I don't expect a super serious answer from this, but I'm just curious. in a perfect world, how would hs^2 be written? do you have any particular headcanons or plot lines that would be interesting to explore? I understand the hesitation in answering a question like this, because other people might try to discredit your critiques under the guise of "well its not ur headcanons so that's why ur mad". anyways, just curious because I respect your perspective and ideas
In complete honesty? The first thing I would consider vital is a diverse team of people - genuinely diverse - to consider every point of representation with. I’m talking people of different races (to avoid the anti-black coding of Gamzee), with mental illnesses (to avoid the ableism in both Gamzee and Dirk), with different gender identities (to more accurately and healthily portray Jade, Roxy, Vriska, June - any character we could feasibly want to make trans or nonbinary), with different romanticisms and sexualities (so that we could write genuine MLM and WLW relationships without falling into homophobic pitfalls; to avoid biphobic stereotypes), and overall, with different traumatic experiences and triggers (so that we could more accurately gauge what triggers would need to be tagged and how to go over them in an appropriate and respectful manner).
We could never be 100% perfect, but with a team like that, we could at least get close to it.
Additionally, I’d bring back either fan prompts or closely listen to fan theories and conversations. Homestuck^2 was touted to be written with the fandom in mind; to consider the direction we were asking it to go in, while basing it around a general barebones structure. I’d want to make sure we were including as much of that in as humanly possible. So, if a fan theory seemed like it’d fit into the story? I’d want to include that with the rest of the text; if the fans liked a specific character? I’d want to try and include them more often. Little things to show that we’re listening and that we’re writing the story WITH the fans - like how early Homestuck used to be.
On an actual storyline basis, I really do love the concept of Meat and Candy; that there’s one timeline that goes off the rails and one that is very rigidly stuck to a track. I wouldn’t want to change that concept entirely, but I would want to make it more palpatable for people to read.
This would mean, for me, absolutely getting rid of anything to do with Yiffany. I’d completely replace that with Dave and Jade having a child together via ectobiology; how Jade has to raise their child in Dave’s absence after he goes missing, how that affects her, who she turns to for comfort and help.
I’d want to focus Candy more on that feeling of helplessness and dissociation. On John feeling adrift in a world that doesn’t quite connect with him, that doesn’t entirely feel real; how that would affect his relationships, his friends, his family. In this timeline, all of the rebellion stuff would be completely background to the interpersonal connections everyone has (the things that supposedly don’t matter, as is the point of Candy), with much more emphasis on how useless and frivolous the whole war is. It’d get to a point where nobody actually knows why they’re fighting anymore except for the fact that they are, and that even Jane, who started it out of a genuine fear for the human race, is getting tired of it, is losing resources, is starting to realise that she’s drifting away from her own child.
A truce would be garnered, started by Jane who just very much wants to reconnect with her son, with Karkat taking on the role as troll emissiary. It features long talks in a large, empty room, pouring over papers, where Jane admits that she doesn’t actually know what anyone is up to these days, how long it’s been since she’s seen her husband, since she’s seen John, and Karkat quietly confesses that it’s been several years since he’s seen Dave or Jade, and that he misses them both.
After that, a lot of the content of Candy would focus on healing. They would get back to their happily ever after, even though some things would never be the same, and there would still be inconsequentialities. It would also correspond with John coming to the slow realisation that he really doesn’t need a plot to be happy at all; that just because it doesn’t matter to the overarching story doesn’t mean it can’t matter to him.
The Candy timeline, therefore, would close early; it would fade from our view just as Dirk feared, but it would be happy and content, and free from any further meddling. I’d essentially want to enforce this idea that, yes, we can still have happy endings - even if they aren’t “full of meaning”. They can still be satisfying.
The Meat timeline, on the other hand, would have a significant focus on Dirk and his attempts to continue the plot. I think it would be fun, admittedly, if nothing went the way he thought it would. That after all of his villany and his acceptance of destruction in order to facilitate something he thought would be better, he actually just lost complete and utter control.
The plot isn’t something that he alone can continue. It’s created with character conflict, with motivations and rises and falls and losses and gains; trying to recreate SBURB, to try and restart the cycle, isn’t what a plot needs to be. It isn’t what he thinks it will do.
I’m unsure if you’ve seen this recently, but there’s been a lot of fanwork around the Lord!Jake English idea that went around several years back (when people saw the Caliborn sona). Now, this I’d want to put into it.
Jake, fed up with being stepped on, walked over, hurt, suffering from the trauma of being completely and utterly ruined by Dirk, absolutely flips shit. He chases after Dirk to seek revenge, to cut short whatever bullshit he’s trying to do, and therefore much of the comic becomes this constant back and forth with an increasing fear for Dirk the closer Jake gets as he traverses Paradox Space.
It’s very much clear that when Jake arrives, Dirk will lose. There’s no question about it. Nobody suggests that anything else will happen. There’s several arguments on Meat’s Earth C over whether or not they should try to stop Jake, or let him stop Dirk - and whether or not Jake will calm down afterwards or continue his rampage.
In the end, Dirk fails. Jake catches up to him, and just before he hits the killing blow, the entire thing goes dark. Our narrator dead, the plot abandoned; there is nothing more to see. This I would want to use to enforce the idea that, yes, plot can still be satisfying as hell and still have integral moments and be heavy and harsh - but it can also end in a way that leaves open questions because that shows that it isn’t the best ending you can get.
And then we jump back to Terezi, using her Seer powers. Both timelines have been her trying to use her powers to See what’s in store, where she should go, what she should do. She’s still floating through Paradox Space, looking for Vriska, and as such she’s met with this... sort of internal dilemma.
She knows, now, that the chances of her dying out here are high. She also knows that even if she does survive, she’s pretty much never going to see Vriska again anyway. She knows there’s a chance at a happier relationship with John, and that the only way she can get that is if she somehow manages to make a timeline where Meat and Candy merge together at once.
So, she flies back. She manages to arrive on Earth C the day of John’s big decision, and interrupts him before he can go to the picnic. Through their dialogue, John gets it stuck in his head that, hey, there’s something BIGGER out here that you need to do, but you need to do that amazing thing again where you make a third Choice.
When John arrives at the picnic, he decides to eat some of the pumpkin instead - to which you might be thinking, what pumpkin? The one he put there, of course, using his retcon powers.
So we start on the Pumpkin timeline, written entirely in the 1st person narrative from John’s POV. It’s a completely biased interpretation of what’s going on, but it’s honest to John’s own thoughts and feelings, too, allowing everyone to act the way they usually would do without any influence, but still having a narrative touch.
It shows John actively fighting to free the timeline from Dirk’s and Alternate Calliope’s narrative controls, those little hooks they’ve planted in it since time began, with a lot of back-and-forth as the two talk to John through the narration (which, he hears their voices as thoughts in his head).
John attempts to free them both from their own biases and chains, encouraging Alternate!Calliope to leave the space she’s isolated herself in and join Earth C while convincing Dirk to undo the bullshit villain schtick he’s on (and that plot or no plot, there’s still a reason worth living for).
It’d be a timeline filled with references back to original Homestuck (and funny quips from both Alternate!Calliope and Dirk along the way), a lot of morality discussion, plenty of theorising on narrative control and arcs and the placement of plot and fluff in a satisfying story, and have plenty of representation and romance and hints towards kids, too (such as nonbinary RoxyJaneCallie, DaveJadeKat, aromantic Jake, JohnDirk [because I couldn’t stop myself, honestly, with how their Classpects work so well hand in hand], and definitely RoseMary being the first to adopt a child that they absolutely do not call Vriska).
It’d fill plotholes the fandom wants to be filled, and it’d have drama, of course, in the form of figuring out a way to destroy Lord English that doesn’t inherently lead to the Candy timeline. But it’d go back and forth between the heavy, plot-filled moments and the slower, relationship-based moments, with more humanising and development of Dirk and Alternate!Calliope and John as rounded characters.
That’s the best my tired mind can come up with right now. It’s something I’ve daydreamed about a lot, actually; how I’d rewrite Homestuck^2, or what my own ending to Homestuck would be using it as a foundation. I hope it makes sense! It’s a fun little thought experiment, honestly.

The Road to Mayhem
((So I was struggling to come up with a story that wasn’t filled with absolute angst... Then I got the idea to make a bunch of lighthearted one-shots between the sonas over at Discord. Specifically, this includes me, @astel4, @sillypanda3, @foxyfan666‘s Reaper, @kittydoesthings and her void baby Shadow, and @a-fanfic-fan‘s Silver.))
((Also... Yes, M’s full name has been revealed to be “Mikearu”... Yes, he’s in the body of a shadow lich child... No, I’m not giving context as to how that happened. It was a Discord RP and explaining it here would take up WAY too much text space...))
((Warning. There is some swearing here. Sorry!))
((Anyways... I hope you enjoy!))
((Happy Thanksgiving!))
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Panda, put that halberd down right now!”
“No! I don’t think I will!”
That describes basically every day in the house. What would normally be every parent’s nightmare is just an everyday occurrence to the strange family of friends. When you hear about family spending time together, a self-entitled mother chasing around a halberd-wielding feral child wouldn’t even crack top fifteen. And yet… here we are.
Just family things.
Astel: “You’re gonna hurt yourself! Or someone else!”
Panda: “Is that a challenge?~”
A: “Wha- No! Now give it here!”
P: “Nope! This is mine!~”
Well, it would’ve still been hers. But a magical aura around the weapon indicated the end of that. It floats over to Astel’s outstretched hands.
A: “That’s enough, young lady!”
P: “What the fuck?! Give it back!”
She wasn’t giving it back. Mom mode Astel is currently trying to tame the feral child - a hopeless endeavor, yet one she attempts anyone. She cares about her too-
Silver: “Oooh.~ Shiny!~”
And with that, the halberd was out of Astel’s hands, the thief literally sliding the stairs as if they were rails.
A: “Gah! Silver! Get back here!”
Yep… Just family things…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To take a break from the chaos, let’s transition to something every family can relate to - actual family time, of course! The fireplace adorned living room is perfect for this, a familiar, bright blue flame warming the room from the cold, snow-less night. Everyone was simply doing their own thing, relaxing after running out of things to do. Chaos already reigned for most of the day, so it’s time to let order take the wheel. And as expected… it’s rather nice.
Mikaeru: “I go’ ho’ choco!~”
Even better - hot chocolate! Who doesn’t love hot chocolate? The lich, who decided to stay in his child form after the whole memory dive event, was now coming out of the tray filled with mugs. Within each one was a swirling, chocolatey beverage that warmed one to their very spirit. Even Mikearu, who didn’t need to drink or eat, enjoyed the stuff!
He offers one to Kitty. She gently takes a mug from the tray to avoid spilling it. And then proceeds to start slurping it down.
He offers one to Astel. She accepts in a heartbeat. She really loves chocolate…
He offers one to Silver. She immediately stashes it in her backpack. What a strange little thing…
He offers one to Reaper. She accepts it rather quickly as well. Likely for the added warmth.
He offers one to Panda. She’s too busy listening to music through her headphones. That’s fine, though! He just places it next to her in case she wanted it later.
He places his own drink on the table, dashing into the kitchen to put away the tray. When he returns, he’s immediately seated on the couch, finally taking a moment to relax.
Everyone seemed to be enjoying the silence - odd for a “family” of chaotic idiots. It’s around this moment that Panda would try to cause mischief or Silver would… be Silver. But nope. Nothing of the sort here… It’s kind of terrifying how all these people, who were the direct opposite of order in their own ways, could just sit around and enjoy themselves in the quiet.
Subconsciously, he let himself lean on the closest person on the couch… Which turned out to be Kitty. She just shrugged and placed an arm around the child.
He had brought his hot chocolate closer, taking sips of it as the azure flames roared from the fireplace. This is what he had imagined when he thought of “spending time with friends” - it’s not much… but it’s something…
He didn’t even notice his eyes start to flutter close as he drifted off to sleep, a nearly finished mug of hot chocolate at rest on the table in front of him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And judging by all the screaming, we’ve fallen back into the chaotic routine.
Reaper: “Who the hell gave Silver the wheel?!”
A: “Silver, did! She stole the wheel!”
A child who embodies cartoon logic at its finest is probably the last person you want driving the car. Mikearu had been traveling side by side with the vehicle… Now he’s trying to get anyone he can out of the death-mobile’s way. He sends a message to Astel within the shared mind.
M: ”A-Astel! Can’t you stop her?!”
A: “I’m trying! She won’t give me the wheel! She won’t even let me get close, and I’m sitting in the damn driver’s seat!”
Eclipse: “You know… You could always try freezing her like an ice sculpture.~”
Ikearu: [“OR JUST LET ME TEAR HER APART.~”]
M and A: “NOT HELPING!!!”
A cacophony of screams (excluding Silver’s overly enthusiastic laugh) roared from the out of control vehicle as it barreled down the road. People scrambled to jump out of the way - the strugglers were pulled away by a black and blue blur.
S: “Oooh.~ Railroad tracks!”
R,A, and Kitty: “WAIT, WHAT?!”
Yep. They were heading for railroad tracks. Hey, at least there wasn-
*HOOOOOOONK*
There was a train heading down the tracks. Right towards them. And Silver, being the maniacal child she is, wasn’t stopping.
M: “Oh, for the love of-”
Doing the only thing he can think of, he chained the rear wheels of the car, keeping them from spinning. Unfortunately, this also caused them to completely snap of the car due to the amount of force they were exerting. The rear of the car suddenly dropped lower as it slowed down exponentially, coming to a stop just before the tracks. Just in time, too - the train had just passed by them the moment they stopped. Any moment later, and…
Everyone (except Silver, who was still laughing) breathed a sigh of relief as they evacuated the car. Mikearu stood behind the vehicle, massaging his neck. He looked like the embodiment of stress.
M: “You know… A’ leas’ one of you has powers… You could’ve done somethin’, too!”
A: “I was kinda busy trying to get Silver off the wheel!”
R, gesturing to the car: “And I didn’t want *that* to happen.”
K: “Hey, at least we’re all safe…”
Silver had just hopped out of the car at that time.
S: “Woohoo! Let’s go again!”
Everyone else: “NO!!!”
S: “Aww… You’re no fun!”
At least one of them was about to correct her and say they also weren’t crazy… But likely didn’t since that would’ve been a direct lie. Everyone here is crazy - that’s why they’re a “family” after all.
Using Mikearu’s chains, Reaper’s strings, and everyone’s effort (excluding Silver - she’s still mad), they started dragging the car back home… which was quite a ways away from where they were. On the topic of home, a thought crossed Reaper’s mind.
R: “...Was it a good idea to leave Panda by herself in the house?”
Everyone else: “...”
It was safe to say that they were coming back to a trashed living room… And weapons sticking out of the couch.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Speaking of Panda… She’s been acting kind of weird lately… You surely wouldn’t expect her of all people to hold her hands up to Astel and ask to be picked up.
P: “Up?”
The teenager turned mother picked her up upon the request, taking her over to the couch. Panda is rested on her lap as she’s held close.
A: “What’s wrong, hun?”
P: “Me. A-All I do is h-hurt you or Mikey or Reaper or even Kitty. I-I’m a b-bad person…”
A: “That’s not true, hun…”
P: “It is! I’m bad! Bad!”
Astel just held the self-loathing girl in her arms, trying to calm her down. It… was kind of bewildering to see her like this. She’s normally not the kind of person to be this upset over something. Either she shrugs it off or reacts with anger.
A: “...We don’t mind being hurt, y’know?”
P: “T-That doesn’t make sense!”
A: “What I mean is… We don’t mind being hurt if it means you’re okay…”
P: “But why?! W-Why do you care about me?!”
A: “Because we love you.~ We love you for who you are…”
P: “B-But… I’m nothing special… A-All I do is h-hurt-”
A familiar black and blue blur made its way to the couch. Panda suddenly found herself being hugged by a familiar lich child.
M: “You’re special to us! We like havin’ you around! And more importantly, we’re always here for you, Panda!”
P: “...”
The trio just kind of hugged it out, one of them kind of uncomfortable with the sudden affection. But she wasn’t about to ruin the moment… For once, she’ll stay quiet about this…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
E: “‘Stel!! How the hell do you make this shit?!”
A: “*snrk*”
Thanksgiving dinner was taking quite a while to make… Why was that? Because Eclipse had decided it was the perfect time to take over… Right when Astel was starting to make pie and cranberry sauce… Even more unfortunate is the fact that, for some reason, Astel decided to try making both at the same time.
E: “THE CRANBERRIES ARE BOILING OVER!!! ‘STEL, WHAT DO I DO?!”
A: “Literally all you have to do is lift the pot for two minutes, it’s fine.”
I: [“WHO KNEW THE DREADED NIGHTMARE QUEEN WAS A TERRIBLE COOK?~”]
M: “Pffft…”
E: “Quiet! The both of you!”
And of course the other minds are not help either. They’re enjoying the show!
Kitty would’ve helped… If she wasn’t laughing at the Nightmare Queen’s terrible cooking skills, too. Occasionally, a stretchy arm would give her the utensil she needed… But only once or twice.
E: “When the hell am I supposed to take out the pie?!”
A: “Not now, dumbass! I just put it in before you decided to take over!”
E: “Why you-”
M and I: “CAN YOU PLEASE JUST FOCUS ON THE DAMN FOOD?!”
Astel’s shadow trying to cook is proving to be harder to handle than the whole “kill everything” plan. Mainly because even said shadow has no idea what the heck she’s doing. Then again, Eclipse did this to herself when she decided to take over Astel’s body.
E: “What do I do now?!”
A: “Just wait! The food needs to cook!”
The door slamming open cuts them both off… As well as Kitty’s outburst.
K: “Shadow, wha- Did you kill those yourself?!”
Shadow: “Well… duh. How else were we gonna get a proper Thanksgiving dinner?”
K: “We could’ve just bought one!”
The void child just shrugged with two dead turkeys in either hand. Eclipse just stares at the child, coming to the slow realization that they’ll want a cooked turkey.
A: “Sure you don’t want me to cook?~”
E: “Well- Wait, hell no!”
I: [“YES, CAUSE YOU’VE BEEN DOING SO WELL BEFORE…”]
E: “NOT HELPING!!!”
Welp… Sucks to be you, Eclipse.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After much bickering, culinary incompetence, and screeching, Thanksgiving dinner was finished. It’s honestly a miracle the house didn’t burn down with how clueless Eclipse was.
The food was already at the table the moment it was prepared. You can thank Mikearu for that…
Everyone had taken their seats, ready to dig in to the massive meal - even those who didn’t need to eat or didn’t eat normal food were waiting patiently to prepare their plates. Their reasoning?
M: “I’ s’Thanksgivin’! Why wouldn’ I?”
R: “Agreed.”
Sh: “I killed it. That’s all…”
And nothing more was said. Yep, just the usual.
The only problem was convincing Eclipse to give Astel her body back. It took a lot of mental and physical bickering to finally get the Nightmare Queen to give in, with Ikearu not doing the lights any favors.
I: [“SHE COOKED THE FOOD. LETTING HER HAVE ASTEL’S BODY FOR A GOOD WHILE SHOULD BE REWARD PLENT, HM?~”]
M: “Just shut up, you irritating pest.”
I: [GRR… YOU!]
It was as exhausting as it sounds. Definitely made the actual meal itself worth all the trouble. Though all the grumbling in the shared mind indicated that Eclipse wasn’t too happy with the arrangement in any way, shape, or form.
What children…
Surprisingly, the food was delicious! Guess a lot of good fortune saved their skins… and their stomachs.
It was nice. And it was more than just warming silence during a cold night. Everyone was chatting, making jokes, getting on each other’s nerves, the usual. It was all one could ask for a Thanksgiving dinner.
M: “Mm… I’m grateful to have me’ you guys.”
A: “Aw… Same here!”
K: “Yep.”
R: “Happy Thanksgiving, guys!”
Sh: “Heh… Whatever…”
P: “Yep, sure…”
And Silver was stuffing food into her backpack… Again… At least she was eating it, even if she wasn’t actively engaging with anyone else.
For a bunch of idiots on the Road to Mayhem… They were actually having a good time together…
If you didn’t know any better… You could probably call them a real family…

Hi hope your days been good. I read your carrd and saw the Dimensional Drifters au and it sounds too cute. Do you have any more information about it you can share?
You actually caught me at a good time, I was planning on talking about this AU a bit more!
THE DIMENSIONAL DRIFTERS: The Ultimate Self-Ship AU
Tumblr media
So bare bones, the Dimensional Drifters is like
The ultimate escapist fantasy for me
As it says on Carrd, it involes every single one of my F/O’s joining together in one big travelling group, hopping through worlds to explore, help others or just to have fun! Every day we go and explore somewhere new, pretty much just hitting the RANDOM button on the roulette for whatever world is out there. This AU also leans heavily into the whole “infinite worlds” theory, so we quite literally have endless possibilities
It started out with just me at first, finding an enchanted pendant and gaining these abilities (like in the AHiT verse). The Spyro-verse was my first stop, and after helping out around there, Elora decided to tag along for the ride (Later on we came back to pick up Spyro, Lindar and Bubba). Over time we gradually picked up more and more people, adding more to our ranks as we explored. Not everyone we met wanted to come along, but traditionally those who did join either were craving something new in their lives (Elora and Grooves), were found at a big low point (Shu Chi, Likulau and Lin Hu) or just wanted to go on adventures for the fun of it (the AHiT kids, Spyro).
The worlds we travel to vary wildly. Some of them could be giant landscapes that are filled with pure nature, some could have bustling cities that have towers reaching to the literal heavens, some could even be dangerous and we help out whoever’s there. No matter where we go though, all of us go together like one gigantic band of misfits. As an added bonus, anyone who joins our group is given a small little patch of multicolor fabric that they can use to accessorize in different ways (Hat Kid turns it into a hat, Moomintroll wears it like a scarf, Empress ties it around her arm). The color of the fabric is akin to my sona’s robe, akin to the colors of a sunset.
The cream of the crop for this AU though is our home base: Campsite Starlight.
Tumblr media
Inside, I’ve always had a fondness for camping, laying out in nature and campfires and all that (although due to bugs that enjoyment is cut short). Plus with society as a whole making me want to just run away into the woods and live as a hermit, I put all my love for that sorta stuff into this! It sits in a place in between worlds, with the sky above this gigantic forest like a watercolor painting, constantly changing, each star being it’s own little universe
It’s a gigantic campsite for one, mainly centered in an open field surrounded by dense nature. If I had to give a rough estimate, I’d say the field is a giant circle about a quarter mile in diameter. There are storage areas for all of our supplies, a meal station along with a kitchen where we make our own food, a few crops where we grow our own food and foods we found across different dimensions, and even some different landmarks nearby like a cliff diving spot and a hot spring! (I have thought intensely about the layout of this place).
And in the center of it all is a gigantic tree, possibly going a mile high and is far too thick to even get a twig off. When I started off solo I started to create a treehouse for this gigantic thing, but over time I got others to help me and it took nearly half a year even with all of my F/O’s strength and mine combined! It’s set up with a little bit of all of our interests combined: slides and playspaces for the kids, condos for each person to have their own bed, a room made to keep all of the logs of our adventures, and at the very top a big balcony overlooking the entire forest! Of course, while there are condos for each person, we often set up camp on the ground to get that authentic camping experience.
This AU alone is something that I have thought IMMENSELY about, sinking probably close to an entire 24 hours into in daydream time. Just the idea of travelling with all my F/O’s, family and friends alike, is really comforting. Like a gigantic, strange family that loves to go on adventures. I’m not lying when I say there were times I wish I could actually be there. But even still, daydreaming about this AU and this gigantic band of misfits is always really fun to do.
(Thanks for asking btw, I’ve been planning on talking about this stuff for a while!)

⍑ᔑ⚍リℸ ̣ ᒷ↸.
Words: 1,396
Characters: My sona, and two of my friend’s sonas.
Summary, kind of: Starts out soft, turns into angst towards the end! Based in a world where my sona, along with more of my friend’s sonas, are possessed by someone or something. My sona, Em, is possessed by my friend’s sonas, Emma and Emmett.
Messy, pinkish-reddish hair got pulled into a long ponytail as the human lifted herself out of her cyan bed, olive green eyes with bags underneath them squinting as sun shone through the magenta stained glass peering up to the surface. The sun was bright, it always has been and will be. As long as Al doesn’t eat the sun, it will be brighter than everyone’s moods in the morning. Especially Em’s.
It was oddly quiet in the underground bunker, with the quiet shuffling of objects and the very light steps of ghastly feet on the concrete. Rubbing her eyes with the back of a scarred hand, she stepped out of the room to see a.. small build that Emma and Emmett had made in the large room. Narrowing her eyes, Em tilted her head. "The hell's that s'posed to be?" She asked in her quiet, raspy voice. Flinching slightly when one of her dogs ran up to her, she immediately scratched her head, leading to the dogs tail making a soft "swish" noise on the floor. She put her hand on her hip as the two couldn't figure out how to explain the build. Letting out a sigh, she rubbed the bridge of her nose.
"Well… we were bored, and we wanted to do something, and we didn't want to wake you up, so we made a little contraption.. thingy." Emmett explained and put it simply, causing Em to roll her eyes. ".. right. And uh.. what is this contraption supposed to do?" the redhead questioned, causing the two ghosts to look at eachother, then shrug. Sighing quietly, Em took out her pickaxe and quickly erased the contraption from the area, putting the stuff away in her storage system after. "Y'know, sometimes I hate you guys." she said, doing her best to hide that it was a joke, or, an over exaggeration, at least.
"Gah, no you don't.." Scoffed Emma, leading Em to chuckle quietly. "I-.. yeah, you're right," She paused, knitting her eyebrows.
‘I'm too soft to properly hate anyone.’ She thought to herself, wrapping her arms around herself unknowingly. "But, there's some times when I get frustrated, y'know." She finished, taking some golden carrots out of a nearby shulker and starting to gnaw on some. She glanced to her left, seeing both of her dogs sitting still, begging for food.
Both of them were friendly dogs of course, one significantly bigger than the other, yet they both has golden fur coats that were always well groomed. The biggest one, Luna, was a mutt that she had found in a flower forest a few weeks back. She nearly attacked her on first sight, but when she noticed that Em had a bone, she immediately fell in love.
The second one, Angel, looked as if she were a purebred pomeranian. I know those don't exist in minecraft, but please bare with me here. She's the fluffiest dog she's had by far, and it's clear. She found her while exploring once, and instantly fell in love.
Oh, how she would've hated to lose either of them in that explosion..
The redhead was snapped out of her train of thought when she heard the two shout her name. She jumped, backing into the cold quartz pillars in her base, but relaxed once she noticed it was just Emma and Emmett. "Y-..Yeah?" she responded softly, furrowing her eyebrows.
"Y'know, it's been a.. few days since you've gone outside. You've just been mining away in your mine, or.. something of the like." Em wrung her hands together with slight anxiousness; she already didn't like where this was going. "Y-Yeah.. and?"
"Well, maybe we should go on an adventure! Just us three! And, since nobody's on at this time in the morning, you have a good chance to not die!" Blunt, flat nails fidgeted with the small divots in the quartz pillars behind them, Em taking in a small, yet shaky breath. She closed her eyes, biting the inside of her cheek. It makes no sense to argue.
She took another small breath, glancing wearily at the two ghosts in front of her. "Alright, fine. BUT! If somebody ends up coming on, and I end up dying, I'm blaming you two," A heavy promise. A pause. "..sorry. I'm going to get my stuff, then we can head out." She muttered softly, before walking into her storage room and closing the spruce doors behind her.
Taking her faded red sweater off, Em tied it around her waist. Grabbing the individual pieces of armor out of her shulkerbox labeled Important Things.. 3!, she put each item on, ending with the golden boots, dubbed the "Walmart Flip Flops". Thanks, Vos.
She slung her trident holster over her shoulders and slid the prismarine weapon into it. Tucking a stray hair under the diamond helmet, she shuffled out of the room, after making sure she had everything. Putting her sword in the scabbard, she glanced at the two ghosts, grabbed some rockets from a shulker, and climbed out of the underground base, the other two seemingly disappearing into thin air, most likely to gain some energy after being corporeal for a while.
Well, they didn’t necessarily disappear into thin air; they were just technically in Em’s head now. Two voices which were significantly louder than the lone, soft, timid voice of the human’s own thoughts. After every commotion that caused in Emma and Emmett possessing her, the third voice had never quite had it’s time to shine. Of course, it had time to shine within her dreams; but those were more like dampening moments. Darkening ones, even. Every dream that she’s had since a few months ago have left an eerie mood in her head, leaving her own thoughts to be panicked, anxiety filled ones.
Red sneakers caked in mud, gravel, and many other things stepped onto the damp grass of the plains where her underground base was located. The sun was still rising, leaving an orangish-yellow hue across the world, making it seem like it was calm, peaceful even. She would be even more relaxed now, reassured that there was none of her.. friends who were awake at this hour. Letting out a quiet sigh, she muttered to herself (practically to Emma and Emmett). Asking the question of ‘which direction’, she got a response to go southwest. And she did.
Have you ever forgotten about something linked to a bad memory that you have? Something that makes you feel guilty whilst looking or being at that something, something that makes you feel like it was â̸͓͗͗̒͛̚̕l̵̨̗̥̪͑͛̐͗̈̈́͊̈́̌͛͌̕̕ļ̷̨̮̯̳̯̘̜̗͎͂͗̋͐̈́͌̈̓͌͛̔̀͝͝ͅ ̵͕̜̖̆̈́̔̎y̴̬̰͔̼̬̹̾̆̑̍́͂̓̌̌̊͂ơ̴̰̳͔͊́͂́̊͆͊͆͑̓͘ư̸̲̞̼͈̭̖͇̲̟̺̯̓̐͒́͜͝r̸͔̞̓͑͛́̈͑͠ ̷̨̬̙̺̗͉̼̹͙̯̪̣̮̆̃̀̇͊̄͒͑̈́̽͆̅f̸̜͓̻͑̈́a̵̱̥̻̩̼̩̖͈̫̯͝ȕ̸̪̰͖̬̮̣̫̬̹̫̩̀̉̊͐̆̐͘l̵̜̗͈̥̑͌͛͆̈́̓̐̎͛͘̚t̶̫̲͗?̷̨̻̬̮̓͗̕  Very rarely does that happen to Em, since she’s practically distanced herself from everyone else on the world out of fear. Fear that they’d kill her, fear that they’d look down on her for being a human. A mortal.
It took a while to get to the first landmark, but when she reached it, she froze. Her heart sank. Swallowing the sudden dry lump in her throat, she looked up at the cobblestone structure. Maroon eyebrows seemingly furrowing into one, she took a small step back. This was the war scene.
She took a few more steps back, taking a deep breath- an attempt to calm herself down. It’s okay. I’m fine. She muttered to herself, shakily straightening herself out and continuing to walk past the base. After only a few minutes of walking through the battlefield, she nearly fell through a badly patched crater in the ground. What.. was that fro-.. She started to question herself, eyes growing wide at the realization.
“That’s from me.” She spoke softly, stepping back from yet another object at the battlefield. Taking a rather deep, shaky breath, she dug those bitten nails into scarred palms. She shouldn’t be here. S he sh ou  ldn ‘t  b  e h  e re. Without noticing, she had tripped over yet another hole in the dirt. Breath accelerating, she quickly got herself off of the stone at the bottom of the crater and stood herself back up.
It’s not her fault.
It’s not her fault.
It’s not her fault.

She shouldn’t be back here, she can’t be back here, she won’t be here. Not baring to look at anymore of the mess that was the war battlefield, she took off sprinting back towards her base.
