"Same-sex marriage should be legal" and "Same-sex marriage does not fix many of the problems with legal rights and marriage" are two concepts that can coexist.
#I don't want to beg for access into allo cis hets' special exclusive club in order to secure my legal rights#I want to be having different more complex conversations about the legal rights marriage improves or provides#and who has access to them and who *decides* who has access to them#I don't want to see Obergefell overturned#but I do want us to be re envisioning p much everything associated with legal rights and marriage#op#gay marriage#queers against gay marriage#same sex marriage#legal rights#marriage rights#I actually wrote a short story about a polycule tangling with the fears around how they can protect their legal rights together#despite not being able to legally marry each other
