But for now I thought about sth else. As a friend of people that have absolutely the worst taste in men (and women but that’s my brother so imma just keep him out of it cause he’s on a whole other level lol) I thought about boys being green or red flag in their girl’s friends eyes.

Lando is a red flag. I love him and he’s my baby but I can’t lie to myself…he’s a fucking red flag. If any of my friends met him they’d be like “bitch you’re giving us lectures about who’s right or not for us but you end up with him?!!! Hypocrite.”

Oscar is a green flag through and through. At least one of my besties would ask if we’re ever trying poly cause if so she’s all there for it. But they’d be worried about my sex life that’s for sure. Not that I think Oscar is bad I just think you can think that when meeting him for the first time

Charles is kind of green but they put like…red dots over it. Because yes he’s nice, he’s a gentleman and looks like can give me the orgasms I deserve but something’s off they just don’t know what yet

oscar def looks very soft and gentle. girlies would be like “are you sure you want him?? like have you had sex yet?” and suddenly she’s gushing about how good he is in bed like thank god you asked!! let me tell you allll about it. and then he gets a full green flag

they def think smth is off w charles, they think he’s not gonna stay around. he’s got a fast paced life and a string of short term relationships and she’s the first one to last a substantial amount of time. they’re waiting for the other shoe to drop, him to fall out of love and leave her, cheat on her, stop being a perfect prince charming. they’d definitely find things wrong with him, mostly how often he’s away and how they don’t get much time together, or say he’s trying to isolate her from them when he invites her out to a string of races and she’s gone for weeks at a time traveling with him.

they would be sooo confused about max because he would zone out while meeting her friends, they start talking about shopping and he starts staring at the wall behind one of her friends and looks so grumpy then his girl grabs his hand under the table and his face softens instantly and he grins as he looks over to her, lifts their intertwined hands and presses a kiss to each of her fingers then the back of her hand. he’d keep doing cute little things like that then staring off and looking grouchy. she has to explain that’s just his thinking face in the groupchat when everyone asks why he looked so annoyed for the entire lunch. they’d have definitely snuck pics and send them in the group chat like babe hes soo angry why are you with him?? and she sends back the cutest candids of him. sends videos of him carrying his cats around like babies and speaking to them in a baby voice. that convinces them and they’re still a little wary and waiting for her to call crying about him being an asshole, but the call never comes.

carlos is a green flag when they see his pics and then they meet him and they’re all begging him to leave him but she won’t bc she loves him

i’d like to add that danny is an instant green flag and they’re all asking if he has brothers or australian friends he can introduce them to. they all love him from the first meeting and are like, okay when is the wedding??

ok like again i feel like people come to these conclusions about the show and use them as proof but forget that it might not actually be substantiated. like maybe chauncey did bully stede for being too fruity as a kid! but we dont actually ever see that on screen. best we got is him calling him baby bonnet. idk like im sure chauncey bullied stede too but the extent of that and reasons behind it arent actual facts laid out by canon!

i mean, stede says that he forgot that him and nigel were twins. its possible he remembers nigel more than he remembers chauncey if nigel was the one leading his bullying. we defs hear nigel mocking him in a way that feels like pointed attacks on his masculinity, that his “boat” is so tiny, he was always crying and picking flowers, that hes a coward, etc. but nigel isnt chauncey so even though we can theorize that chauncey bullied him in a similar manner, we cant actually say that as canon.

what we do know about chauncey is that hes a higher ranking official than nigel (admiral vs captain) hes respected enough to hold office with the king! the way he talks is also very different from nigel where they dont have the same mannerisms at all. i feel like we could reasonably theorize that chauncey is the more responsible twin and nigels a bit more… frat boy. chauncey calls stede baby bonnet, so hes obviously not fond of him and probably wouldve partook in his bullying as well.

but the best i got is these two and tbh i dont think theyre styled similarly enough where i feel like they wouldve done smth with the hair and outfits to be more identical

but when it comes to how chauncey talks about stede, i feel like it has a different vibe than nigel? i mean, his big speech at the end at stede is so different than how nigel derides him.

“stede bonnet is not a human. youre a monster. a plague. you defile beautiful things. my dear brother. your own family. youve even managed to bring historys greatest pirate to ruin. and here you are, unscathed, gods perfect little rich boy.”

its fascinating to me how “you defile beautiful things” is often interpreted as stede not conforming to masculinity properly, but thats such a?? not masc thing to say? where his list of beautiful things is his brother, stedes family, and fucking blackbeard. its also a statement said with so much hatred, where he goes back to stede as a child even, describing him as gods perfect little rich boy.

i guess for me this doesnt read as something attacking stede for being gender nonconforming. it feels like something much deeper than that, speaking on jealousy and resentment at the privilege he may view stede as having. it feels like his hatred for stede has a lot more depth in comparison to nigel, whos obviously coming from a position of liking to fuck with stede, who even goes as far as inviting himself over for tea so he can continue his bullying.

but its like! yeah! chauncey couldve bullied stede for being feminine! but this isnt something that has been shown in the series.

Hi dear! I've seen you didn't talk much about Sadistic Beauty these days... What are your thoughts on ending and two side stories? Especially Wookying and Minho's one? Tbh I'm disappointed and disturbed :(

i had to step out of this story bc it was leaving me frustrated, irritated and disappointed not to mention very confused LOL. yep, im still fairly disappointed with where the author went with this. a major conflict that should or could have been in the main story was the whole drama including wookyung fighting with doona to get minho but it was swept under the rug only to return as some after thought as a side story (probably excluding doona).  there was such a great opportunity to finish it in the main story but the author decided that minho had to suffer all of the consequences and everyone else is going scot-free LOL. truly a shame. i wasnt surprised that doona was ending up with haesol, never was into them, still not into them. i have a certain distaste for characters like haesol, he’d be best described as a simp. and i absolutely loathe simps lol. there’s a fine line with being there for someone and being there in hopes that smth more might change, he def wants to date doona and saying that he’s okay with how things are and if they don’t date, is basically a blatant lie to himself. if that was the case, he wouldn’t let her string him along and use him for sex. the feelings he has for her will just be kept in the back, but it will most likely resurface in some way or another. in the long run, it’d hurt him and that’s just not worth the hassle. obv since the writer wanted them to happen, he’s prob gonna get what he wants lol. i def found the whole rivalry btw donna and wookyung in order to get to minho way more fascinating, and wished it was explored more. now, the only thing im happy with is gyerin is probably getting her happy ending with the new girl. she’s also the only one who went “fuck this” once she saw doona wasn’t going to reciprocate her feelings, and im rlly glad she did that. at first, i didnt think much of her, but now, seeing how the story went (lmao), im all for gyerin being happy. and as for wookyung and minho, im interested in how their story will unfold. but i feel so so bad for minho, he was a jerk and an asshole i wont deny that, but he didnt deserve all of the hate and harm he got and still is receiving according to the side story preview. wookyung is still a great and fascinating character, i do like characters like him, but how he was used was just not satisfying. and it seems like there might be a case of stockholm syndrome coming up where he might fall for wookyung. i just wish doona had smth to do with it before she parted ways or she could have helped minho, but yeah. *shrugs* this story left me confused as to what the author is doing, there is wasted potential and opportunities at every corner. the plot goes one way then goes another to end on a weird note. i also think the whole gl, bl stuff was more of a fanservice thing and that’s probably why it’s more of a disjointed story? as in, i feel like the gl and bl stuff should either have been more of a focus and woven into the story or it should have been entirely separate so the author wouldn’t have to shove many things at once and just focus on one or two pairing. one thing i might add for the story is that it felt as if it was trying to make us surprised, but the so called “twists” that happened just made it more confusing and those probably shouldn’t have been there as they don’t add much to the story narrative. back to gyerin, you can see that gyerin and the new girl can have their own separate story from the start (she didn’t have much to do with the primary conflict and could easily have a flashback to doona instead of the whole fanservice lol). the same goes for wookyung and minho as well, and it’d have been perfectly fine. at the end you basically see three pairings, the m/f, the f/f and the m/m. however, we dont even know if minho is into men? so i’m not sure how’s that gonna be considered BL? then again, every pairing could have been in the main story, but it’s not? for some reason??? it feels as if the author wanted their pairings without putting in the effort of making it into the main story, hence the side stories or they just wanted to make it separated without putting too many characters in it. obviously, for wookyung and minho, there’s no way doona wouldn’t have done smth if it was fully explored in the main story, and it might have changed the ending too. there’s multiple ways the story could have gone, but this one was the only conflict that was much more interesting imo, but it wasnt used that much.

gyerin didn’t really have much to do there other than be lesbian fanservice for doona (and the audience, writer and maybe the artist too?), and to be some kind of support for haesol. that’s about it, so i can understand why she’d not have a full blown romance in the main story, but seeing that she keeps reappearing, she still could have her side story integrated into it. lmao i don’t even kno if doona is bi/pan lol or if she just had sex bc she was drunk then did it just for pleasure without being interested in women at all.

EDIT: iirc doona did get aroused seeing gyerin uh doing stuff, so it could be possible that she is interested in women, but maybe only sexually? although i still could be wrong lol and it could just have been a moment of “I’m straight, but horny and u’ll do for now”. she could be in the closet too, who knows.

overall, sadistic beauty had some interesting conflict, some good characters (ill never like haesol lol), good art and the storytelling by this artist is well paced, but the execution and where the story went leaves a sour taste in my mouth. would i recommend this story? absolutely not. it is so frustrating, and for what? i wish i had saved myself this headache from the very start but the art and the fact that doona was a dom was what reeled me in. i only came back to it to see if the writer redeemed their story in some ways, but... well... you saw how that went.  i would follow the artist if i could, their art is beautiful. however, i cannot say the same for the writer. from my exp, it seems that many webtoons have good art, but the writing definitely leaves way more room for improvement. that said, i do hope ppl will learn that in order to make a great comic/webtoon/manga and so on, it is not only about pretty drawings. the story and writing should be up to par with the art. if not, it should be at least close to it. because the art might attract people, but if the story doesn’t resonate, if it doesn’t make much sense, then ppl are bound to leave and drop it. and what is a story, but pretty pictures and nothing substantial in it? nothing, but superficial beauty.

honestly this is just a very soft combo like. candace is someone chase would probably see as very delicate and comparative to a flower … like not in the sense that he’d mother hen her or think she can’t handle her own day to day life, but in the sense that he’s always gentle with her ?? chase isn’t the type to censor himself, necessarily, so it’s not like he’d never be honest or speak his mind or be … HIMSELF but unlike with other people he wouldn’t actively seek out annoying her and if he ever did heck up, he’d immediately back pedal and try to fix things as opposed to being like “lol idc perish”

selphy / penny. because their dynamics would probably go really well together, especially with penny having such a difficult history. selphy is so upbeat and positive even when she’s feeling down, she’d actively reach out to penny no matter the circumstances. she’ll talk to her for 983475983475 hours about books too it’s fine. come work in her library, penny.

i figured we wouldn't get anything during the super bowl because none of tptb behind the show mentioned anything and there would definitely be some kind of warning like 'hey watch this' like what marvel did (i think) but now everyone's expecting there to be something on valentine's and it makes sense because of the whole love/summer of love theme but... we as a fandom are so good at getting our expectations up only for nothing substantial to happen and i don't want everyone to be let down again

no yeah i feel like i didnt expect anything for the superbowl and tbh i think WHENEVER we get a trailer, there will be some warning like they wont surprise drop anything, they’ll let us know like “stay tuned tonight at x time” or whatever. and that applies for valentines day for sure like i think its def a possibility of us getting smth, but if its like noon on the 14th and there’s nothing from st social media, we’re prob not getting anything. tbh i do think its kinda soon for a trailer. i mean for s2 they released the first trailer a little under 3 1/2 months to the season drop. valentines would be a little over 4 1/2 months. and i think they could def release it then if they wanted to (frankly, i think the trailer is probably already finished just waiting to be released at this point) but they probably also want to concentrate whatever they release closer to the actual release date. like if they release a trailer now, then for the next 5 months that’s one less thing they have to release once ACTUAL promo season begins. and yeah, sure, they could always release MORE, but i think they want to release the absolute minimum amount of content possible while still promoting the show

pt. 2 of six and the kid’s misadventures through the maw because it’s late again and i have a shitty sense of productivity!!

the two simply collapsing and holding each other when they cut off the janitor’s arms, laughing because finally they’ve defeated the monster and he can never do what he did to them to another kid ever again

this of course later devolves into crying because god that was so stressful and way too close and they also might have just killed someone??? they LITERALLY JUST AMPUTATED SOMEONE’S ARMS????? G O D

also the whole “i will risk my entire life for you” thing gets really intense after they leave the lair, esp since every enemy they encounter now is perfectly capable of seeing them

one of them actively acts as a distraction while the other gets what needs to be done done

i.e. getting a key, running to a specific place in the room, pressing switches and moving latches, etc.

it’s usually the kid acting as a distraction because he feels like it’s his responsibility as the older one to protect six, directly and indirectly, as much as he can

despite having massive fears of and issues with being left behind, they are perfectly fine with actually being left behind if it means the other can survive and go on

the kid has defs just “accepted his fate” more than once after helping six into a crawlspace or up into a vent right as their enemy enters the room

thankfully six beats this habit out of him

they probs v emotively signs his name instead of “stupid, sacrificial little turd” because they have yet to learn all the signs for those words

six has their moments like these too, esp when they’re running from smth because they has substantially lower stamina than the kid. once they start really tiring, they let go of his hand and either just stop running or straight up fall to the ground

thankfully the kid returns the favour and beats the shit out of this habit

they also develop special, individual signs for each other!!

where the kid used to refer to six as “six”, he now calls them “brave-heart”

where six used to refer to the kid as “boy”, they now call him “kind-gentle-good”

their universal sign for each other when their individual signs are too tedious is “i love you”

haha can you imagine what kinds of convos would take place as they’re being chased

While I enjoy your art my biggest issue is mostly with your comics. They always appear very awkward in that they dont seem to carry the story well. Alot of the pages look even like filler and dont have much substantial story. I think if you looked up how to properly space panels,fill them and add slightly more dynamic shots it would carry the story easier with slightly less pages. Maybe it'd feel less like a workload for you as well.

YEAH i feel that, while i enjoy making comics theyre def not my specialty or anything.  i get really invested in dialogue and pacing and neglect the art part i think?  thats why there seems to be a lot of filler; i try to pace the pages a certain way so theres not like loads of dialogue on each page since i tend to write the characters speaking a lot u_u it might just be me who thinks this honestly but when u read the pages straight through the pacing is nicer than when ur just waiting for an update each week? i guess ??  THIS and also someone has pointed out to me in the past that i tend to work more in a storyboarder kinda way than a comic one b/c i like to draw like, the same shot, just slightly different, for multiple panels, just to show little things like changes in expression or something, so thats also probably an issue but w/e

as for the more dynamic shots i do think i should improve on that too and i desperately want to jasdklf its harder than i thought tbh.  that and…honestly i just really hate drawing backgrounds So thats why theres a lot of close-up shots of characters speaking if im being real LOL, i enjoy drawing characters way more.  but in future pages im going to suck it up and just go for it to make it look better

there hasnt been A Lot going on in mirrors so far besides exposition and talking (in the first three chapters) so its been hard to make it look super interesting art-wise tbh :c the later chapters are a lot less boring i think, plus i havent thumbnailed/drawn them yet so i can def try to improve on the dynamic shots and stuff!

i think the workload will be an issue either way b/c rn its a lot b/c i have a ton of pages due to how i pace things, but if i change that then it’ll be a lot b/c of how much drawing i’ll have to do for each page instead, yknow?  so the workload isnt rly..smth i feel like i can change, which is fine, im gonna go through with it anyway!
