So I've downloaded Gacha Club and it's Really Fucking Cool actually
I got into the app and figured out the controls a little, then I decided to make my ocs but in gacha form, just to see what would happen.
So I make a new default and decide to start with skin colour, as you do, and immediately hollered 'Jesus Christ' at my phone because these are the options.
Tumblr media
This crazy amount of variety is kept for the other aspects. If you want an accessory or hat or shirt pattern, it's probably there, you just have to scroll through the hundreds of other options that are also fully adjustable in size, shape, colour, sometimes position, and the poses! I was surprised at the amount of poses.
It's like Picrew but on drugs. It's like getting a Barbie playset for free but surprise! You get the rest of the mall too because there's more than 200 options for hair base, a hundred more for bang options, and much more of props/weapons. You can create literally any character and add your own twists because there's just so much cool stuff! It doesn't even have to be human. Have you see those Weirdcore Gacha videos?
I also realize that it's great to help pick colours and outfits, and maybe adjust your own fashion sense because of how you can pair accessories/props with scenarios and personality. It can also be a medium for people who don't draw or write but still want some creative juices flowing.
I'm still not in the fanbase but I think I get it now. This game is so popular because of. You know. The seemingly unlimited customization that's possible. And it's free to download.
Gacha videos are literally just people playing dress up and house and sharing their playtime with the rest of the world and getting horrendously cyberbullied for it but we don't talk about that
Even the ones that make me go 'oh, yeah, this is terrible' like 'characters doing/meeting random stuff', 'charactets/ocs reacting to stuff', the infinite wacky AUs and crossovers and nonsensical storylines that have obvious references to other media, I completely understand the logic behind all of it, because when I was younger and I had a paper and pencil, I would draw the stupidest shit and blatantly trace from other people's stuff (I know it's bad now I never posted it don't worry) and make them do what I thought was funny/emotional because I didn't care about quality moreso the fact that I made it.
It's so weird seeing the spirit of what I used to create reincarnated into another generation (all the bad and good bits), and making it so public too. I'm just really glad that there's lots of kids out there who are still having fun and somehow dealing with the crushing judgemental force that is the internet.
Edit: I'm not saying you have to be supportive or that you have to like it at all, in fact, you can express your opinion against these types of things, I'm not gonna stop you. I'm just taking a side and expressing my personal stance on this.

Immunity Challenge #1: RESULTS
Tumblr media
Let’s meet our judges!
ALI
i'm ali, you can never escape me I will judge all the things. I'm a author of a hit series of books like "choke" and "I cry because I'm not normal". I am a fan of lamps and biscuits floating on the open sea. Love you all and remember to never sing to a cactus.
DENNIS
Whats up. I'm Dennis and Musicvideo challenges are probably my favorite type of challenges in the whole org world. Even though I have never won a lipsync challenge, thats why I am now a bitter judge.
JOHNNY
Hi It’s Johnny! Youve never seen me in this series before but I have a low-key obsession with music videos for being a straight white male, so I figure that judging these is always right up my ally
NEHEMIAH
Hi I’m Nehemiah aka Nehe but y’all probably never heard of me. I’m a big music fanatic and coming into orgs lip sync videos have been one of my favorite challenges tho I never gotten the chance to convince a tribe to do a HSM song.
Let’s show the videos and the scores!
FAIAVA “THE BOLD”
youtube
ALI Originality: 4 Visual Appeal: 6 Song Incorporation: 4 Effort: 4
"some of the glitches made it confusing, quality wasn't the best, but y'all did good woo"
DENNIS Originality: 7 Visual Appeal: 6 Song Incorporation: 7 Effort: 7
Hey guys! Awesome video! I definitely could see how much fun some of you had creating their parts for the lipsync challenge. Some of you definitely beasted it and others sadly did okay. I took Adrians stuttering as creative freedom since I had no idea if that was wanted or a corruption in the video file and since it was fitting to the song I kinda liked it. My only problem was that some of you just not had the same enthusiams and energy as others did <3
JOHNNY Originality: 6 Visual Appeal: 3 Song Incorporation: 5 Effort: 8
I think Matt and Michael absolutely killed it, and I even think Adrian’s McSpasms of his video were kinda of iconic, but I do think the video was poorly edited a bit (sorry for whoever edited), which is why the Visual Appeal got the 3. I don’t think the words were as matched up as they could me, and I also think that Matt was really the only one FULLY enunciating the words to the camera, which is key for these videos. I also think the song was kindaaaaaaa basic and definitely was a good classic choice, but I was hoping to see a way you guys REALLY stood out and I didn’t see it. For Song Incorporation, y’all didn’t really match the song with your video, you just lip sang, so there’s that 5. I like the video bc you were all in it and you guys clearly cared, but there were just a few major flaws for me.
NEHEMIAH Originality: 7 Visual Appeal: 6 Song Incorporation: 5 Effort: 6
XODIE “THE BRIGHT”
youtube
ALI Originality: 7 Visual Appeal: 7 Song Incorporation: 7 Effort: 7
"mr mo with the umbrella did THAT"
DENNIS Originality: 7 Visual Appeal: 8 Song Incorporation: 8 Effort: 5
Hey guys! Your video was SO WELL edited. Your mimics and the song was very spot on good job! Ontop of that. I like how you all danced very similar, what made it very appealing. My only problem with your submission is that only 3 people actually showed off in the video and because of that the spotlight on certain people seemed too long for me (I didn't know where else to subtract points so I did at effort, so this is not directed towards you guys who actually submitted and edited). Good job guys!!!
JOHNNY Originality: 9 Visual Appeal: 6 Song Incorporation: 9 Effort: 4
I love that you picked a song that I didn’t know super well, even though it was from Glee, it wasn’t a super basic song. I do think the video was dominated by Mo a lot, but I do understand that Mo was the person who was the ‘lead’ so I appreciate the story, and also Mo made the video. Only three of you competing may have been a miscommunication or people not being able to compete, but if you want your tribe to do well, you step up and compete even if you’re not SUPER comfortable (sorry my opinion on these face reveal issues), so I just don’t think you deserve as many points for effort as the other tribe bc I’m sure some of them stepped out of their comfort zones as well, especially considering you only had half the tribe. I think the footage of the two people who WEREN’T Mo were a bit spotty, and it was hard to see what you were saying in accordance to the song, so it was tough for me there. I think it was super original and the song and the dance WORKED, but the amount of people and the spotty bits from the other two in the group kinda hurt it a smidgen for me.
NEHEMIAH Originality: 9 Visual Appeal: 9 Song Incorporation: 10 Effort: 10
ILE OAU “THE BENIGN”
youtube
ALI Originality: 10 Visual Appeal: 7 Song Incorporation: 8 Effort: 10
"the editing tied it together, y'all did that"
DENNIS Originality: 7 Visual Appeal: 7 Song Incorporation: 6 Effort: 8
Hey guys! I have seen quite a few Toxic lipsyncs by now but this definitely had something. Some of you did an amazing job on Effort and visual Appeal. Your costumes and your energy were awesome and definitely helped for the appeal of the video. My only problem here is that not everyone showed the same amound of energy in the lipsync which led to downtimes :s
JOHNNY Originality: 6 Visual Appeal: 8 Song Incorporation: 7 Effort: 8
I think the energy was great and matched the song, which definitely helps with the song incorporation element. I love the lights and everything that y’all had going on there. Really matched the mood of the song, which gave you guys some song incorporation points. I guess that was a part of the video, specifically two of you had it (sorry don’t TOTALLY know all your names). The end of that video was frightening in a good and bad way. Overall, definitely more fun to watch than the other two. I like that you had 5 out of 6 competing, that’s what I deem as effort. I think you picked a very basic song, so that’s where that came from, but overall pretty decent video. I dig it. Nothing AMAZING, but it was good for sure
NEHEMIAH Originality: 8 Visual Appeal: 9 Song Incorporation: 7 Effort: 8
Which means with a score of 101 to 122 to 124
Tumblr media
Congratulations to ILE OAU and XODIE! You two tribes are safe.
Sorry FAIAVA, not even your advantage brought you to win. One of you guys will be the first person voted out of Survivor Supreme: Loyaute.
Votes are due by July 26th @10PM EST.
