So that post I reblogged earlier today about archiving our old fics from other platforms by posting them to AO3 since they’re a valuable part of fandom history apparently got to me... after years of avoiding it, I just found and reread a particular fic that I wrote when I was 13 or 14 back when I was Jedi_Arwen on TheForce.Net forums. And yeah, it’s cringey as hell, it very much feels like a love story written by a 13 or 14 year old, plus it relies on the Jedi Apprentice series which I’m not sure anyone knows or cares about anymore — but I actually think it may be salvageable? At least a tiny bit? Suddenly I feel compelled to edit/rewrite it, make the worst of the cringe a bit more palatable, and then let it loose into the world just for funsies. Am I crazy? Is this a death wish? Will it taint my name as a fic author forever? Someone stop me before I do something I regret

Just finished Hawkeye & it was so good. I agree with what you said in your post about the finale. There relationship between Clint & Kate was wonderful & I was so happy to see Yelena again (I loved her interactions with Clint & Kate). I'm really glad they mentioned Natasha so much - it makes sense considering how much she meant to Clint & Yelena but I worried the show might not include that. While I'm more a Clintasha shipper, I loved how supportive Laura was & that they gave her more character

Oh my gosh, yes. Clint and Kate were everything I was afraid to hope for. Hailee Steinfeld was so perfect as Kate. Amazing. And Yelena! I knew she'd be in it, but I didn't realize she'd have as big a role and I'm so happy. She played off both Clint and Kate so well. Florence Pugh, so good. And Renner, of course. Look at this top notch cast. Vera Farmiga? Come on. So good.

Obvs agree about Nat. This felt cathartic to me. And it really gave us so much of her character in the people who mattered most to her. I'm so glad it wasn't just a one off mention in like ep two of Clint being sad. She was in almost every episode and it felt really right. She mattered and I'm so glad it was clear.

I saw some people kind of disappointed, feeling like Fisk was supposed to be the big bad, and he was only in one ep and they felt let down. But I think the real 'big bad' was the bad choices and circumstance that came out of grief or loss of some sort:

* Ronin -- Clint's grief at losing his family. And his subsequent guilt, both at what Ronin did, but also at Natasha's death.

* Yelena -- her grief and rage and guilt at the loss of Natasha. "If I'd just been there," she said. She's angry at Clint for not stopping Natasha, but she's so angry at herself, too. It was nobody's choice but Natasha's.

* Eleanor -- her trying to deal with her husband's sudden death and the debts he left behind.

* Maya -- her father's death that left her so full of rage and hurt.

Fisk was just one of the circumstances of loss.

The one who sort of escaped that spiral was Kate. Who, though she lost her father, saw a horrible attack on her city as a child, she found hope, too. She saw a man with a bow and arrows trying to save the city from aliens and it gave her hope and inspiration, it gave her something positive to reach for.

What a blow to her to find out that her mom thinks she's so incapable of dealing with 'the real world'. Sure, she's spoiled in a lot of ways, and probably naïve in a whole lot of other ones, but this is a girl who decided, when she was very young, that she was going to be something good. And she focused and dedicated herself to that. She's not some idle rich layabout. But mom can't ever see past her own hurt and disappointments. Poor Kate.

Yes! Laura! I'm so relieved. Remember the early promos that made it look like Clint kept making excuses for not being home and she seemed like she was getting pissed? I was so not looking forward to that trite rubbish. BUT NO! She understands! She's supportive! She tells him to do what he thinks is right because she knows him and trust him! Because they are mostly functional adults with a grownup relationship!

I was so happy that they finally gave her character and it makes sense. What a relief. Honestly.

A hot minute ago, there were little asks about if roles were swapped and Higari was the youngest out of his siblings and I just wanted to add on some fluff for gremlin boy in this role.

-Him having his dads quirk exactly was probably bitter sweet. He wishes he could of been around longer/remember their dad enough to have bonding memories about that specifically. He also takes pride in it alot more when he becomes a pro hero- he hopes his dad would be proud of him for it.

-shyly asking advice on how to talk to a crush doesn’t end with any subtlety. Half the siblings are gushing and exciting their little Higari is coming out of his shy shell to have a crush, the other half want to kill this crush already just out of pure protectiveness

-even after debuting as a pro, he’s still treated like a baby by the others. Mostly teasing, but god forbid they learn he was injured cause great now his apartment is filled with mother hens

-Every sibling has Atleast a faint scar from when this little bastard bit them growing up. He won’t ever live it down.

I'm sorry that it took me literally FOREVER to answer this! I've been super focused on Lupin the third right now since I've been catching up with the series so forgive me for my slowness. But either way it's been a while since we discussed this AU! Thinking of just calling it the baby AU cuz, if Higari was the youngest sibling (aka the baby of the family) his siblings would totally be the type to pat him on the head and be like "Lil baby", to which Higari probably jumped at them and put them in a choke hold

Also I laughed at the mental image of Higari just, chilling in bed with a broken leg or something, and his siblings all just chilling with him because yes they are not leaving until they are assured their bro is better. Higari's mum prolly bonked him on the head (darn you for making me worry stupid boy-) then brought him some casserole because Magakure is gonna make sure her son eats actual food not hospital stuff (if Ecto and Higari are together by that point and Ecto is also hurt she brings some for him too).

If it's just bruises I imagine Hono would do this:

First thing baby Higari did to Hono when they first met was bit him, to which Hono screamed (turns out baby Higari had impressive jaw strength), and his very panicked father came to the rescue.
