random thought: if its called apology tour then presumably verosika is on tour and tour lengths can vary but can be a few months. so what if apology tour takes place at the start of her touring and ghostfuckers takes place near the end of the tour and that's where that shot of stolas performing comes from

(because yeah the pumpkins and pinetrees and the fact they're not in human disguises makes me that think 1. this is halloween and 2. theyre in the human world and people think they're in costumes)

i am completely speculating and wanna say that's the ep with blitz getting possessed and seeing tilla is definitely going to leave him wrung out emotionally, so what if in the aftermath of that eps events he ends up stumbling across this concert and seeing stolas and yeah something something don't wanna be this way anymore wanna fix the relationship/is willing to be brave and let himself be genuinely loved

Teenage Fingon and Maedhros!

I came up with a whole story (practically an entire fic idea lol 😅) for this illustration. It takes place during an extended family vacation in some snowy mountaintops in Aman, (can you imagine not Only the shenanigans the extended finwean family would get up to but also the drama involved with having everyone basically camping under one log cabin roof LMAO), and Fingon, who absolutely idolizes his older cousin Mae, finally musters up the courage to, while on a skiing adventure just the two of them, to come out as trans and Maedhros is just like: *vibrates with excitement* "this is the best news ever i'm gonna teach you everything I know about being a dude" and henceforth the two were inseparable buddies 🥹

I imagine Mae as the first person that Fingon feels comfortable coming out to in this fic idea... and Mae's immediate and enthusiastic encouragement and acceptance is at least partly why Fingon remains his loyal friend for the remainder of their days :')

Ever since making my human Shockwave design, both my original one and this one, I've been thinking of what arm he would have because even if you have access to a cannon arm as a human it's logical to have a functional arm prosthetic maybe idk-

#my art #three body problem #3 body problem #zhang beihai #三体 #章北海 #i've been meaning to draw three body problem characters and actually post them on my blog for quite some time!#so if anybody wants me to draw any specific character from the series feel free to reply here or send an ask as a request!#beihai is my top favorite and he resonated with me more than i expected! i rather liked bits of consequentialist philosophical ideas in him #anyways incoming ramble/infodump in the tags about various subjects pertaining to him #all you need to know about me is that i often lurk in chinese language fandom spaces and you might see commonalities in designs #if you see fanartists draw him with the broken eyebrow and mole then that's due to the 我的三体 (my three-body) donghua adaptation!#admittedly i was introduced to the series through that adaptation years ago because it seemed rather absurd (minecraft haha) but oddly good #at least check out the third season (haven't seen the fourth one yet but that's ongoing actually) or listen to 夜航星 (night voyager)#i'm rather curious how fanartists on tumblr might tackle character designs since i mostly see the two live action adaptations here #i want to diverge my designs from any particular adaptation but my beihai design takes a lot from 我的三体!#now about beihai- i really enjoyed his characterization and i'd like to bring up a maybe unintentional parallel and foil with the eto #hopefully that's something new to add to the discussion about zhang beihai and here's what adaptations don't get about mike evans #in the book he's a character you mostly only hear about from others and he's known to be a private person #he conceals a lot of his thoughts from even people like ye wenjie + he taught the trisolarans about deceit #then his strategy to kill luo ji was to keep it low and make it seem like an accident which those obfuscations of thought parallels beihai #then evans says: “but… it's obvious now that everywhere is the same” which is similar to beihai's “it doesn't matter. it's all the same”#the contexts differ but i think they're good foils about human nature “being the same” with evans's quote being about futility #then beihai's was about how regardless of if he survived or not- someone else would be able to carry on with his work #i have many other thoughts about beihai like how chu yan's (captain of blue space) group approach with the voting contrasts beihai #while beihai tried to bear the weight of attacking the other ships in solitude- chu yan made vengeance against trisolaris a group effort #(which that action goes against how the swordholder was a solitary role instead of a group one which is neat to me!)#i'd discuss more but i think that's enough to show that i really love zhang beihai (feel free to discuss the books with me though)

this is only vaguely related to my last ask but it got me thinking again how much i don't like the type of scrutiny that some people engage with when it comes to headcanons. don't get me wrong, there is plenty of headcanons that i despite when they appear in a particular context because they clearly come from a place of total ignorance and sometimes even borderline malice; and there are ways of writing about characters that are very obviously rooted in reactionary attitudes. but i have also seen situations in which people of specific ethnicities were told they were not supposed to hc a character to be said ethnicity because of the classist implications. i have seen people saying that headcanoning a particular character to be trans is too stereotypical and that it makes them "sick." i've seen people annoyed about characters being a particular religion because "there's another character who was said to be that religion before" (shocking and upsetting to some americans especially: religions are real and usually have more than one follower so they don't have to be assigned to a single character per title as their token.) and idk i think we should all pause for a moment and remember that the pieces of identity that people assign their favourite characters are often their own. there are ways to reclaim these cliches too. it's a matter of intention. people often read themselves into their beloved pieces of art. and maybe it does not always create the truest image of the author's intention nor a revolutionary picture of minority rep, but no one claims it does.

#a matter that always gives me a headache is how people read my post about the issue of jason being portrayed as psychotic #as me saying he should never be portrayed as psychotic #when what i meant was that psychosis should not be associated with violence the way it was in these comics.#i write jason psychotic sometimes.#i also write jason queer in all the possible ways. he's a trans guy he's a woman he's aroace he's gay etc.#i also do write him in a way that suggests he has at least a cultural link to eastern europe.#and very explicitly catholic. as i do write quite a lot of characters. most notably dick #all things that could be read as extremely inflammatory and stereotypical #but that are ultimately pieces of me or my loved ones.#i think fanfiction and creative interpretation are a work of love in more way than one #as i said: in a sense you do not only read the material but also read yourself into it.#and there has to be careful consideration when it comes to it at times.#to make sure there is still engagement with the source that makes it worthwhile #but i don't think it's fair to tell people these experiences are inappropriate for these contexts.#it's another thing if devin grayson makes dick romani #it's another thing if a person of a particular id & experience wishes to explore it in fanwork #sorry idk. love wins.

I try not to get my hopes up, and I know that part of the struggle to get a good story and worldbuilding in an open world game is in the translation to a playable game with balanced and enjoyable mechanics, but if tes 6 was truly in pre-development for like 5 years it better have the best writing in the whole series I swear to god

#genshin #genshin impact #genshin impact headcanons #this is largely aimed at people who are under the mistaken impression that any characters have a CANON age particularly the travelers #sarah miller-crews saying she was under the impression the travelers were 15 and then correcting #and saying “actually i don't know for sure that's just what i thought” has left the fandom with the mistaken idea that that is solid canon #and it most definitely is not #i find it much easier to believe the traveler is biologically 18 at the very least #largely because of that part in one of the mondstadt quests where kaeya is openly flirting with the traveler (obviously as a joke but still #he's clearly a young adult and would not at all be flirting with a teenager as a joke or otherwise #this is also why the way lisa flirts with the traveler makes me extremely uncomfortable (and i think it's intended to)#because even though i headcanon them as 19 she seems like she's in her late 20s and that's a bit much of an age gap #this is also largely aimed at one particular artist who keeps drawing neuvillette and wriothesley and making them both look like old men #it weirds me out because there's literally a line in the fontaine archon quest where paimon says wrio's younger than she expected him to be #and neuv is pretty nimble and uses the young male adult model so idk where that person got the idea that they're in like their mid 50s #calling them both “wrio” and “neuv” feels very cursed but there is unfortunately a character limit in the tags #it annoys me that the fandom is completely blind to context and just goes “medium height model equals teenager #and tall height model equals adult" because if the medium height female characters in liyue are any clue that is definitely not the case #ganyu and keqing literally work IN THE GOVERNMENT #hu tao RUNS A FUNERAL HOME #yanfei is a freaking lawyer #they would not be letting teenagers do that #heck this is the case in every nation almost #tighnari runs the whole dang forest ranger thing out in gandharva ville #cyno also literally works for the government and is like their frickin chief of police for the entire frickin country #faruzan is a licensed professor at arguably the most prestigious university in all of teyvat #layla is literally in college and as far as we know is normal college age and isn't doing advanced classes as a teenager #in inazuma ayaka runs their clan's GOVERNMENT WORK along with her brother #kokomi and gorou are literal generals in the army #heizou is a licensed detective

i have deep desire to write for demon slayer (and by write for it im specifically talking about zenitsu currently.) but the story is so deeply impacted by it's setting that its gonna take at least two weeks of research to do it any justice so the plans r Delayed

#aristotle.txt #writing for my hero = easy because im insane and know every inch of it #writing for anything else = impossible #i figured trying to find fic for it was going to feel like this in the first place #from my limited understanding the story takes place in the events directly after japans first industrial revolution #which means that the advent of technology is not only integral to the story telling but there's also like an unreal #amount of sociopolitical context for most of the major details #writing for my hero is easy because a society post tech is very easy to imagine. we live in it lol #demon slayer in particular takes place during the emergence of industry #what makes zenitsu an interesting character to me is that his narration is influenced directly by his class and proximity to modernity #he has a specific level of cynicism i can only describe as post industrial. whether that be his sense of cowardice over tanjiro/inosuke #or his attitude towards women. the way he behaves and how he critically analyzes certain kinds of behavior #like im currently watching the entertainment district arc and i think inosukes reaction vs zenitsus pretty much exactly covers it #where inosuke is overstimulated and tanjiro is reserved - zenitsu recognizes the district for what it is. that quality makes him stand out #a lot among them at least to me. i love hearing him talk sooo much lmfao.#anyways. all that to say. i want to write zenitsu but i need to do more reading to make it any good so . pray for me i suppose #zenitsu the embodiment of men used to chop trees and go to war fr
