i genuinely think hecate is one of the best written and designed characters across both hades games and i wish i could better articulate why
#i think she is to me what nyx is to a lot of the fandom#they obviously occupy similar narrative roles#but like. the way that hecate chose to give mel her task against what hades wanted for her is SUCH an interesting character moment to me#hecate has unfailing resolve in what she does and what melinoe must do. because of course she does; she raised melinoe in her likeness#whether or not she really intended that#this and the insistence that despite her care and love she is not melinoe's mother and never will be. only a teacher. a guide#i also love how her design has captured her agelessness#some parts of her are so evocative of a crone witch and yet she's built like a young fighter in her prime#hecate has lived a thousand lifetimes and every single facet of her character reflects this#hades game#hades 2#hades 2 spoilers#sorry i can only post coherently in the tags. ANYWAY
