omg pls let’s be Xman nerds together. I actually almost shared our fb friendiversary video today lmao but all the pics it hose were from one day and I couldn’t figure out how to edit it it. I REally wanna see the Xman origins movie with fassbender and I can’t remember his name rn but I heard the two sequels to that are not very good? I’m so down to get into comics tho, Thomas and another friend of mine are really into superheroes so they’re teaching me all about it lmao. whatd u think of th end?
YES. I’ve never been super into the comics but let’s be X-MAN NERDS TOGETHER
I almost did too and didn’t for the same exact reason lmao
Okay that one is First Class. It’s v good. Fassbender is Fantastic. The two sequels to it are Days of Future Past, which got alright to good reviews esp since it basically removed X3 from canon IIRC, and Apocalypse, which was Not well-received.
Omg thomas that’s amazing. What are their thoughts? I’m only versed in X-Men tbh #thanksmom. I grew up with the movies and also both the X-Men cartoons played all the time at my house lol. I loved X-Men Evolution bc it was the High School AU before I knew what fanfiction and the beloved High School AU were.
I was devastated at the end of Logan, but thought it was beautiful. A part of me will always hope that he isn’t really fully dead, but narratively, I think it was well-constructed and had appropriate build up. He spent the movie wanting to die, but only achieved peace once he remembered and embraced life’s beauty.
I also think the ending with Laura and the other children escaping to Canada provides the X-Men franchise with an incredible opportunity. They have an entire universe that only exists in the movies - this is like only loosely based on one of the comic series but it’s very different apparently - and now they have these kids and a world to rebuild. Xavier and Logan are dead. Supposedly, all of the X-Men are dead (presumably because of the Westchester Incident). But we don’t really know that for sure. So in terms of future films, they can continue on chronologically (following Laura and the others), but they can also go backwards. Aocalypse was the first film post-timeline reset, and that was essentially the founding of Xavier’s School in the 80s. There’s so much content between the 80s and 2000, when Xavier and Logan encountered each for the first time in the original timeline. Then X-Men and X2 happen. Then we don’t really know what’s next, or how X3 changes, and then what happens between 2002 and 2029, except for some Wolverine stuff. And that in 2028, the Westchester Incident happens.
Ugh I’m just like overwhelmed lmao
Basically I loved Logan and I’m so so so thrilled that Logan has changed the game for the series, and all the superhero competition films. Like, Wow!!!!
sorry for SO MUCH INFO DUMP. this might have become my Warcraft
I want to rewatch the whole series now lmao
