Huge thank you to @jackd13 for taking the time to tell me more about @bushmills_irl and its 400 plus year history. The only #bushmills I had tried was the 1930’s one and it was bonkers but today learning and tasting made me want more #bushmillswhiskey in my life. Jack brought with the Distillery Exclusive which was so deep and flavorful, I also really enjoyed the 16 year old. Thanks to @thefieldsd for hosting us, so much fun. I have ordered a 21 year for the house. ✅Bushmills is the oldest working distillery in Ireland got its name from the Northern Irish village where it is situated. Their 16 years old expression has been aged for at least 16 years in a combination of Bourbon casks and Oloroso Sherry butts, before being vatted and married for nine months in large old Port pipes. Limited to a small annual batch release, it is very hard to come by especially now as it just won the title of Irish Single Malt of the Year in the Jim Murray’s 2018 Whisky Bible.
