how do you even watch Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul if you don’t know that a story is true, a story is untrue… as time extends, it matters less and less… the stories we want to believe... those are the ones that survive ??

#listen. it VERY much has this theme!!!!!#i would argue in a slightly more pessimistic way than Black Sails does #although you could definitely also call Black Sails pessimistic if you’re considering Rogers’ return as (future) canon #but yeah… Breaking Bad doesn’t exist in the same larger mythological context like Black Sails does with Treasure Island so the Vibes are #just very different #but there is still ABSOLUTELY a theme re: how people are remembered and what lessons (if any) are taken from their downfalls #idk idk #i HAVE fuller thoughts but i’m not ready to get into them just yet #just something to chew on for the rest of my rewatch here…
