is it too much to ask that you can tell two countries apart before you start loudly telling people what things are like in either of them
#sorry idk why the swedish food discourse has got me so incredibly annoyed lmao#like sorry we don't all have the same norms#but ALSO sorry just because some cultural differences feel 'weird' or 'wrong' to you doesn't mean they are evil and wrong#it's just different#idk it's not that i don't personally get a HUH?? response#but the amount of people sanctimoniously going THEY ARE CRUEL AND THEY ARE STARVING PEOPLE#I PERSONALLY WOULD NEVER STARVE A CHILD#is just ... okay my dude i get that it's Not How Things Are Done where you come from but context is different and cultures is different#and when people in a culture are clued in to the same 'rule set' following those social expectations is#uh#at least in this particular context#just not a big deal?
