and the something that happened is like a girl who got catered to her whole life had to meet the real world and it was a fucking rude awakening

but anyways she FINALLY comes back to goero in january of 2023 even though she'd been back in korea for a few months and tbh she came back bc like jeongbin's official funeral but also like tbh idk if you've been treated like shit for 8 years suddenly all the shit you went through growing up doesn't seem so bad and like it feels nice to be home

I’ve always been curious of your opinion on this and the rings ask gave me the opportunity to ask- how do you think Dean Jr came about? I def agree that Sam didn’t settle down and get married after so many years of saying he didn’t want that. So was Dean Jr a product of a one night stand? A long-term fling? Was Eileen his mom or some rando Sam met along his lost post-bunker wandering? I’d love your thoughts if you have them!

Despite my oh-so-bullish comment about canon being my bitch, I'm unfortunately a hardass about 'if canon gave you a truly interpretable event, you should try to go with the most realistic option for the characters but you can't just Declare that something is one way or the other, because you'll be wrong, and then you should feel dumb and bad.' I call this the Turn of the Screw problem (and hearken back to a wildly annoying college prof who insisted that everyone had to have an opinion about ghosts vs madness, and I was like, no! It's interpretable! Let it stay ambiguous!) So, with that in mind --

I think I've hinted at it in the few heaven/postcanon fics I've written, but I tend to circle around Dean Jr's mother being someone that Sam had a *brief* relationship with. Definitely, hilariously, absolutely not Eileen, lol. The styling on blurwoman was nothing at all like Eileen and their relationship was dying from the moment Chuck interfered -- that's one where I can take a hardline on canon bc like. No. I like the idea of DJ's mom being a widower herself, and Sam and her ended up talking and then ended up sleeping together, and it's not exactly a *one night stand* but it wasn't something Sam was really planning on making a big part of his life, but then she got pregnant, and... And maybe they did get married, idk -- maybe that's the sort of thing Sam felt like he had to do -- but I really don't think they stayed together, whether there was a legal contract involved or not. Sam's just -- too ultimately focused on Dean, there at the end. That shrine to his memory never changes. There's no room in that space for another woman, or at least not a woman who had any level of self-respect, and I'd like to think that a woman Sam would sleep with enough to knock her up would be one who wouldn't let herself be subsumed under the memory of a better spouse.

The Unlisted The Unlisted is a show about this group implanting kids in an attempt to control them, and it's mainly about the kids who didn't get the implants or the "unlisted". Super good, 8.5/10. (Kal x Jacob forever if you know you know... like yeah they're not canon but they def like each other so it doesn't really matter lmao)

Raising Dion I'll admit that I haven't finished the new season, but it's so good!!!! Basically, it's about this group of people who got powers from some supernatural event--specifically the child of one of them, who is sort of a legacy/2nd gen of powered people--and how something is hunting them down. 9/10

Young Royals Young Royals is a romance (I guess?) show about Wilhem, the prince of Sweden, going to a boarding school and how he sort of develops a romance with one of the other boys there :) super good and I can't wait for the 2nd season!!! 10/10

Get Even Show about 4 girls who secretly out bullies and bad teachers under the alias DGM, then get caught up in a murder investigation. 10/10.

Yours, Mine, & Ours Kind of dorky, but I enjoyed it. It's about how two parents--with 10 and 8 kids respectively--are getting married, and their kids are desperately trying to stop it. 8/10

The Willoughbys I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS MOVIE. Four kids who live with neglectful parents in an old home, cut off from the world. One of them, the oldest, is still holding onto the hope of honoring the legacy of his family. They get a nanny, and... well, you'll see. 11/10.

Airplane Mode Also kind of dorky, but I loved it. After their daughter gets in yet another accident from texting and driving, parents confiscate her phone and send her to the country with her grandfather. 10/10.

Alex Strangelove Alex Truelove's (yes, that's his real name) plan to lose his virginity to his girlfriend, Claire, doesn't exactly go to plan when he can't stop thinking about the guy he met at a party a few weeks before. Loved it! Some details here and there, but I think it's great either way. 9.5/10.

Memories of a Teenager After one of his friends commits suicide, teenager Zabo begins to blog about his life online. Basically, it's a movie about depression, friendship, and trying to find yourself--throughout the movie the main character, Zabo, is trying to figure out his identity and goes out with/likes/dates multiple men and women. Great rep, really enjoyed it. 9/10.

The Boys in the Band OMGOMGOMG okay. 1968 New York, seven gay friends, a birthday party. When a surprise guest shows up at the party, it leads to a drunken game that--whether they likes it or not--makes everybody think. I adore this movie, I can't even- 11/10 LARRY IS STILL HOT I CAN'T-

The Half of It When a jock asks her to help him write love letters and messages to his crush, Ellie is surprised when she finds herself falling for this girl too. But I'm A Cheerleader (free on youtube) Lesbian romance blossoming in a conversion camp? Sign me up. After her friends and family gather to tell her that they think she's a lesbian, Megan is sent off to True Directions, a conversion therapy program... where she goes from not believing she's a lesbian to... growing closer with another participant, Graham. 10/10.

The Brokenwood Mysteries (acorn TV) A murder mystery show set in the fictional town of Brokenwood, New Zealand. Awesome cast of main & side characters, and good representation with different races, ethnicities, genders, and sexual orientations. 10/10. #arlofanclub

Middle School: The Worst Years of my Life This movie follows Rafe as he moves schools and decides to break every one of the 100s of rules made by his overbearing principal, along with his sidekick Leo. Amazing movie, and amazing way of developing the characters & Rafe's dealing with everything throughout the movie (if you've watched/read, you know what I'm talking about)! 12/10.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off (netflix, amazon) I put this one here since I'm not positive if it is still on Netflix or how long it will stay, but here we go. Ferris Bueller doesn't want to go to school on a great day like this (pretend it's sunny and nice outside), so he rounds up his girlfriend and his best friend and they skip out on school to have fun. My summary doesn't do it any justice. This movie is also one of my favs. 12/10.

Handsome Devil (peacock) When a loner and a star rugby player become roommates at a rugby-obsessed boarding school, the (truly repulsive) rugby coach tries to get to the bottom of why his newest player transferred in the first place. 12/10.

started writing an impromptu star wars au for jjk that is very messy and i have only Just thought about this today so allow me to dump some thoughts (feel free to send ideas if you’d like, i’ll probably add more later)

okay so first of all as someone who enjoys star wars but also can’t stand nor comprehend some of the canonical events, i am saying Fuck That in this au but in a fun way (this is the influence of star wars: visions) so some of the basic concepts of sw are here but i’m shaping them to My personal needs. moving on!

sorcerers in this au are either jedi (like team gojo, nanami, etc) or sith (geto and his hoes)

all of the zenin’s are force users and have a similar mindset in this au that if you can’t wield the force, they don’t claim you

non-force users (maki, toji, civilians) align themselves with the empire, the rebellion, or neutrality

in this case maki sides with the rebellion and trains with the jedi despite not wielding the force (she gets a lightsaber bcus she deserves one <3)

toji and the rest of the zenins are neutral; the zenins don’t care to involve themselves in the war but think non force users are defenseless (hence why they kick maki and toji out), and toji works jobs on either side for money

since megumi is a force user, toji still tries to sell him off to the zenins in this au (he’s still broke, what can he do :/) but he fights gojo before working a Very Important deal (tbd) and tells gojo abt megumi

so gojo takes megumi in and trains him as his padawan!! it all works out great!!!

i’m removing the concept that masters can only train one student at a time so team gojo stays together; nobara and yuuji both enter the jedi academy and train under him

geto was previously a jedi but sauntered over to the dark side bcus he (like the zenins) doesn’t care for non force users, except he wants them Dead (the zenins don’t meddle with the fate of non force users so killing isn’t an option for them)

choso and mahito are both sith as well but choso turns to the jedi after he realizes yuuji is his brother

my idea for choso and yuuji is they were separated as children because choso was abducted by geto since he was strong in the force

junpei still dies in this au (i’m so sorry honey) but he plays a slightly bigger role and works with the rebellion (along with his mom)

he visits yuuji a lot because the rebellion is tasked with supply runs and he often delivers to the jedi academy and becomes friends with yuuji there <3

junpei probably clears some of the doubt in yuuji’s head about the war bcus he didn’t really get a choice in all of this but he realizes it’s for a good cause and. after mahito kills junpei he’s more eager to train and protect his people

to make things more Interesting, i think the jedi council in this au was actually pretty hesitant to aid the rebellion but they ultimately realized that the empire was a threat they couldn’t handle with their forces alone so. their motives are questionable

this is probably part of the reason geto turns to the dark side; he doesn’t like that the council isn’t as willing to take action

but you know what the council IS willing to do? send a bunch of rebel soldiers to their deaths

i feel like they would only send a few higher level jedi on missions but generally they just tell the rebels “nah you guys can handle this” and only barely allow them to scrape by

gojo doesn’t get pulled away for missions quite as often in this au, but it’s enough that he realizes what the council is up to and he definitely has to convince them to employ more support for the rebel squads

i can’t think of anything else plot related so here are some ideas about lightsaber colors based on fanon meanings <3

gojo has a green saber, which means he relies more on the force than his swordsmanship; i think he’s still good with a lightsaber but certainly isn’t as reliant on it

yuuji, on the other hand, has blue, which means he relies on his saber/brute strength more than the force. between him and choso, he’s definitely not as strong in the force, but he has really great swordsmanship

megumi has a yellow saber because it represents his dedication and the fact that he’s a bit more willing to break the rules if it’s for a good reason; he still follows the guidance of his master, but he also likes to do his own thing

nobara also has a green because, like gojo, i think she’s stronger in the force (def the strongest of team gojo) so she’s more comfortable with those abilities than her skills with a saber. she’s a quick learner though so she improves a lot, but still has a tendency to rely on the force

choso’s saber is obviously red when he’s a sith, but it changes to yellow once he’s a jedi; like megumi, he’s more willing to follow his own path to good, but he’s much more comfortable with breaking the rules than megumi. he hasn’t formally trained under a jedi master, so he doesn’t feel so bad about ignoring them, especially if it means protecting his yuuji and his friends

maki has an orange saber since it represents ingenuity; since she’s not a jedi, all she can rely on is her combat skills and quick thinking. she’s definitely one of the best with a saber, so she helps nobara train when she realizes that she’s lacking.

*read part 2  of DID theory-first! You’ll be lost otherwise, seriously XD. First, I’ll say -I find the ST comics/ books as canon as the st movie inspirations . I don’t consider the books/comics ‘literal canon’ (cause they contradict the show ( like Max and billy meeting a year before s2  in runaway max - but meeting as little kids in s3,  or El’s age being wrong in suspicious minds, in the d&D comic Will’s friends instead of him /Jonathan building castle byers, etc) . 

So I think we shouldn’t take it  literally - but more like the st movie lists - filled with foreshadowing/symbolism and other eastereggs (That the Duffers may have told them to add). So here’s some more (possible) alter / DID hints...

‘Suspicious minds’ novel

- Brenner  equates k*lling rabbits to h*rting kids. And he’ll hurt (kid) Kali (the bunny in the analogy) if Terry tries running away from him . I wonder if Lonnie used a similar threat against jonathan? Jon could be giving only a partial truth to why he cried for a week (about the bunny story)?

-Kali “hops” like a bunny then talks about tigers obsessively (linking her to rabbits/tigers similar to the other alters/Will/Lonnie). Terry also imagines tigers and kali says to Alice they can all be tigers together.

- one of the only male psychic experiments (who can see the future) is gay

- Terry is into lord of the rings, like Will. Has her and her boyfriend dress as sam & frodo (m/m ship). Terry calls her and her friends “the fellowship”.

-when Terry/Alice were injected with d**gs -they hallucinated rainbows.yikes.

- Alice (like Lonnie) is a car mechanic. She can see the future like Will the wise and says “monsters of course my mind has them as long as they stayed in there, everything would be alright? Wouldn’t it?” (in her visions she saw the demogorgan).

 (completed) graphic ST novels (by Jody Hozer) so far  (+ other st comics).

*Jody Hozer writes all the graphic novels (every novel is 4 chapters each) - the will byers comic, number 6 comic , into the fire comic, and at the moment she’s writing the d&d series and the summer camp series (which isn’t done yet). Then there’s the occasional 1 chapter st comics not written by her.

- Number 6 has (the ability to foresee the future like Will the wise/Alice) and has an ab*sive dad. 

When having a nightmare of the demogorgan ...she says as she wakes up “screw you dad” (another hint the demogrgan -aka in d&d means ‘deep father’ ...is Lonnie).

- when number 6 and others run they say they’re’ “rabbiting”(which yes technically makes sense but I found such an uncommon phrase odd.)

- The (summer camp and d&d graphic novels aren’t completed yet) but they establish d&d creatures are based off  real life people the boys don’t like in real life. Or that d&d is used as an outlet to explain true events from their pasts -but they just give the true stories a d&d fantasy slant.

- Which brings me to the halloween oneshot(not by Hozer),taking place before s1. Will tells a scary story told to him by Jonathan, and originally told to him by Lonnie. Says the boys have to keep it a secret cause it was something he was never supposed to tell to anyone. Mike says he has to finish the story he started. It’s about a “ch*lld-eater” monster first attacking a boy near the quarry (like where Will was found) and  attacking kids in a library (where Will was also found in s1).When the child sees the sheriff she bangs on the library door begging for help-he ignores her , walks away, and tells the other cops to never speak of what they saw as she screams for help. Because the previous sheriff was in kahoots with the monster. It def had some ... uh questionable imagery too 0_0

The vine in the mouth is also like the one in Will’s mouth (when Joyce found him in the library).And of course Dustin asks whether or not something like that could be covered up.

- In the “bully  comic” (about troy) also not by Jody. We focus on Troy and his ab*sive dad (who encourages him to fight/ditch his best friend). The dad has a drinking problem (gets fired), calls Troy a “mess” , pushes him, and constantly encourages Troy to be vi*lent/macho. He pretty much tries sabotaging the relationship Troy has with his friend (which I could see Lonnie doing in the future with byler).The dad/troy is framed similarly to when Billy gives Max a ride home-  after both ab*sers give bad advice saying not to hang out with their friend (after witnessing them fight in the school parking lot). Dad also laughs about almost k*lling a squirrel (a trait we see troy mimic)- and we see El feel guilty about k*lling a squirrel in s2. At the end of the comic- Troy (like Will) after making up with his bff james- moves leaving his best friend behind.

-  (into the fire) Twins: (one was normal with no powers living in the real world and the twin with fire powers is trapped in a dark sunless “cold” world styled like a psych facility/medieval fantasy) . pics in link.She hated her reflection cause it reminded her of being betrayed by her normal non powered twin who left her behind in the ‘cold’ place. She’d call herself a ‘hunter’ who would defend herself and attack others to never be hurt again. Her powers being unleashed were described like opening “a door.” And she loves her twin deep down and just wants friends . And fire twin goes to the “other side” to reunite with her reflection and find happiness in the real world. *also there’s sunflower/bunny symbols which she lights on fire-which can relate back to Will/Terry/Lonnie etc. The twins = Will & Will the wise (mf)

*I think this foreshadows the later plot points of mf (will the wise ) and Will interacting via mirrors. The fire-wielding twin and the non powered twin had a lot of mirror imagery. Including the fire powered twin (Who denies reality/and imagines herself in a fantasy world) punching her reflection because it reminds her of her non-powered twin. Here’s some cover art from the novels showing how much they emphasize mirrors.

*And in s4 movies Black swan - “the black and white swan twins (two halves of the same person-Nina)” had creepy mirror imagery. In long kiss goodnight the women with DID talks to her “ (supposed)dark 1/2″  via a mirror (in a dream).  in ‘the visit’ the teen girl who’s dad abandoned her when young-  refuses to look in the mirror (and it’s never explained why she hates her reflection). So yes I think we’ll see this in s4 or 5. We already see the mf take on the appearance of Billy when talking to him.

- Will in “zombie boy” comic is afraid he’s a monster.

also lets appreciate the lil byler moment of Mike and Will being the only zombies and mike comforting him. honestly , though, the characters were pretty out of character for most of this 1 ch comic (until the end) tbh.

- in the “d&d comic” mf is  (possibly) described as a “protector” (aka like how i said the mf is probably a perpetrator alter- which are misguided protectors).

*update now that it’s finished... hinting Will created everything subconsciously.

‘Runaway Max’ novel (before s3)

(I didn’t get time to read this book unlike ‘suspicious minds’ -so can’t show screen shots of everything others talked about. May read it eventually)

-Max compares Billy  to ‘her monster’ and a ‘shadow’ that will attack anyone that comes close (mf parallel).

- Dart k*lled a cat,  El’s papa tried to force her to k*ll a cat. And Billy when seeing a d*ad cat lights it on fire for a “viking funeral”. A connection to WW (who has fire powers) and El & dart.

-Max and Billy both are into cars and bond over fixing them (similar to Lonnie’s interest in fixing up cars). And since Lonnie tried to brag to Jonathan about fixing a car up and Will is into tech it wouldn’t be a stretch that Lonnie and Will were into fixing cars together (like Max/billy who would hang out at a autoshop in Cali) .  Similar to Will ,max says hanging with Billy wasn’t always so bad- which made things more confusing to her.

- Max compares Billy being beat up by Neil: to ‘punching a pocket of a baseball glove’. This is interesting since this book was pre-s3 which was when they established the connection of billy and his dad to baseball (similar to s1 saying  Lonnie taught Will baseball).

-Billy’s friend is a nice ‘music snob’ . He tries distracting Max with music while Billy is burning the cat. Which reminds me of Jonathan trying to distract Will from their parents fighting in the next room-with music

- Max’s bio dad is a criminal who takes her to shady bars, and Max fears he’d ‘get bored of her’. Max also ran away from her mom to her dad’s 2x.Which reminds me of Jonathan thinking Will ran to Lonnie’s in s1.

-Max mentions how Billy misses his friends after moving out of Cali. And he starts acting even worse-after the move. Which will probably be the case for Will (at least a bit) when moving to California.

-Billy tells Max Neil isn’t his ‘real dad’ either because Neil can’t be a father to anyone.

-Billy also tells Max who (at the time ) is 12 years old not to act “easy” and breaks her best friend’s (Nate’s) arm over  someone joking he was Max’s boyfriend and also cause Nate tried to get in between Billy bullying Max. Eventually all her Cali friends ditch her cause they’re afraid of Billy.And Ugh- why could I see Lonnie doing something like this in the future with Will/his new friends. 

- Creepily Max says Billy doesn’t fool around with her like other girls not because of her age or being family. But cause she wasn’t ‘attractive’. This whole excerpt gave me the heeby jeebies,on so many levels, honestly.  Almost like he’s jealous- and controlling her cause he doesn’t want Max to have any love interests. Maybe i’m just missing the context? But ugh... excerpt:

Will byers secret Files

-Hopper gets scared by a pumpkin-scarecrow. And in Will’s canon journal when talking about the mindflayer and his nightmares draws the same scare-crow , Hopper saw. There’s also a lot of s4-5 foreshadowing in the book... but that’s a post for another day.

 I think it’s more foreshadowing for future seasons though- cult/supposed ritual k*llings, people being wrongly blamed for those crimes-like the hellfire club , most likely.  (similar to the guy number 3 in the number 6 comic)  saint john in the novel also has the same brain control powers as 3- similar to the mf. .” When a blackout plunges the boroughs into chaos, Hopper must escape the the mobs in the streets to make sure his family is safe and stop Saint John from fulfilling his prophecy.” I already talked about here- how the next few seasons would start having more religious symbolism/a future apocalypse (based on what we’ve seen in the show/s4 movies). Although, i think there’s quite a few differences between (the novel’s) saint john and Will the wise. Hopper is also a star wars nerd like the boys (alter hint)

ASDFSDFGHG that’s soooo sweet, thank you so much for saying this, it really means the world to me <3 Oh, haha I’ve deleted most of my old videos so it wouldn’t hurt anyone’s eyes lmao T_T I’m still a bit nervous each time I’m uploading my vids to the day to be honest, even with so many subs rn, but at first I really didn’t have any supporters at all and my god I sucked at this, but I guess the love for my fav ships was stronger apparently haha. So I always get silly happy at each nice comment and feedback, so thank you seriously. 

I really love love love vidding, Idk why but when smth comes out the way I wanted it’s a super addictive feeling for some reason, but many times I just looked at the final result and just threw it in the trash and started over and my god how many times SonyVegas crushed and didn’t autosave the project. Elliot + The Bracebridge Dinner

Okay so I had to go back and rewatch it and this is what I have so far:

The Bracebridge Dinner episode happens right after Brad ( who was one of the few friends El made at Chilton transfers schools. It’s also right after Tristan who (thanks to @randomestfandoms-ocs giving me too many feelings about  him lol) is actually the other friend El managed to somehow make at Chilton ( don’t ask how I don’t think either boy could explain it either it just happened lol) gets sent to Military School so El is overall just kinda not great? So the episode is a lot of Lorelai and Rory and Luke and  Andrew and the whole stars hollow family trying to cheer him up and being nice to him.

Lorelai has him help with research for the dinner ( he loves maths and sciences and Rory loves reading and writing but they both love history it’s like their meeting ground in re to interests) and it’s just really adorable him infodumping and stealing treats from Sookie’s kitchen ( though it’s not really stealing because Sookie made them for him in advance) and just v soft.

He’s pretty excited about the idea of a Stars Hollow Sleepover and actually asks Lorelai if he can invite Brad because unlike Tristan he’s still driving distance even if he’s in a different school and Lorelai of course says yes and he’s really happy and it’s v soft. 

This entire episode is just v soft tbh.

Dinner with the grandparents is a tense affair and it ( as it usually does) put him on edge specially with Richard storming out so Lore and Rory do most of the talking though he does notice Emily didn’t say anything passive aggressive and it makes him feel a bit bad she’s upset about Richard.

He’s taken by surprise about Christopher’s invite and lowkey is sorta relieved when the topic changes because nothing brings him down faster than talking or thinking about Christopher and then feeling like he should be happy and content like his sister. So anyways Rory brings up inviting the grandparents and El is very much in agreement with Lorelai that ‘Do they have to invite them?’ because he was actually looking forward to being around people he’s at ease with and when Rory says it would cheer them up and Lorelai responds “ I'll send him a Def Jam Comedy tape. That'll cheer him up.” his own contribution is “or we can send them to Belgium. It’s known for having 30 different types of waffles And is among the richest countries in the world by net financial assets per capita. Also it’s an ocean away from us.” and it’s very just the Gilmore kids and their mom being cute ( and him being a wunderkid dork) with Rory shaking her head admonishingly even as she’s smiling and then winning them over about it. 

For the actual event he’s with Rory helping check people in and is there when Dean complains about Jess/hears about the fight  ( I think he’s friendly  with Dean at this point but he also doesn’t really have anything bad about Jess and is mostly happy he’s out of SHH for once ) but before he can think most of it Brad gets there and El’s like super happy to see hi m and they’re just very cute brotp about it. El can’t believe how much happier Brad looks already and feels a bit bad for wishing he hadn’t transferred out but is mostly just happy and the two pretty much spend the event hanging out and catching up and it’s..v soft. 

I think he rides with Brad after Jess jumps on Rory’s sleigh and the two talk and again it’s v wholesome. And then during the dinner Brad infodumps about the costumes and the performance part of the dinner and Elliot infodumps about history and talks about the people from town and its just v cute. 

Neither is ready for Paris to be there and they do activate one of their “Paris avoidance plans” from Chilton but Paris is actually nice/leaves them alone ( which does not go unnoticed by El) and it ends up them just laughing as they try to hide and come up with ridiculous plans while using avoiding paris as an excuse to do so and listen i need these two anxiety boys to be kids and run around like dorks and I’m very soft about this don’t look at me.

He’s as shocked as Lore and Rory are about Richard’s sudden nice mood but honestly its just nice. Like Elliot sees his grandparents mesh with his Stars Hollow family in a way he never thought he’d see them and his mom-god his mom is so happy, smiling at her dad’s stories and actually looks happy and at ease around her parents for once and his grandparents are being so nice and his friends ( Lane, Brad) are here and it’s just...really nice. 

He’s also as shocked as his mom and sister when Richard drops the bomb that he quit and actually tenses up and meets Rory’s eyes across the table and then they both look at their mom and it’s not until the topic changes and both Rory and Lorelai relax and Brad sorta checks in with him that he sorta...breathes and the night goes on.

He rooms with Brad and again it’s them being squishy dorks together and talking. It isn’t until breakfast that he learns from Rory about his grandma crashing in hers and their mom’s room and also their mom apparently didn’t want to tell them about Sherry inviting them but is okay with it now ( he doesn’t say anything but you can tell he’s sorta....not thrilled about the idea) 

He says bye to Brad and his grandparents and rides back on the horse drawn sleigh with Rory and Lorelai ( actually in between them) and is in a much better place and just sorta smiling softly as they go back to the house.

Basically it’s a very soft episode and  sort a breather for El who very much needs it and it’s just...really cute and wholesome.

octavio was diagnosed with adhd as a kid and y'kno, rejection sensitive dysphoria is one of the things that comes with it so when he started noticing his emotions being Really disregulated and his reactions being different from other people's he just kinda blamed it on that. he didn't get a bpd diagnosis until he was 21 when he went to rehab and that was the first time he had ever even heard of the disorder

he did start to go to dialectical behavioural therapy at 24 after he joined the games though because ajay urged him to

he's definitely impulsive type and self-destructive type. has zero impulse control and gets bored really easily do he just Does things to pass the time, anything that pops into his head. with the self-destructive type, he also has no self preservation at all. his stunts are absolutely a result of his bpd. he needs the attention and thrives off the adrenaline but he honestly doesn't care how injured he gets which worries a lot of people, especially ajay

chronic boredom is HELL for him and probably his biggest symptom overall. he cannot handle it at all and he needs to keep himself entertained. he'd set himself on fire and record it just to give himself something to do tbh

substance abuse is common to come along with bpd and yep. stim is kinda addictive. he's used other drugs before and he's gone to rehab for it but he hasn't gotten much better esp since using stim on live tv is now his fulltime job

he is so stubborn and he sees things in such black and white, the voicelines where he calls enemies the "bad guys" comes to mind. everything is either good or bad no in betweens and trying to change his mind is sometimes near impossible. he's the good guy and everyone else in his way is bad

he's got a bit of a god complex but ykno surviving impossible stunts and being insanely rich does that to you.

ajay has been his favourite person pretty much his whole life as she has also been his only real friend growing up. veryyy clingy to her but can go weeks just ignoring her and being distant for no reason other than to avoid feeling as hurt when she finally abandons him which she never really does becus she's scared of how he would react

him getting blocked by her hurt a LOT and he had a whole breakdown over it. he hated himself more than anything n defs did something stupid to try to take his mind off of it but she forgave him in the end and he completely forgot abt being upset becus zero emotional permanence

speaking of emotional permanence unless you actively talk to him and reassure him you don't hate him he Will think you hate him

sooo sensitive you could make the smallest joke at his expense and he will run off and get himself hurt. think of that quest dialouge where ajay made fun of his pants and he almost got himself eaten by prowlers

with that sensitivity come intense mood swings. anger and sadness are probably the worst for him but he usually turns it inwards rather than express it outwards

i genuinely hc that the gauntlet stunt was a suicide attempt i just can't shake that thought out of my head like he is definitely suicidal

he cries a lot but not in front of people. he got made fun of it as a kid so he tries his best to hide it. good thing abt the mask is that when he gets teary eyed people can't see it

the only time that he is quiet is when he's dissociating the fuck out. ajay's caught onto it by now and she sometimes tries to help out. usually he gets triggered by overstimulation like the room being too bright or if something reminds him of a traumatic event or his father

this is canon actually and probably mostly due to the adhd but this comes along with bpd sometimes as well; he stims All The Time. tapping his feet was a big one but now that he doesnt actually feel them anymore he's started doing other things like shaking, rocking or swaying in place, flapping his hands and snapping his fingers, etc.

he gets fixtated on things a lot like his favourite animals or music or cars and motorcycles but he can just as easily drop it all and start hating it for no reason because random splits just Happen sometimes. he has a Bunch of useless facts about things like sharks and bunnies from when he was a kid and if you need anyone to help u with ur car or motorbike he's ur guy

he's actually good friends with wraith because they relate to each other a lot mental health wise since wraith has ptsd and psychosis and those all share some similarities. sometimes they stay up together talking after a stressful day becus they just Get each other.

ok so assuming somehow circumstances permitted, consider a scenario where the awakening trio finally opens up about their past. how do you think the royals react? does it change the dynamics between them @ all? i feel like it would @ least make the trio feel closer to them, like more comfortable going to them if they wanted to talk about any past-related issues (trauma, nightmares, etc.) Also i cant help thinking of odin just dramatically being like "well the enemy was approaching so I (1/2)

Anon, u and i are always on the same wavelength, so I’m warning u to buckle up now, because this is gonna be a long one.

I’m going to preface this by saying I don’t know how Owain and Inigo could have had that bridge experience if the Trio in FE14 is supposed to be the same as the kids you recruit in the main FE13 storyline. The bridge experience is specifically used for the FE13 DLC in an alternate reality where those kids never go back in time (i.e. those are a different timeline’s children). The Owain and Inigo we know in the main FE13 never had that experience, as if you do deploy them in that DLC, they will comment that this did happen in their world but things were never that bad and they never had to cut the bridge. The Trio in FE14 is pretty heavily implied to be from the main storyline.

And yet???? Odin still is afraid of bridges because of that event???? I think I asked that once and somebody said it could just be the trauma of watching his alternate self nearly die that’s affecting him because he realized how badly things could have gone. And that’s possible and probably the truth. But I don’t know for sure and I never will and I think about this a lot. (Selena and Laslow reference Harvest Scramble and Hot Spring DLC, so they’ve gotta be the main timeline kids who fought with Chrom)

For the sake of this answer, I’m going to pretend the Trio in FE14 is the same as FE13 but they did have that bridge experience first-hand. It’s not canon, I think, but it just makes everything easier to think about (for me).

Moving on, I think the only time the Trio would admit they were from another world would be after Anankos was defeated because it wouldn’t have to be so secret anymore (even though it’s also like?? technically illegal from an inter-dimensional standpoint, lmao). Straight up, after Anankos is defeated, I think the exhaustion and happiness would get to them, and I just think it’d be really funny for Selena, who was the strictest about keeping their status a secret, to be the one to let the truth slip. 

(I’m probably??? Gonna end up putting a lot of tiny snippets of things in here to expand on them more and here’s a super short, rushed one now:)

The dust settled. Corrin stood at the far end of the hall, chest heaving. The minion Selena had been battling had disappeared right as she swung. Now the rest of the army was picking themselves off the ground. 

Selena pressed the tip of her sword into the cracked floor and leaned on it. Gods, she was tired. But Anankos was gone. She could feel it in the air. She knew what defeating a dragon was like. The crackle, the energy, the shadow hanging on all their shoulders— it was gone. Anankos was gone. 

“Hell yeah,” she muttered to herself. There was dirt in her mouth, ew. “Killed another dragon. Did you see that, mom?”

There was no response from her mother, of course. She was dead and gone, and even when she wasn’t, she was still worlds away. 

Selena did get a response from someone else though. 

Something shift to her left. The sound of an ax hitting the ground. Selena turned. 

“What,” Camilla said flatly. 

And then Selena tries to cover up her tracks and only makes it worse and in the end, it doesn’t matter anymore, so the truth comes out. Laslow and Odin never let her live it down. 

I feel like the Nohrian royals (besides Elise) always kinda knew? On some level? That the Trio was Different. Because they’re not exactly subtle. (Not that their minds jumped to “inter-dimensional travel”, of course.)

Odin says stuff like “sometime in the past… or, strictly speaking, some time in the future…” and “Risen… uh, animals from my home.” Laslow, to Xander’s face, says, “Good luck finding me with a fake name and appearance.” He says that!!! I In their Supports!! To Xander’s Face!!!

(Xander: “wHAT”)

Like??? They’re not… good… about lying. They’re not absolutely terrible? But their cover-ups mostly seem to be changing the subject or going, “Uh, please ignore that.” These idiots. I love them. 

Selena is probably the best about it? In her Support with Corrin, when asked if she’s from Hoshido, she says, “When did I say I was from Hoshido […] I never said I was from Nohr either” (or at least something like that.) She’ll admit she’s not from either kingdom but she doesn’t say anything other than that. So she’s dropped the least amount of hints, probably. (There are probably more examples for all three of them but I can’t think of Supports besides the Nohrian’s rn.)

But they arrived together and fight together and they talk like they’ve known each other for years sometimes, and if Laslow and Odin have something going on, she absolutely does as well, so. Come on. 

The thing is the Nohrian Royals have to Suspect. They have to know the Trio is super hiding their past. They’re together all the time, and while Camilla/Leo/Xander may sometimes talk about their past, it has to get obvious over the years that the Trio doesn’t. At all. Niles actively tries to find shit out and can’t find anything, for goodness sake. 

But the Royals are pretty respectful about it? They don’t hound the Trio about their past and seem to love and trust them as they are anyway? But that is something they have to ignore, and when the Trio says something that blatantly can’t be ignored like “Risen” or “I have a fake name and face” they have to ask. Both out of curiosity and obligation because they are technically the lawmakers of the land and they can’t ignore everything. Just be semi-decent at pretending and Leo/Xander/Camilla will too.

Reactions/Changing Dynamics

Even if Selena spills the beans immediately after Anankos’ death, I don’t think they sit down and say everything right then and there. Everyone is tired. Things need to be done. I guarantee after Laslow and Odin hear Selena accidentally said some of the truth, they look at each other and go, “Yeah, I guess it’s fine now” and then they don’t say anything more until they get back into the Deeprealm that night. 

(Camilla+Leo+Xander is gonna get called the Royal Trio now because their names are too long.) The Royal Trio still trusts the Awakening Trio, obviously, but they have questions. And Anankos is defeated. Does that mean the war is over? Technically yes, technically no. Nothing is official yet. Lots of explaining to do. But the Awakening Trio has now obviously let loose this secret they were trying to keep secret and the danger is technically over and they always talked about leaving after the war is over, so—

So technically the Royals get a bit nervous. They hang around the A. Trio or request them to stay in their line of sight all afternoon, even when there’s other stuff to be doing, even when it’s easier to split up and clean up and take stock of things, and eventually the A. Trio does call them out on it (individually). They do their chores and after-battle prep and take care of the injured and the Royals listen to messengers and make plans on what to do now, what kind of treaties to make, and then when the evening comes, the A. Trio comes back just like they promised they would, looking antsy and tired and a little nervous and they all sit down in Corrin’s private quarters bc this is Top Secret stuff and Corrin has to listen anyway and then the A. Trio talks. 

They don’t go too in-depth about Grima. Not yet. 

But they talk about the Hidden Truths DLC and how human Anankos asked for their help. They talk about why they were disguised and why they couldn’t say anything about it and how they nearly went to Hoshido, only to find out they had to go to Nohr instead at the last moment and they only knew they were looking for a stolen child. 

(The fact they nearly went to Hoshido instead of Nohr makes Xander frown and Leo scowl and Camilla cling to Selena bit more, even though Hoshido and Nohr are still kinda newly friends now.)

“So do you look like this permanently now?” Leo asked, curious. “You said the human Anankos changed your appearance. Will that ever wear off?”

Selena, Laslow, and Odin all shared a look. Eventually Odin shrugged. 

“I’m not sure,” he said. “It hasn’t shown signs of waning yet. Dragon magic is quite strong. Even if we returned to our home world, who knows if our parents would even recognize us at first.”

The last part was a joke. Selena smacked him on the shoulder, and Odin winced. 

“Don’t say that,” she scolded. 

Odin glanced over to Laslow, looking sheepish. “Sorry.”

Laslow didn’t seem to notice.

“I suppose I have grown used to how I look,” Laslow mused. He absently touched his hair. “Though I look less like my mother than I once did…” He noticed Xander watching and flashed a smile. “Not that I mind very much anymore, milord. It’s all in the past now.”

Camilla brushed her fingertips against the end of Selena’s hair. “I’m afraid I can’t quite picture you as a blonde,” she said.

They don’t talk about Grima or their childhood or anything too personal at that meeting. It’s not relevant to the safety of anyone, after all. But later, when they’re alone and not so forced to talk, they might. 

“She died early on, I guess,” Selena said, not looking at Camilla at all. Her face was turned towards the window, but she didn’t seem to notice anything outside. “When the war started really picking up. She’d be gone for weeks and weeks. She was the absolute best.”

Camilla could see it now. Selena, tiny, waiting by the door for her hero mother to come home, day in and day out. A hopeful thing that eventually grew resentful.

Or maybe it wasn’t like that at all. Maybe Selena got tired of waiting early on. Maybe she dragged her father around the house and stomped around the yard and pretended not to care when a Pegasus Knight failed to appear from over the hill. 

“And then she didn’t come home,” Camilla guessed.

“And then she didn’t come home,” Selena echoed. “And I became the second-hand soldier in her place.”

Camilla pursed her lips. She wanted to scold Selena for talking about herself like that. But the mood was heavy and it was Camilla’s line of questioning that had brought them here in the first place, so she kept her opinions to herself. For now.

“She’d be proud of you,” Camilla said. 

Selena looked at her, face hard. “You’re not my mother.”

“No, I’m not,” Camilla agreed. She’d never had a mother who would be proud of her, and she didn’t want to be Selena’s. “But I love you dearly anyway.”

Selena’s face softened. The far away look left her eyes.

I think the Royals and Retainers respect each other a lot already and after several years of war they’re pretty appreciative of one another, but also there’s a new understanding that comes with “Oh, this was your life before we met.” There’s also a tiny bit of fear too, probably; the A. Trio has told them several times, “Hey, don’t be surprised if we leave when the war is over.” But it’s one thing to know it and another to Know it and suddenly it’s not just a nebulous leaving but “oh, there’s a whole other world and family and friends waiting for you somewhere else” too. And how they’d probably never see one another again if they left. 

“That first year was the worst,” Laslow said. “I talked about this with Odin once, and he agreed. We had never killed people before. It had never crossed our minds that we would have to.”

Xander nodded, digesting this. He couldn’t imagine a world where he’d never have to kill another human being for the safety of those he cared about. But, he supposed, if nearly all the humans were dead anyway, that wouldn’t be as much of a concern.

Laslow caught himself. He straightened and visibly brightened. Laslow wore false cheer like an ill-fitting skin.

“But enough about depressing topics,” he said. “Have you been to the tavern recently, my lord? Yesterday I saw the most beautiful—“

“Laslow,” Xander said sternly.

Laslow shut his mouth.

Xander thought carefully about what he wanted to say. 

“Laslow,” Xander said again. “You do not have to pretend anymore. I know this much already. You’ve lived through three wars now, beginning from your birth. You do not have to hide the pain that causes you.” He placed a hand on Laslow’s shoulder, and Laslow looked up at him, eyes wide. “I am here if you ever wish to speak about what’s on your mind.”

There was a pause.

“It’s not a pretty story,” Laslow said quietly. 

“Tell me anyway,” said Xander.

Laslow did. 

And yes, eventually they even talk about the bridge incident. It probably goes a thousand different ways, but in this world it goes like—

“Why would you do that?” Leo asked, equal parts surprised and angry, and unable to keep the emotion out of his voice. “Cutting the bridge down, dooming yourself—

“This was before I met you,” Odin reminded him gently, sounding much too serious and not at all himself. “It was. Different, then.”

“Not so different that you couldn’t think of another way to solve the situation than cutting down the bridge,” Leo said, voice terse. Why was he so upset? Over something that had happened—or rather, hadn’t even happened—years ago. Leo’s heart skipped as though he were afraid. He’d told Odin and Niles to be careful with their lives a thousand times before. “So willing to martyr yourself. Like you didn’t even want to—”

“My lord,” Niles cut in.

Leo’s mouth shut with a click. He had figured it out just as Niles had, though not soon enough.

“I thought I would do something good and my friends would be safe, and then I would be done,” Odin said, looking at the floor. “I thought I wouldn’t have to deal with it anymore. And everyone else would be fine.”

That and a hundred other reasons, Leo guessed, but in the end they all seemed to come back to that one. To wanting to be finished with a dreadful world, even if doing so meant… disappearing.

Odin had been… what then? Fifteen?

“I am sorry,” Leo said, much more quietly, and he meant it. For a lot of things.

He was so grateful to have met Odin now. That they had both made it this far, across worlds of doubt. The thought blew Leo’s mind on some level, but he focused on the here and now.

Niles breathed in through his nose.

“I get it,” he said, looking right past Leo and to Odin. 

Odin looked at him as if he were wondering if Niles really did get it. 

Leo didn’t. Not really. He’d never been in a position or lived a life like that before. He wanted to try, though.

(Azura was nearly in the above scene but I cut her just for time’s sake. Let it be known she does think about Odin’s response when she asked if he was afraid of heights though.)

So they probably do Talk About Things and it’s Rough. But it’s good too, and the A. Trio is more open and comfortable with each other in public and also they connect with the Royal Trio (plus retainers) more personally now too that they can discuss things like this as well. Like. It’s not easy? They do have nightmares and trauma and there are some things the Nohrians can’t understand on the same level Selena/Laslow/Odin can understand with each other but they do try hard to be there and available to talk. And in a way, like Laslow says, it does feel like a different lifetime some days. 

Okay, so I feel like I’ve talked for 8,000 years and I don’t want to make you wait on a response, but I also feel like I’ve only been super general here, so.
