Maybe someone can explain this to me but i don't really get the way the first season ended. Cal has spent the whole season hanging out with a vamp, chilling with a vamp, defending the humanity of a vamp... she thought her brother was dead and now he's not he's a vampire wouldn't she be the first person to be like hey at least he's not fucking dead?? Like we can work with this?? I get her family flipping their shit but its weird to me that Cal is like you've done something unforgivable and Juliette is like im so sorry instead of pointing out the obvious that... at least he's not dead?? Like I dont get why, at this point, her line in the sand is her brother being a vampire and why Juliette herself doesn't point out like hey he's a little funky now but at least your brother is still around? No se

#first kill #first kill spoilers #binged the whole show on my second round of covid lol #this isnt me trying to be critical or anything i thought the show was campy and cute but ultimately not my thing #and i get why this works from a narrative perspective having a rift between them is juicy #but i dont get why THIS is the rift #i expected the fact that Tess's parents were murdered to come back or for Tess to start doing some wild shit to avenge them #and then her getting hurt or kiled would be the rift #bc obv Cal knew them and that would impact her #but instesd that whole subplot quietly went away and was never mentioned again. tess and cal never even talk #which i think is a loss bc that also couldve been juicy #but maybe i missed smth i am sick rn lol my brain is cloudy which is why im genuinely asking what was up with all that
