So are we as a fandom finally ready to discuss the fact that the way Chara has been regarded by said fandom is heavily ableist or are we going to keep treating them like the root of all evil
#chara dreemurr#undertale#ableism#fandom ableism#i say 'we' so the sentence sounds better not bc i associate much with the fandom#for. understandably. not liking the ableism in how it regards chara dreemurr#most discussions of ableism in this fandom are about papyrus which is. reasonable!#he was infantalized and that's a serious issue as he is neurodivergent coded#but. i think there is something to be said about the 12 year old who is CANONICALLY mentally ill#being reduced to nothing but 'pure evil incarnate who likes to stab people'#like i get it. we don't learn much about chara and what we do is a mixed bag#but treating a traumatized suicidal little kid like they forced you to commit mass homicide is ridiculous#they weren't the best person. i will be the first to admit that. but generally kids aren't!#especially kids who are traumatized and struggling!#just. i have so many thoughts on chara dreemurr and none of them are fandom positive
