oh gosh what am even i doing

yeah so i was thinking about a strange magic sleeping beauty au, and started like plotting it out and essentially just smashing the movies together, like its almost weird how well they slot together but its more likely that im just really bad at this, but now im stuck on the ending, cause like i Want a dragon and preferably dragon!roland meeting his (un)fortunate end at the point of mariannes blade, but i dont think im gonna get there

anyway here’s what ive got so far: its WAY too long cause i suck at Not hitting every. little. beat. which is really annoying esp since i miss some that are like kinda important and hit ones that arent

note: i havent watched sleeping beauty in a long while and i rewatched strange magic like a week or two ago, so i mostly, definitely have some things out of order or just plain off 

so bog, roland, marianne, and sunny are all born a few years apart from each other in that order (although sunny and marianne are born in the same year)

lots of little nobles and royals etc are being born around the same time, and that means lotsa parties, and everyone agreed to like just a massive open invite, as opposed to lots of indiv invitations that most certainly wouldve gotten lost no big deal

note: historical medival accuracy is not present AT ALL

but a few years later after the baby boom has simmered down, Dawn is born

party: planned

invitations: sent

goblin king: out

Dawn is forcibly cursed

basically Bog’s dad is maleficent in the beginning and he’s pissed that he wasnt invited or apparently wanted, it doesnt even matter that he didnt even want to go

enter sugar plum fairy with the save and turns killing curse into sleeping curse

Dawn is sent to live in the forest, is taken care of by the pixies, and is called Aurora 

marianne and sunny are best friends (but he’s not in love with her mostly because)

marianne and roland are betrothed as kids, but it doesnt really get serious until theyre all older

Bog’s dad steps down or dies or whatever, and Bog is now Maleficent the Goblin king and in charge of making sure the curse is carried out 

(honestly bog could care less about the whole thing but whatever you say dad)

at some point bog does the love potion fail thing and gets all bitter (im not sure if this happens before or after he becomes the bog king, im thinking after) and bans love and the potion and imprisons sugar plum

about a year before the curses time limit is up, Marianne finds out Roland is a dirty rotten cheater and dumps him

sunny trys to comfort her, cue training/makeover montage

a year later (probably a couple months before the dawns curse is up), sunny and marianne are goofing off in the woods and come across “Aurora”

Aurora and marianne click right away not realizing theyre long-lost sisters

sunny falls in love almost instantly

[at this point its basically just the Strange Magic movie]

Roland tries to convince marianne to take him back, fails, and cons Sunny into stealing love potion 

Sunny steals a love potion because hes an idiot 

Bog finds out, crashes a party, announces that princess Dawn’s curse will be carried out if the dumb potion isnt returned by moondown 

(at this point he doesnt actually have her yet but details shmetails)

Marianne, finally realizing Aurora is actually her long-lost sister Dawn, runs off to Bogs castle to go save her

Sunny goes to find the imp who snagged to potion before it could be used, or even opened, and before roland could get his hands on it

and of course roland uses the whole debacle to finally get his army

meanwhile, Dawn and her pixies are on their way back to the kingdom

and she’s all mopey cause sure being a princess is ahmazing, but she thinks she’ll never be able to see sunny or marianne again

but then goblins and she’s being taken to Bog’s castle

for Some Reason some goblin has one of the things that triggers Dawns curse and woops there she goes night-night

well at least shes not singing anymore small mercies sorta

bog does feel kinda guilty tho

the kingdom falls asleep execpt for marianne, sunny (and pare????), and roland (and his “army”), who are technically outside of the kingdom at the time

[again its like literally the strange magic movie at this point]

so marianne busts in and is like GIVE HER BACK and they fight to a draw

of course marianne flips when she sees that dawns curses is in effect ‘YOU SAID YOUD WAIT YOU SCALY-’

and bogs like ‘yeah sorry about that, but Plum’s here so antidote maybe?’

cue riddle nonsense, subsequent ‘i hate love’ scene, and strange magic flight

meanwhile, roland and sunny have met up and reached the castle, bog sees the army and thinks hes been played, roland tries to lovepotion marianne

yada yada etc etc

i guess at this point it basically ends llike strange magic 

but instead of sunny breaking the curse, its actually marianne kissing dawns forehead that does the trick or something like that

unfortunately no dragon, not without some serious deviation which for some reason i find really hard to do

anyway, theres a bunch of little details that i didnt include but would want to (like thang looking for a baby not a grown girl), but this is already way too weirdly specific and simultaneously vague idk, this is why i dont fandom in the open
