sometimes if i’m browsing ao3 and feeling particularly spicy i’ll enter a fic blind bc i like surprises and am blessed with being triggered by pretty much absolutely nothing. sometimes that works out great, and i’ll be very pleasantly surprised with the tropes that pop up. other times i’ll be halfway through a fic thinking oh god what is this and regretting every single decision that led me to this moment.

#i'll never forget that one time i was reading this super long multi chp plot heavy gen fic #and like #i knew the major character death was in the tags i saw tHAT #but it was multi chp who knew when the character deaths were gonna start #anyways i swear to god i read the author's note but i guess i didn't #bc i get to the end of the chp and i'm like #DID HE JUST FUCKING DIE FOR REAL #WHY DID NO ONE WARN ME ABOUT THSI #then i scrolled back up to the author's note with red in my eyes #and realized the warning was right there so i had no one to blame but myself :')
