As Lovely As Can Be

Joly hadn't been planning on getting all dressed up when he had started. He had simply been curious to see if he could get the whole outfit together without the help of either Courfeyrac or Jehan. He had been pleased to find that he could. The corset was tighter than it had been before, giving him more of the illusion of a waist and he had found himself looking through Musichetta's makeup before he had even realized he was doing it.

He figured there was no harm in experimenting. And Chetta could hardly yell at him if she didn't know. The makeup was not as perfect as it had been when Jehan had done it, but a doctor had to have a steady hand and he put that to good use while applying the shocking red lipstick. He wasn't even going to try to do anything with his hair.

He finished the makeup with a dramatic flourish and grinned at his reflection in the mirror, but the grin faded when he realized that he hardly had the courage to go out on his own all dressed up like this. But he had put far too much effort in to just take it all off again. Well, he supposed there was no harm in just wearing the dress around the house. Grabbing a book from the shelf he settled himself down on the couch and started to read
