thanks @thejakeformerlyknownasprince for this post making me think again about my not-one-but-two AUs of Aftran deciding to stay in the fight instead of becoming a whale.

Left - human nothlit AU; right - morph-capable yeerk AU (she lives in a tank in Ax's scoop in the woods). Number One animorphs side character appearing in only two out of fifty-four books of all time.
