Always funny/weird to me when Americans carry on about how media made in certain places is 'so inseparable from its culture.' Usually British media and how it's "so engrained in British culture you can't remove that fact from the text." Like. Yeah? Obviously? American media is almost always like that too. Like they're always filled with American's values and culture that separating it from American culture would be impossible.

#this is a very niche 'peeve' of mine and when i say 'peeve' its more so a berwilderment #this is specifically about one post about tma being so british and its not an attack at the author but its so weird to me #like. yeah??? the authors are british. all of the actors are british. evennthe editors are british.#this is sort of the reverse of the death note movie where the producers didnt understand that japanese culture is wildly different than #american culture especially in regards to crime and prison #so when they tried to translate it over they had to americanise a bunch of bs #but yeah similar vein to americabs insisting they dont have an accent or losing their minds over other peoples accents.#its pretty annoying. like please be normal about the way people speak for once pls
