In some cases, like Minecraft Evolution, have it worse, to the point that the citizens of Fulcrum strangled/interfered with it so much it fell apart.

Some really small servers (~20 people or less) can go under the radar. Hermitcraft was one of those servers.

The Watchers and their culture is based off of MCYT’s audiences, just exaggerated to be 1000x worse. So most of the Watcher characters are based off of me and people in the fandom I know. They don’t play a big role, though.

The Watchers are basically the same as players in the servers, they call themselves differently to distinguish themselves from everyone else, who are “lesser.”

Every five years, Fulcrum holds what is called the Ascension Games, where 24 admins (or people who had taken admin-related roles) from the servers are randomly chosen to participate in a game of survival. They fight until only one is left alive, who then “Ascends” to become a Watcher and join their society. 

It’s basically the event. All the Watchers get super into it.

The Watchers see the admins in the Games as less than people. They root for them and care for them as one would their favorite sports team.

There is no real warning over whether you become a tribute for the Games or not. You would just be going about your day, doing your random admin-y duties, when you suddenly get teleported to Fulcrum with a bunch of people cheering over you being a tribute. There is no volunteering.

Some people want to win the Games in order to live the easy life, or are raised by their parents/guardians/server with that goal in mind. These are the “Career” Tributes.

Many of the tributes also have established reputations among Fulcrum, which can either be a huge advantage or disadvantage.

There is a two-week training period between the reaping and the start of the Games.

The tributes are divided into pairs, each pair getting a stylist to help with outfits and public images. Then the 6 victors from the last 6 games (up to 30 years ago), take two pairs each to train and educate on the Games.

Like in the Hunger Games, there is still a parade and interview for the tributes, two days and a week after the reaping, respectfully.

The Games take place in a hardcore server, so if you die, you’re dead forever.
