among towering crystals, said to be windows into StarClan. NightClan's camp sits just outside what SunClan calls the Path, a long path of sharp crystals leading to one perfect, tall, smooth crystal. When a new leader is made, they must "Walk the Path" walk on the shards, and lay before the crystal at the end of the path without getting cut, for if they bleed, it is a sign of StarClan's rejection. NightClan warriors are valued for their knowledge and spirituality, but many think of them as strange, and would not choose their company out of the other clans.

The Fall of the Clans Aftermath - 1

Berryscar and Nightback’s groups meet face-to-face. Nightback was openly grinning. She was excited for the first showdown. Berryscar, however, knew she’d die soon enough. Disabilities were not tolerated. Besides, why would rogue warriors listen to rules even if they were set up? The warrior code had been destroyed. The clans fell. Now cats wandered freely. No borders, no rules, no leaders. The traveling groups would commonly pick someone to lead them into battle, but they didn’t make decisions past that.

Nightback sprinted swiftly at Paleshade, who dodged her fatal attack. Paleshade signaled to Brindlefeather that she should pounce on Nightback. Paleshade obeyed and knocked the cat off balance. She looked at Nightback with merciless eyes, and raised her paw up to slash her throat out. Nettlethroat threw herself at Brindlefeather, however, and pushed her off of Nightback. Berryscar hissed at Nettlethroat as a signal to fight her instead. Nettlethroat then pounced on Berryscar. Nettlethroat raised her paw up like Brindlefeather did, but Berryscar didn’t attack back. She knew the attack was coming, but she embraced herself. Berryscar twitched her tail like a squirrel at death when she heard Swiftstreak start to pad over, so he returned with a saddened look.

This was the end for her, and she was fine with it.

Hawkfrost x Ashfur hypokits?

At least.. They're supposed to be evil

Brindlefeather and Bramblelight missed the memo.

tw for mentions of abuse when we get to Bramblelight.

Brindlefeather technically died as a -paw, but she was given a dying warriors ceremony. She was also named after Ashfur's mother and was the smallest of the four.

As far as her Clanmates knew, this young molly had been killed in battle, fighting alongside her sisters.

What they don't know was that Tulippaw and Tadpolepaw had killed her moments after the battle was winding down.

She was never a violent cat and she would push back against her dad and her siblings every time they would start making plans. Eventually, when she refused to back down, she was killed without Hawkfrost or Ashfur knowing.

She was given a warrior name as the story Tulippaw and Tadpolepaw was believed over everything else.

Even though she has the ability to go to StarClan, Brindle has chosen to remain a ghost just so that she can watch after Bramble and make sure they live.

Tulipfrost is nonbinary and uses she/her pronouns. She was named after her late uncle, Tulipkit.

This tolly is a bitter and silent cat, keeping to herself and feeling resentment towards those who she believed were taking what she was born to control.

She's Tigerstar's grandchild and proud of the fact. She holds firm that if Tigerstar had been allowed to complete his mission, she and her sisters would be on top of the world right now.

Tulipfrost is very goal-oriented and her long-term plan is to become the strongest leader the four Clans ever known and take them over one by one until she and her sisters stood tall over all of them.

Originally she wanted to split the Clans evenly so that the tolly wasn't the only one in charge, but ever since Brindle's 'accident', she's less trusting of her sisters.

Tadpoleclaw is a reckless, headstrong fighter. She was named after her late uncle, Tadpole, and Hawkfrost insisted she was given the suffix -claw when she was made a warrior. This makes her also named after her grandfather.

Despite being raised by his stories and training with him in the Dark Forest, Tadpoleclaw believes Tigerstar was an idiot who didn't know how to handle power.

Of course, she walks in the same pawsteps, taking little time to ensure a plan will go through before setting it into action.

She holds grudges easily and she's not a cat you'd want to cross.

After all, Brindlefeather wasn't the first time she lied her way out of being a suspect of murder.

Bramblelight is named after their half-uncle when Hawkfrost went to make a deal with Brambleclaw about ThunderClan. They're a molly but they only use they/them pronouns.

They're a gentle giant who is often pushed around by their sister and their sibling, handling to verbal - and sometimes physical - abuse by withdrawing and avoiding any and all contact with others.

This would range from hurting any of the insects that they [Tulip, Tadpole] would be watching to biting them [Bramble] every time they [Bramble] were 'annoying'.

And not to mention an incident after Brindlefeather's death where they had approached Tulipfrost about what happened and had their life threatened if they ever talked about her again.

As the harassment got worse, they became detached from who they were and found comfort in they/them pronouns as a way to detach themself to their family. They're not out about it to their family, but to their few friends [in ShadowClan and WindClan, as they refuse to have friends in Thunder or River] they're respected.

Bramblelight has been considering running away, but now that they have friends they're hesitant to do so, as they worry it put their friends in danger.

They're a caring molly and when push comes to shove, they're finding that instead of running, they may have to confront their family head on.

Briarflower led her group to the gorge. Eelflame requested to be led there, and she refused to leave her teammates behind. She was a kind cat, but that was a disadvantage to her. Eelflame knew this, and he was going use it to his advantage.

Briarflower sniffed the air. She froze when she caught a whiff of Nightback’s cats. Last moon, she had heard about Berryscar’s death, so it made sense that their group wouldn’t attack. She clawed the ground, making a ‘x’ in the dirt. Leafdust nudged Furzedusk and Mousefleck, and all three braced for battle. Eelflame, although nudged as well, stood where he was.

Nightback jumped at Briarflower from a bush, pinning her down. She attacked back, trying to break her paw. Before either of them recieved a bad injury, Furzedusk charged at Nightback, bringing both cats to the ground. Nettlethroat appeared with Gingerwhisker. Gingerwhisker clawed at Furzedusk, freeing Nightback who continued to attack Briarflower. Nettlethroat and Blazestone chased Mousefleck to the peak overlooking the gorge’s edge they were fighting on right now. After that, Eelflame pounced at Nightback, then went back to fight Briarflower. Nightback decided to go back to fighting Furzedusk.

Mousefleck nervously watched the entire battle. He was going to end this. He waited until Nightback was right at the edge of the ground he was standing on, then he ripped apart the roots under him. He cleared the dirt. Then, when it was loose enough, the entire cliff fell down to the battlefield. Mousefleck fell. So did the rocks, the dirt, the roots, everything. The sight scared everyone, and most backed up. Nightback thought he had won against Furzedusk when she backed away.

Then the impacts of the land and Mousefleck hit.

Mousefleck was dead. Nightback was crushed. And the gorge’s edge was cracking. Every remaining cat was fleeing from the cracking edge. But as Eelflame was running, the ground beneath him cracked open. Briarflower tried to save him, but he had already fell to far by then. So she kept running, despite the three lost cats of that day.

Sootvine sat at the edge of the river. He had some thinking to do. Leafdust was expecting his kits. But he wouldn’t let any of his sons live in that dreaded group. He’d bring them all to his group. But the she-cats were weak, so they could stay in Briarflower’s care. If he didn’t even have any toms, then Leafdust and her kits die there.

Suddenly, he heard footsteps. He jumped up in alert, only to see it was Leafdust carrying three kits. She laid them next to him. He looked with worry as two of the kits were tortoiseshells, and the last one was orange. They were just born.

He nudged his newborn son, only to discover that he was too weak and had died. He extended his claws, and attacked his former mate. After she received the wound in her face, she lunged back at him. They fell in the river, where they continued to wrestle due to the water being not very deep. Soon enough, Leafdust had her mate pinned down to the ground. She closed her eyes, then swiped her claws against his throat, killing him nearly instantly. She was sad that this is what it had come to, but she could tell they’d be meeting soon anyway.

In fact, she had died before the battle began.

Brindlefeathers Path | 1

Brindlekit stepped proudly onto a shiny, smooth rock that allowed her brother and sister to stare up at her in awe. Her black striped tail waved in the cold air as frost formed beneath Alderkit's paws.        "Now! Sparkfeather," Brindlekit pointed her tail towards the orange kit, Sparkkit. She blinked at her with green eyes and her white and gray fur blew in the wind. "I want you to take Aldereye, Foxtail, and Wolfmaine to the border to check if there is any Darkclan warriors messing around with us." She demanded.        "Yes, Brindlestar!" Sparkkit nodded, bouncing away with Alderkit, Foxkit, and Wolfkit. Her pelt helped her hide with the snow, so she was the obvious one to choose.        But a gray tom loomed over the three kits. "Rawr! I'm A Darkclan warrior and you shall not pass!" the kits jumped on the light silver tom and pummeled him to the ground. He playfully fought with them and he shook his head. Brindlekit watched as her kin and her friends helped destroy Skytail.        He fell limp and The kittens looked proudly at their leader. "We did it!" Foxkit mewed, stumbling over to her. Sparkkit jumped up with enthusiasm, knocking over her poor brother Alderkit. He rolled in the snow and whimpered as the cold snow was all over his poor body. He sneezed and caught the attention of his mother, Violetpool.        She ran over to Alderkit and nosed him out of the snow. She picked him up, terrified if she was going to lose Alderkit like she lost her mate Tigerfoot. Oh, how much she missed him. She thought about him every night when she and her kits fell asleep.        Violetpool was worried for Alderkit because he was not really good with the snow. He always got sick in the snow and would stay in, but this day, Alderkit convinced her to let him play with his littermates.        She rushed to the medicine den and Brindlekit sighed, pawing at the snow. Skytail rolled over onto his stomach and looked at Violetpool bouncing away with Alderkit in her jaws.        "I wish Alderkit wasn't sick..." Brindlekit murmured sadly, her tail slumping onto the cold snow floor. She was covered in snow, making it almost impossible to see her body. She closed her eyes and felt her sister Sparkkit lie on top of her.        Violetpool came back from the medicine den to the other kits. "Alright, Sparkkit, Brindlekit, its time for a nap." She nuzzled them with her nose.  Brindlekit wobbled to the nursery, sudden pain in her leg. Sparkkit bounced and ran to the nursery.

       "Sparkkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Sparkpaw. Your mentor will be Cloudfoot. I hope Cloudfoot will pass down all she knows on to you" Cloudstar announced the last kit. "Cloudfoot, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You had received excellent training from Tigerfoot, and you have shown yourself to be brave and strength. You will be the mentor of Sparkpaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to Sparkpaw."        Cloudfoot nodded and Sparkpaw went down to touch noses with her new mentor. "Sparkpaw! Alderpaw! Brindlepaw!" the clan shouted.        Violetpool sniffed and shouted their names the loudest. She felt a cold presence next to her. She turned and whimpered. The ghost of Tigerfoot was sitting next to her, putting his tail on hers. He felt proud of his kits. They grow up so fast. Too fast.        Brindlepaw limped over to Violetpool and licked her ear. Her mentor was the mentor she always wanted: Skytail. She was way to happy but she couldn't show it. She was swallowing back a yowl of happiness.        Alderpaw's mentor was an obvious rude one. Needlewhisker.        Brindlepaw thinks this is because Cloudstar wants to knock some sense into Alderpaw to make him stronger then being a weak, scrawny warrior. She looked over her shoulder to see Skytail waiting for her next to Cloudfoot. Their tails were intertwined and you can tell they were madly in love. Brindlepaw rolled her eyes in jealousy, but she still walked, well limped, over to Skytail.        The pain in her leg was getting worse and worse every day and she hated it. She never saw the medicine cat, but she will soon tell Leafwish. She couldn't stand it anymore. (no pun intended -Collin)        Sparkpaw gave Brindlepaw a smirk once she saw her face. She knew about her huge crush on her new mentor, Skytail.  "Wheres Alderpaw? Cant he come with us?" Sparkpaw looked at her mentor with wide eyes.        Cloudfoot shook her small head. "Sorry, but no Sparkpaw. Needlewhisker wants to train your brother alone." She looked at Skytail with worry planted on her face.        Skytail shook his head and smiled at her. "It'll be fine." He got up and nodded at Brindlepaw to let her know to follow him. Brindlepaw walked closer to her mentor than usual. Skytail felt his fur fluff up.        Cloudfoot and Sparkpaw went their separate ways which meant that Brindlepaw and Skytail were alone. Brindlepaw's fur heated up and laughs softly. "This is going to be interesting"
