In an AU where Deku and Kacchan are actually friends, how do you think events like discovering Deku got into UA, the ball throw and the first hero training would go? I like to think Kacchan would keep some of his violent tendencies or go too far with his deep desire to win no matter what.

ok so obv bakugou isnt as much of a jerk in this au BUT i do agree that he’d have some issues with like. knowing where the line is (and not crossing it). bc he may not be as much of an asshole anymore, but he still does want to be the best v much, so sometimes he gets tunnel-vision nd gets too narrow-minded and cant see how he’s effecting other ppl in terms of like collateral damage until its over

when midoriya gets accepted into ua, i think bakugou would be surprised, but like. pleasantly so bc “dude!!! thats fuckin awesome wow we’re gonna be those weirdos who have been in the same class since preschool haha”

since theyre on speaking terms in this au at this point, midoriya would probably tell bakugou that his quirk just happened to finally develop during the exam nd bakugou probably wouldnt be jealous, at least not at this point, bc like,,yknow midoriya’s whole body breaks every time he uses it

so the conversation is p much like “holy shit lmao thats wild. hey can i call u crunchy bones is that ur quirk” “NO its a strength augmentation quirk my body’s just not used to it yet. stop giving me shitty nicknames kacchan”

obv it doesnt get nearly as bad as it got in canon, but its one of the first times bakugou can prove himself to his classmates nd also ALL MIGHT IS WATCHING so obv he wants to do good and win. so when it starts, its good-natured rivalry between him and midoriya but then (like i mentioned earlier) tunnel-vision sets in and he gets a lil rough

im not quite sure how the battle training would end?? cause the stakes wouldnt be so high so midoriya wouldnt break his arm doin the smash through the roof but like he does do smth

afterwards its pointed out to bakugou that he was doin fine but he’s gotta stop being so feral. so instead of “u’ve gotta stop being such an insane piece of shit” his arc is “u gotta learn how ur actions affect ppl; u cant do tunnel vision in real battles, it could hurt civilians nd ur allies”

so we get a scene similar to the one in canon where midoriya nd bakugou talk. bakugou hangs w his classmates while they wait for midoriya to get healed, nd stays while they all greet him nd stuff

but then as bakugou and midoriya are walkin home together, bakugou cracks a lil bit and apologizes nd midoriya is like “whoa hey its okay man”

nd after bakugou gets a little self-deprecating nd midoriya assures him its ok, he says smth like “all might said that being a hero is more than just winning – it’s caring for the people you save, too. so, in order to beat you, im gonna have to beat you at your own game when it comes to emotional shit” cause they have a good rivalry in this au
