#but it'd be fun to play through as someone more willing to properly yes-and and banter with him on his own level

channeling High School Jay for for juniper vibes comes in clutch once again with the realization that I can get more of the astarion conversation outcomes I want by virtue of his being more conversationally forceful than she really knows how to push back against

You sent three so I'm being self-indulgent and listing three --!!!
I want an obsessive stalker fan for dancer troupe Meiko. Yes, this could also apply to WOL Meiko, but dancer troupe Meiko is more vulnerable because she doesn't have all the world experience that makes her more confident. It can start out as something innocent, or maybe even through anonymous fan mail, and then it can escalate over time. Maybe they even become friends and she has no idea that they are the obsessive stalker? How would people in this sort of setting even deal with such a thing???
A little less developed of an idea, mainly because it'd depend on the other muse, but I'm a sucker for bard x dancer. Maybe Troupe Falsiam gets another instrumentalist, or they're a rival performer who keeps popping up at the same venues? Depending on their personality, Meiko will either want to crush them or more reluctantly compete, more pushed on by Nashmeira's competitiveness than anything.
I know Meiko is easy to adore, but I really would like a muse who doesn't like her off the bat. The default fit for this would be Heavensward Estinien, who (in my hc) doesn't see much value in a half-naked dancing rabbit woman joining the group when the Warrior of Light is like, right there. Of course, their friendship/mutual respect grows, now they're best buds and she playfully tells him to put away his tits and calls him a slut. It's great! Similarly, someone who's irritated by Meiko's timidness at the start of ARR and/or has no patience for her. Kind of like Esteem/Fray at the start, except not willing to put in the time to 'help' or 'encourage' her. Just -- ffs, you're off to the Gold Saucer again? Do you do anything else but get drunk? Sadly most people don't want to play 'bully' type characters, and being mean really requires you to walk the line of just being an outright dick versus being strategically antagonistic. If you come out of left field cursing Meiko out, it isn't fun and I won't reply. These sort of interactions REALLY have to be properly plotted to prevent me from getting defensive of my baby; i.e I guide you on the insults that are 'fair game', etc.
