It’s somehow a little surreal to me that I can walk into a Five Below and buy Miku stickers.
#i shoulda' taken a pic#but yeah#i don't go out much anymore but it's kinda weird to me that hatsune miku#is basically a mainstream entity#i mean i don't think every rando would recognize her in the same way they would recognize a dragonball or a pokemon#but i think she's gotten to a point where people that hear the name will at least know#that she's associated with music and isn't an anime#maybe~#or they'll think she invented minecraft and HP or whatever#she's basically a meme#but that high visibility has allowed her to escape the confines of hot topic that not all anime and anime styled properties can#usually only the big shonen can so it amuses me that something as niche as miku can achieve that#meme status or not vocaloid still occupies a niche market even if it's popular
